Good ice cream. Coconut almond delight my fav. BUT they leave as much as 10 – 15 minutes early if they aren’t busy. The workers ARE in there but the lights are off and they are leaving.

Delicious! I got a double scoop of rainbow sherbet and chocolate and my husband got chocolate chip– all amazing. We’re so glad we stopped.

Ice cream itself is pretty great if you get a few good flavors. However, most of the flavors aren’t nearly as good as similar places around like Brewsters, Handel’s, etc. for generally higher prices in comparison. At this location in particular the main people working usually seem a bit impersonal. Had a rather weird interview here a few years back that confirmed for me that they’re not super friendly.

This is one of my favorite ice cream places. It is the original Katie’s. The ice cream is made here. It’s just a house that has had walk up windows placed in the front of the building. The place is open all year around but there is no inside. Customers stand outside and order at the window. The location is in a residential area. Fortunately, it’s very convenient to an exit on Route 11. They have a large number of flavors. The flavors are more traditional and not so avant garde. The ice cream is very creamy. My current favorites are mint chocolate chip, black raspberry, and cashew caramel.

I moved here last summer and this is the best place if you want homemade ice cream! We went here all the time during the summer. If you want a nice indulgent treat, then I highly recommend Katie’s Korner!

Yep… I love this place. Now, I haven’t been here since, well its been a very long time. As kids, we use to ride our bikes here just to get a scoop of this homemade ice cream. It is very close to my house but we never go. No excuse except the DQ is about three blocks away and Katie’s is about 2 miles away. Well, I took the kids here while my wife was in the hospital with our new addition. The kids got the superman ice cream while I had the chocolate fudge cappuccino. It was fantastic and not overpowering in the cappuccino department. The kids was very tasty as well. Reminded my of sherbet a little because of the bright red, blue and yellow colors and it was tasty. The building is the same as it was 20 years ago and it is walk up service only. They do have tables outside to sit and enjoy a good cone or sundae. They also have fro-yo but I didn’t try any this time(Sorry Lolia, :)) But I will be visiting more often as this visit reminded me why I liked it sooo much as a kid.

I. Love. This. Ice Cream! I grew up in Niles and Katie’s Korner set the standard for homemade ice cream for me. On visits home I totally indulge myself in a waffle cone of dark chocolate peanut butter and chocolate pecan. It’s heaven. And calories don’t count when you’re on vacation… right? Other flavors worth trying: Coconut Almond Delight, Banana, Butter Pecan, Reese’s Cup… really they’re all good! Now, if only I could get a Katie’s in San Diego! Oh well, it’s probably best for my waistline that there isn’t one…
