«Home of the Giant Slice»

Our Objective: To provide alternative fast food that is healthy, tasty, and affordable. We use only the freshest of ingredients; our food is prepared fresh daily, and we offer a very reasonably priced menu. We only use natural ingredients, our menu is vegetarian (we serve no meat, fish or poultry), and blend spices that date back to biblical times and places.

We do not have or use a microwave for preparation of any of our dishes, and all baking is done on the premises. We offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. We cater to special diets in that we offer kosher food, halal food, vegan and vegetarian dishes. We believe in large portions: if the food is healthy, why not? Since everything is super-​fresh, you can take home your leftovers, and they’ll keep in the refrigerator.

We are deeply concerned about your dining experience with us, and welcome suggestions, constructive criticism, and of course compliments.

History

Established in 2010.

The business opened on October 1st, 2010 in order to offer low-​cost cuisine to the Hudson area that is kosher, halal, vegetarian and healthy yet filling.

Great lunch spot, had the buffalo falafel pizza, interesting combination, but they pull it off well. Staff was nice and accommodating. The garlic knots were delicious and the accompanying marinara was well seasoned. They give you a ton of sauce to perfectly coat every garlicky knot in delicious sauce.

This place is absolutely incredible truly one the gems of Columbia county .The service is outstanding and speedy .All the staff is kind and polite and knowledgable about all the items on menus .The quality and the freshness of the food is just unmatched in the area. Prices are vary reasonable and portion sizes are above average. I make it a point to visit when in Hudson keep up the good work.

Had to wait over 15 mins for my order and they messed up my order. I had soup, salad and falafel. The soup was a Iranian bean soup, nothing special, it was decent. I also had a Beet salad. It was very heavy on the beets. Idk what I was expecting but it was literally beets and a sprinkle of greens. And the falafel… oh wait, they forgot to put any falafel in my pita.
I understand that it gets busy, but I’m pretty disappointed that I didn’t even get to try the Falafel. I’m only visiting Hudson but if you want better service find somewhere else.

Came for the falafel… left EXTREMELY disappointed. What was served was so far from my experience of a good falafel… I don’t know why they they are still in business. The pita was hard and cold. The falafel balls were vaguely warm as if they were merely remembering a time they once were heated, and were jammed way in the back of the hard cold pita. There was some chopped lettuce, bordering on minced, with perhaps a tiny whisper of tahini sauce and a tad of cucumber. This salad portion was nearly dry. So what you get is a hard cold pita, some nearly dry lettuce/​cuke mix, which you would have to eat first to even get to the falafel balls. Horrible.
A good falafel pita has a soft, WARM pita, some diced tomatoes and cukes, smothered in tahini sauce, distributed among piping hot falafel balls. You bite into it and your entire body says «yum! Next bite please!»
Fail. Utter fail. Never again.

The only place in Hudson with Mediterranean food. So no competition ! The food is good but not great. The coffee is horrible. In general your options are so limited in this place.

Would have given five stars if I was reviewing a year ago, but turnover is high and there’s a learning curve with falafel prep. Three stars because these days it’s a crap shoot: half the time you get AMAZING food that’s well put together and half the time your pita is bursting at the seams and you get delicious tahini sauce everywhere. I once asked the owner how he made the tahini sauce so good and he said they put cocaine in it. Not sure how he affords that but I’ll be going back a lot more if they ever start selling the tahini sauce by the bucket.

Subpar tasteless falafel and doughy pizza. Big disappointment. The pitas, which must have been made from their pizza dough — were undercooked just like their pizza crust.

Wow, that was a disappointment. I came here with my mom, and both of us have had falafel many times, both in Israel and here.
We both ordered the falafel pita. The pita was soo bready, and did not taste fresh or flavorful. The falafel balls were not hot and were bland. Whatever they topped it with tasted like bland coleslaw as opposed to whatever it was supposed to be.
If you want really fresh and delicious falafel in the Hudson Valley, go to Abas Falafel stand at the Rhinebeck Farmers Market. i promise I’m not affiliated with them… I just know what good falafel tastes like.

This place is branded around pizza and falafel. I’ve had both several times.
Signature Falafel Pita: The falafel and humus is very standard. Not bad and not great. The drawback of this sandwich is the pita that it comes with. It’s oversized and extremely bready. They call it a «house baked pita» which essentially means that they take it out of a package and put it in the oven. Most times that I’ve ordered this sandwich, the pita wasn’t even warmed up. Just a gigantic, bready pita straight out of the package. It’s not good.
Pizza: The pizza is advertised as being big. That is its main selling point: big. You get big slices. You don’t get good slices, you get big ones. I’ve had several of the pizzas (slices) and they have all been very underwhelming. Hudson desperately needs a good, traditional pizza shop. This place is not it.
Redeeming quality: The vegan desserts. They are surprisingly good considering everything else here falls so far below average.

Having forgot about their outrageous $ 10 credit card minimum, I went there the other day for a falafal when I didn’t have any cash. I asked if they could let it slide once but they refused. I had been going there twice a week but I think I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Creative. Serves Israeli style falafel sandwiches, with hot sauce. Also serves falafel pizza. Great deserts. We left there very happy. Great owner. Brought samples over for us to try. You should try it too. Vegetarian — Kosher — Baking Done on Premises. And really clean.

Ate here once when I took a long Sunday drive through the Hudson valley just for fun. A slice of pizza with crumbled up falafel as a topping? Drizzled with tahini sauce? Sounds crazy, I had to try it… and it was awesome. Doubt I’ll be in the neighborhood any time again soon, but if I was, I’d certainly consider stopping in for another meal.

Being that this is the only Kosher «restaurant» in Hudson (or pretty much all of the Hudson Valley), it can claim to touch that market. The food however is «ok». The pizza is good and yes they have large slices. Being that my husband is Israeli he had a completely different impression of the place. There is nothing «Israeli» about the bean salad, so unless you are an Israeli than you wouldn’t know the difference. The pita are acceptable, but I find them to be a little chewy. My husband ordered the Sabich, and he seemed to like it, however again, the pita was bleh.
We will likely stop there again if we are in the area and want a quick bite that isn’t fast food, but this isn’t a place I would go out of the way for (unless again you are looking for a kosher place to eat).
