When I bought my 100+ yr old house a decade ago, it was a fixer upper. The roof was leaking and rotting out the floors, the doors were flimsy and falling off the hinges. Somehow I stumbled across Joe Serpa’s company. When I met Joe he immediately struck me as a knowledgeable and straightforward guy who would charge me fairly.
I contracted him to replace the rotten flooring (this included replacing the whole floor in a 3 season porch), install new doors (interior and exterior), and help to make the house more secure and weatherproof. 10 years later, his work stands up. We’ve had no issues, and I have used his services since then to reinforce the stairs to a rooftop deck among other things.
From what I can tell, he does not use subcontractors — as his company seems to have long term employees who are skilled professionals in their own right. From the early days, I was impressed with the speedy work of his crew. Instead of sending out one man to work onsite for days, he sends a team who wraps up the work in a matter of hours with courtesy and professionalism.
Highly recommended, if you need construction work on your old or new home.

I had some work done a few yrs back and since have had some issues with the work. I’ve left SEVERAL messages for Jim but have yet to have him return a phone call. This has been going on for a month now. I loved when he did the work but would have to say I’m very disappointed with his not standing by his work.

I had Joe and his team out to remodel my kitchen, bath rm, there were GREAT on time, clean, VERy professional, I would highly recommend them for future projects.
