Since the first moment I met Pete and learned about his devotion and passion I could relate to him as a person.
Pete and Kindred Souls Canine Solutions have both positively influenced my family. Rosco is my Old English Bulldogge. The reason why we started with Pete is because Rosco was attacked by another dog at the park. We wanted to get him acclimated and comfortable around other dogs again. Pete has shown nothing but love and dedication to our dog, and all the other dog’s in our obedience class. Our dog enjoys being there, as do I. When you do the work and put in the time and effort and can accept that your dog is not the only one there to learn, the results happen rapidly. I am so thankful that I found Kindred Souls.

«He man handled our dog», SERIOUSLY, he is «HAND’S ON» for sure, he uses the dogs in the class as examples, and if you haven’t done the homework and your dog is not following instructions, he is in charge and shows you how to do the job you were responsible for. Pete is a very blunt, very truthful person, guess you were called out in class for not doing the work.
«If you have a boxer don’t go» ARE YOU INSANE? Pete works side by side with New Jersey Boxer Rescue, I am sure he made it clear he did not like your breed, but choose’s to donate time, money and energy to the rescue.
People have opinions, we are all entitled to them, the proof is in the pudding and this place is legit.

I use to go to Kindred Souls a number of years ago with my two Papillions, both who finished 1^st place in Pete’s obedience classes. He was by far the best dog instructor I ever trained under. I live near Princeton and went to a number of schools in my area, but decided driving 40 miles down to Pete at Kindred Souls was a better option. Pete has always had a connection to every dog he met, small or large. Animals are an amazing judge of character. My dogs are 6 and 8 lbs and even with all the larger dogs in class, I always felt safe working the the routines as Pete was always in control and monitored the class with a watchful eye.
I am a number of years outside obedience as my dogs are older now but have recommended Pete to a number of friends who added puppies to their households. Just visited this Sat for my first time in a long time… how great it was to be back. I sat there watching Pete work with everyone and their dogs. I so enjoyed it and wished for a new puppy to train !!
Bottom line, Pete knows dogs and how to get the best of them ! A definite recommendation for Pete and Kindred Souls !

Just graduated the basic obedience class with Zoey, our shiba inu. She now is very responsive to all the basic commands (sit, down, stay, heel, etc) and is a pleasure to have around. This is all thanks to Pete at KSK9!

We just finished the Basic Obedience class with our high-​energy 3-​year old pit mix rescue, who we adopted four months ago. We learned how to effectively work with our new family member and how to channel her energy into creative games and weekly homework lessons. I have to say that our dog has done a total 180-​degree turnaround for the better, both inside and outside our home, and I look forward to more advanced classes in the near-​future with Pete and Kindred Souls.

Having just completed Pete’s Basic Obedience class with our boxer today, I can report that the training at this facility is outstanding. We came in with an incorrigibly bouncy and distractible dog who was next to impossible to walk and just generally «too much» in most circumstances. She knew a few commands, but easily set them aside with the smallest distraction.
With Pete’s help, we were able to develop a clearer relationship with our dog, where she now knows we are in charge and we will take care of her. That is the fundamental thing we worked on in the first few weeks, and from there everything else started falling in place. We came to understand the importance of consistency in a whole new way too. Pete tailors his approach for each family depending on the dog (our boxer required different handling from the timid poodle in our class, for instance), which is fantastic. I had been concerned about going to a facility that would take the fun out of our dog in the service of getting her under control, but I needn’t have worried. Now that we have a better handle on her, we can enjoy our happy dog even more than before.
As soon as we can, we plan to return for the Distraction class to further what we have already learned. The results are well worth the expense.
And PS: Pete absolutely does not hate boxers, as some nut job has posted here. He was great with ours and has been doing boxer rescue for years.

hopefully my review isn’t filtered like all the other 4 and 5 star reviews. this place was great for our rescue. she is a very timid dog, and pete was fantastic with her. the owner/​trainer has a very strong personality which can take some getting used to. he is very gruff and isn’t afraid to yell at the OWNERS (not the dogs) if it’s obvious that the owners aren’t doing the homework. pete is very specific about saying that we are there to make your dog the best dog that he/​she can be, and not to make your dog a perfect dog like border collies (who are very very smart).
i would not hesitate to bring our dog here again for the next class except that we moved so it’s a bit far.
don’t come here if you are not a motivated dog owner.

Already posted in our check in. Not sure where the other 2 reviewers went but we’ve been coming here for 7 years with our 3 Labs. Nothing bad to say. Learned so much and the boys love Pete!
