Social painting is hot! Paint Misbehavin’ in Hudson, MA is an artist-​owned and operated «paint bar» where you’ll hang out for a few hours, paint, socialize, drink a little beer or wine (or not), listen to some cool music, have a fun & relaxing night out and go home with a finished painting that you’ll be proud to show off. Discover a hidden talent or re-​awaken a long-​dormant one while enjoying a unique and fun night out!

Book a painting party with us for your next private event, corporate function, or fundraiser!

The instructor will guide you through the step-​by-​step process. It’s surprisingly easy, fun and rewarding. You’ll amaze your friends, family and, most importantly, yourself. Although we do offer detailed instructions to get you from first strokes to signing your name, we always encourage you to indulge your creativity and veer off the path as you please.

We also offer private lessons and «open painting» sessions. Contact us to make arrangements and indulge your passion or hobby!

Meet the Business Owner

David R.

Business Owner

David has lived in Hudson for 25 years. He graduated from Massachusetts College of Art (Massahht) with a BFA in Communication Design long before the computer age settled in. He has worked in the Graphic Design field for over 35 years and has done everything including print and web design & production, paste-​up, color correcting, murals, face painting, caricatures, wedding photography, calligraphy and design & installation of signage.

In all that time he has never tired of doing his own painting, paper maché sculpture, wood carving, photography, computer graphics & painting, and, of course, snow and sand sculpting. Nothing makes David happier than when he is in front of his easel (or computer), painting and listening to music. For David, it has always been more about the process than the end result. At Paint Misbehavin’ we hope to accomplish both!

My mother just threw my bridal shower here, and it was a fantastic event! From start to finish, Dave and Diane were incredibly accommodating, organized, and taught a wonderful painting class!
I’m not a traditional bride, and I really wanted something different for my bridal shower. This fit the bill perfectly — what’s better than wine and painting? It was an absolute blast, and all 24 of us laughed and smiled the whole afternoon. We painted a willow tree in Boston Garden, and it was a lot of fun.
The studio is beautifully laid out with plenty of space for large parties, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Also, their prices are more than reasonable! The location is easy to find, and there is plenty of parking. Their wine and beer selection was surprisingly extensive — they even have Prosecco! Even more extensive is their selection of possible painting choices. Dave teaches a class that anyone can follow, and he has a great sense of humor which is necessary with novice painters!
If you are looking for a stress-​free, easy and fun event location, this is the place! Thank you Dave and Diane for a fantastic bridal shower!

If you are looking for a relaxing, well organized and fun event… your search is over. We celebrated my daughter’s 9th birthday at Paint Misbehavin’ and we are still smiling after such a successful and engaging party. 14 young girls painted with focus and joy, snacked on treats, compared notes, laughed together, sang and ate cake while celebrating a very special birthday. The owners are talented, cheerful, giving, patient and kind with children. They have a special gift. I highly recommend this fine establishment. The environment is bright with beautiful artwork and sculpture, clean, neat (they even encourage recycling) and more importantly everyone feels comfortable in this welcoming spot. Many parents expressed a desire to have our own event one evening. This is a perfect spot for a GNO and I’m already working on it. Thank you for an amazing party! We’ll be back soon!

Highly recommend Paint Misbehavin to anyone interested in something fun to do for a few hours. It doesn’t matter who you are, this is something that will be fun for anyone. We had a great time painting, and the owners are very nice and helpful. There is a lot of great options to choose from, and their shop has plenty of great artwork all around. The music is good, and you can enjoy beer and wine as you paint. Nobody in our group has any artistic ability, but David makes it very simple to be able to come up with a painting that you can be proud of. It’s a fun couple of hours, and then you get to leave with a nice painting that you can proudly say you created. If you’re looking for something different to do with some friends and/​or family, this is definitely it. Check it out and help support the small businesses of Hudson. You will not regret it.

My friend & I recently visited Paint Misbehavin in Hudson and had an excellent experience! I had researched a few places to go for wine & paint and this was highly recommended by another friend and since it was close enough to our houses, we went.
The place itself was a little hard to find but very clean and homey inside. When we walked in we were informed that we were their only customers for the night which worked out to our advantage since we are total rookies and had zero experience with painting. Not only was David (owner & artist) very patient, he was a fun relaxed person with great music playing in the background. I felt comfortable asking questions and for help which he was more than happy to oblige. His lovely wife set us up right away with some good wine (cheap too!) and took some pictures for us. We had a very fun night and would recommend this to friends as a cool thing to do on «girls night» or with coworkers after work. All in all this was a great experience.

I recently took my 2 kids ages 8 and 6 for a painting session over April vacation. I had done this once before over Feb. Vacation, and it was right in the middle of the day (lunch). I was pleased that this time around it was at 10 am– allowing me to feed the kids after it was done.
My children has a great time– despite being young, they were able to follow the instruction and left with a painting they could be proud of.
The facility is clean and convenient. The owners were very nice and engaging. My kids had a great time and I hope they offer some more sessions tailored to children.
We will be back!
