This is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel. The room we had booked(king bed) was unavailable due to overbooking. We did not learn this until after we arrived in our room(two double beds). The front desk agent said there was nothing he could do and did not offer any alternatives or comps to make up for the mistake. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave, the bathroom was tiny, and there was an odd smell coming from the air vent as well. In addition parking was limited and required us to park in the business next door. The final issue was a lack of any continental breakfast. For a hotel that averages $ 150 a night or more, all the complaints above should not be an issue at all. Management should take note and implement solutions to fix these problems.

#1 Worst Hotel in America! To keep this review relatively short I will just list the issues we had during our stay at this hotel and warn those that have a slight inclination to book here to think twice. For your own personal safety please don’t book here. The hotel security is non existent and failed to provide decent service. Issues that occurred during our stay that lead us to leave one day early. 1. Connecting room door tried to break into our room 2:30AM. Scaring us half to death which lead us but no other choice to leave the hotel a day early. 2. Room location: It was in front of the elevator where people that were partying were entering and causing a lot of noise not allowing us to rest in our room. 3. Drug dealing at the hotel. 4. Marijuana smelling hallways, elevators and rooms. 5. Door knob broke not allowing us access to our room. 6. No cleaning services were performed during our stay. The one day I asked Daniel(front desk manager) said, there are no housekeepers and I can clean it myself. 7. People ran up and down the hallway and in neighboring rooms until 4AM on most nights. Not allowing for any rest. 8. Outside facilities were not clean. There was dog poop on the sidewalks. 9. Poorly maintained rooms, stains on sheets, mold in bathroom tub and steaming windows.(Reviewers also state this on Unilocal and other reviewing sites.) 10. No hot water and loose plumbing. Shower head was loose and the water was lukewarm at it’s hottest. 11. Staff members told me that a couple of nights before us checking in, there was a fight in the halls that lead to the police being called. This is one of the poorest representations of the Hilton brand. My experience was beyond terrible that for the first time ever I had to check out early in fear for my personal safety and the person I was traveling with. Matter a fact, Hilton made my stay so horrific that I have no interest in ever visiting Texas or any Hilton brand again. Hilton has lost another customer thanks to Hilton Houston Westchase.

We went here for a 10 year high school reunion. I wasn’t too impressed with the space as it looks pretty old. They did serve a lot of heavy appetizers. The best ones were the beef Wellington the guacamole and chips and the coconut shrimp. The desserts were also very good especially the crime brûlée tart. Service was decent and they picked up our plates timely. Overall, this wouldn’t be my first choice to host a huge event but it turned out alright.

This will be short and sweet(or not). Needs to be renovated… staff is great and working with a very old hotel. Good bang for the buck if you get a corp rate. Close to ok places to eat, 10 minutes away from great places to eat… Rooms are clean but old…

Simply put, its a bit of a hole. I travel a lot for work and know what makes me happy when it comes to a business hotel. I want clean, quiet, efficient and a little bit of pampering doesn’t hurt. Unfortunately the Hilton Westchase missed the mark across the board. The clean: Apparently the hotel has gone through a recent reno but it already looks tired and worn out. The carpet in the halls and room was dirty. Curtains were billowed out dust when I opened and closed them. To be fair the bathroom was quite clean. The quiet: HUGE miss. I realize that its on a main street but the glass used has next to no sound proofing whatsoever. Lots of noise coming from the hallways and neighboring rooms(nothing like a crying kid @ 2:00am to put a smile of my face) The efficient: Yes the check-in and check-out was quick and the room service was for the most part decent they still have a long way to go if were ever to return. The hotel’s wireless internet was painfully slow and still requires the user to log on(here’s a hint to management, internet like flush toilets and running water should be standard in your room charge). They also had perpetual problems with my laundry. Each time I sent something out to be cleaned it either didn’t come back(I got someone else’s clothing instead) or it came back with some sort of damage. You’re charging obscene rates for the service, do it right! Next trip to Houston I’ll try somewhere else.

Here are the pros: it’s a pretty convenient location off of Sam Houston and there are a ton of restaurants and one pub right across the street. The hotel’s bar is nice and they«only»(I have to put that in quotes because it’s still a ridiculous price) charge $ 5.50 for a pint of Shiner(and they have a pretty decent selection on tap as well). There’s plenty of parking. And the staff is competent and very friendly. The continental breakfast was fresh and decently varied in the concierge lounge. The cons: this seems like a property that Hilton(and time) have forgotten. The décor is out of date, the elevators slow and not very clean(the marble dull and dingy, hand and fingerprints on the steel inside the cabin). My room NEVER seemed to cool down enough for me to sleep well. I had a fucking 27 inch TV(NOT flatscreen) and I was supposed to be in an upgraded Tower room. And my biggest beef is once again the insultingly slow wi-fi service. At times, I wasn’t even getting dial-up speeds. Dude, it’s the fucking 21st Century in one of the biggest metro areas in the country. I can get a 30Mbps connection at my house in the rural ‘burbs of Dallas for $ 50 a month. Sheesh.
