You can’t go wrong with Christies. Great place for special occasions of a nice night out. They consistently serve excellent tasting and great quality food.

My lady and I just had a magnificent dining experience at this wonderful restaurant. The owner greeted us with an upbeat demeanor that continued throughout. The service is friendly and attentive. Then came the food which was some of the best I have had. I go to a lot of restaurants so I know what I am talking about. This one has ‘different’ and unusual types of food and the ones we ordered were outstandingly delicious. My only criticism of this place is that the amount of food given could not be consumed by anyone I know. We actually had doggie bags inside of a larger doggie bag. This is a must try that will put them on your favorite list. The prices are very low for what is offered here and BYOB is a plus for me as I hate paying 12 – 15 a glass for wines that I don’t know or care for.

STELLAR! Totally unassuming little restaurant, smooshed into the corner of a strip mall. Very clean, cute bistro style décor. The service is incredible. The food is as beautiful as it is, tasty. It’s BYOB, which helps to keep the cost down, and the smiles up. Be sure to have a reservation. The place fills up, especially on a Friday(which is when we were there). I ordered the pork-chop special(two pork chops w roasted red pepper, tomato and mozz, that came with sides of mashed potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables), and crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was so very delicious and so very filling! I wasn’t even able to eat half. I took the rest home and had two more meals with the left-overs. The pork chops were still moist and flavorful, even after being reheated. Christie’s is an instant fav in our household. We were already talking about when we can get back there, while we were on the way home! We are definitely going to add this place to our regular rotation. Make your reservation. Go to Christie’s. That’s all I can say.

Christie’s is an amazing small fine dining restaurant in Howell, NJ. I’ve eaten here many times over the year for birthdays and special events. There food is outstanding. All kinds of fine appetizers, seafood, chicken and beef dishes. Eveeything is cooked to perfection. A must for fine dining.

Went on a SAT night, very busy but our table was ready on arrival.(make a res) Apps were very good, had the family style apps — stuffed mushrooms, clams casino, eggplant rollatini, mozz and roasted peppers, and ordered some oysters… a few shell bits in the mix but were cold and tasty. Must have the shrimp app — lightly floured shrimp in a lemon butter sauce… killer Dinners were very good, Sea Bass was well made, Chicken francese was just ok, others got the snapper in macadamia crust and said it was awesome. Good Service BYO, a good place to come with friends…

HORRIBLE! My latest experience with Christie’s is them giving away my sons Communion luncheon reservation to a larger party without contacting me first. I made the reservation in August(10 months in advance) and when I went back to give my deposit they told me that the owner, Rosario, gave my reservation away! At this point I am stuck without a reservation for 35 guests for my sons communion. I will NEVER eat or recommend this restaurant ever again.

I dined here with a group of 8 this past Saturday. I called at 6 asking if they could accommodate a party of 12, and they said they could have us at 7. I feel it’s worth noting that we received no grief when we arrived and told them that 3 of our party had cancelled. I was very pleased with the service. The server memorized several specials very well; we were all impressed with her memory! The pace was a bit slow, but I’ll never complain about that when there is fresh food being prepared. We ordered two hot appetizer platters and an order of calamari. All tasted good. As previous reviewers cited, I was disappointed that the entrees didn’t come with a salad, but at least they are reasonably priced. $ 15.99 for chicken francese is not bad; I pay $ 21 for this entrée at another local Italian place, which I think is way too much even though it comes with a salad. Chicken francese is my favorite Italian dish; I’ve tasted it at dozens of restaurants. Unfortunately, this one was at the bottom of my list. It should have just been called«butter chicken.» It was sautéed chicken breast soaked in butter over pasta soaked in butter, that’s it. There wasn’t even parsley sprinkled on top. The chicken should have been pounded thinner as well. My husband got a steak meal, which was severely overcooked, so he was disappointed. Overall, I’d give it another chance and try different dishes.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Christie’s on the evening of Friday, October 9th. The entire night exceeded all of our expectations. Rosario and his staff displayed some of the best hospitality our families have experienced and truly went above and beyond to make sure they met and exceeded all of our expectations. The level of service and quality of food provided by Christie’s is excellent. I would recommend Christie’s to anyone looking for a great dining out experience who loves Italian food – most especially for large group parties, too(the private room was the perfect fit for our party of(40)!).

We just had a surprise 50th anniversary for my parents at Christies and everything about it was awesome!!! They provided a great party menu with many options and everything was delicious I had the chicken with roasted peppers and portobello mushrooms that was fantastic. The apps were all great and plentiful! If that wasn’t enough the staff was incredibly helpful in helping us set up the room and in all the service they provided. Thank you to everyone there, especially Rosario for making it a very special night!!!

I am updating my review because I ordered again from Christies last night. In the order I specifically requested no garlic because I know that they put far too much in their pasta to try and give it flavor. I even said that I had a garlic allergy to make sure they wouldn’t put any in because I cannot tolerate so much garlic. Well there was almost an entire clove in my pasta. It was overwhelming and I had an upset stomach the entire night and into today. I will not order from here again because clearly they don’t acknowledge customer requests. I would worry if you choose to eat here and have a serious allergy because apparently they don’t care.

Went here for a Date Night. It was later in the evening and it was still very crowded when we got there around 9. They sat us quickly and service was executed well overall. We started with the hot appetizer for 2. It was all ok. I believe the highlight however was the Eggplant Rollatini. Salads were just ok, but its a salad, nothing to get crazy over. For dinner i had the Pork Chops Giambotta. It was very tasty with two large pork chops. It was way too much for one sitting. My date had the Chicken Parm and she seemed happy with hers as well. Overall we had a good meal at a decent price, however it didn’t blow me away. I will definitely return after trying the other Italian options in the area.

We had a gift card so we decided to go for an early dinner. Chrisite’s has a reputation as a nice local restaurant and you can’t get in on the weekends without reservations so we thought it must be good. We started with the calamari which was well cooked and crispy. The tomato sauce that was served with it was tasty as well. The portion size was good. However, the fact that salad is not included with meals on their regular menu is ridiculous in my view. The prices are high enough that providing a basic salad wouldn’t kill them. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli. She said it was good, the pasta was a little heavy for her taste but the flavor was good. There were none left. I ordered the Risotto Piscatore. A mixture of mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops and calamari in a light tomato sauce over risotto. This meal was a not very good. The risotto and tomato sauce were ok, though there was no garlic flavor as stated in the menu description. The seafood was incredibly bad. The meal included 2 little shrimp that were cut in half(so there were 4 pieces of shrimp, laughable for a $ 25 meal) and so overcooked they were hard. The scallops had a slight ammonia taste which told me they weren’t very fresh. There were plenty of relatively well cooked calamari and 4 each of the clams and mussels. My daughter ordered the Risotto Porcini. I was served with 5 nice sized shrimp over what was supposed to be a wild mushroom(Didn’t see any of those) risotto. The flavors were terrible so she didn’t eat it. She ate a half of a shrimp and a couple of forks of the risotto and decided it wasn’t worth the calories. I tasted her dish and the flavors were not good. Maybe a new cook? But the shrimp, while well cooked tasted like dirt, literally. So that dish was basically not eaten. The hostess asked us if there was a problem and we explained that the shrimp were terrible. She deducted the calamari appetizer from the bill as a way to make up for the terrible meal? They bill themselves as a seafood grill so I thought that the seafood would be the way to go. I was wrong. The flavors on the 2 seafood dishes, aside from the poorly cooked and old seafood left a lot to be desired to say the least. They must do something right because they are packed on the weekends. I just didn’t experience it.

Disappointed, was hoping it had gotten better. We were there this past Sunday. The Crunchy bread was nice & hot. The waitress offered to bring another basket, must have forgotten, not a big deal. She was good knew every special, & was Informative. Service was good. The kids Chic Parm was very good. Calamari was fine. It’s all downhill from here. The lettuce for the salad was wilty & could have been fresher. I had the $ 30.00 pork special, there were 4 slices of meat, with gravy. overpriced for quality & quantity. Was explained like Pork Chops. My wife had a Chic dish with provolone & Prosciutto. Very salty, also smother in gravy, with the mushroom risotto, that wasn’t good either. Unfortunately we will not be back.

My family has been to Christie’s many, many times! They have excellent food and customer service. Large menu choices with amazing specials. We have even rented a room from them for a private party and the food, service and ambiance was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Decent food Everything served nice and hot Nice server Relaxed atmosphere Nothing exceptional though. We got calamari… good Eggplant rollentini parm… my hubby enjoyed this dish as did I. I ordered shrimp scampi and modified it with some. Alfredo(I do this often at places… I know weird. But they obliged– they just insisted on serving it all on the side and separate… server said it was BC of presentation… I took the compromise) anyhow. it was good. We ate to our hearts content but didn’t bother with the leftovers. We don’t usually get doggie bags unless its something that stands out. We are kind of high maintenance that way. Like I said though. Good. Might eat here again.

I was totally delighted with the wonderful food and atmosphere. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo with lobster tail Special. My husband ordered the Chilean Sea Bass Special which was total bliss. Truth be told, I liked his better. THe fish was moist and tender. My dish was a bit lacking in the scallops. I counted 5 out of my entire dish. Still it was delicious. If it hadn’t been for the Specials, salad would have cost us about $ 6 each. They are pricey so understand everything is a la carte. I also ordered Broccoli Rabe which was cooked to perfection. Great food but it will cost you. Personally, I would love to go back. Hubby is a little hesitant. He can’t believe the salad is a la carte. Total bill including tip is around $ 100.(had drinks)
