Tease Hair Studio

I cannot say enough about Tease Hair Studio. After my visit yesterday, it is no wonder they are ranked amongst the top 200 salons in the country. I received a smooth realignment. The price as better, by far, than any competitor’s price that I found. They also had a promo going where I received $ 60 worth of shampoo and conditioner for free! Nicole did an amazing job and was so attentive to detail. The atmosphere there is amazing and they offer free refreshments to all of their guests. I can say confidently that I will not be going anywhere else for my hair in the future! My before and after pictures are below. They speak for themselves!

I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new stylist. There are a lot of salons to choose from on Main st in Hudson but Tease is the place to go. They were able to get me an appointment that worked for me the day I called! Nicole was my stylist and she was great! She tweaked what I wanted to fit my hair and daily routine. I couldn’t be happier with my hair cut and experience with Tease. If I wasn’t happy with my haircut once I got home, they offered to fix it free of charge within two weeks. Nicole even gave me free samples of shampoo and conditioner she thought would work with my hair. I highly recommend Tease!

It is so hard to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair. Melissa sure does! I came in after a failed cut the previous day, and she sat me down and found out exactly what I wanted before she got to work. She knew to cut dry first to see where the hair would fall, and she told me stuff about cutting and caring for curly hair even I didn’t know. Curly girls, she knows what she is doing! My hair looks fabulous, thanks to her.
The salon itself is really cute and accommodating. I got a little welcome present for my first visit and some samples, too. An awesome trip to the salon, which can’t always be said with finnicky hair. I would have been happy to pay an arm and a leg for the job Melissa did, but the price was great, too! Thank you :)

They have such an excellent staff, location, and service. I was able to book an appointment yesterday for today before the holidays! Alyssa did such an excellent job helping to correct the darkness I had in my hair and did exactly what I asked for. Clean and decadent inside! Can’t wait to go back again.

I highly recommend Melissa! Had my first visit recently and she did exactly what I asked. Everyone there seemed professional and friendly. Seems up to date with trends. Prices are great, and I love the products they use.

The place is a dump. Rude staff, the serve stale snacks and they are over priced. Avoid this place like the plague.

Once again I received a Fabulous new cut and Color From Marie! I was nervous about going to short hair and Marie helped me picked a style for my curly hair! I love it so much she has an eye for style!

I am conflicted about writing a negative review, because I hate to hurt a business, but feel I have to warn others. I got probably the worst color/​cut there ever in my life last week by a stylist named Alyssa. I had been to Tease two or 3 times before and was happy with the stylist I had (Shawna), a really sweet and talented hair stylist. But this time when I called to get my usual allover brunette color (to cover grey), and one thin blondish highlight, really just a couple of strands, on each side of my face, and simple cut, I was told that she didn’t work there anymore. They have different prices for different stylists, a policy I don’t like — shouldn’t everyone who works there be the best? But, being on a budget, and wanting to cover the grey as soon as possible, I said ok to Alyssa and the charge was going to be $ 80. I didn’t make an appt. during that call and when I called back the next week it was suddenly $ 90 for Alyssa; apparently they had promoted her? When I arrived I explained very clearly what I wanted done — one color (I asked Alyssa if she could look at Shawna’s notes/​records for me and she said yes), the 2 really skinny blonde highlights and a simple cut. She did say she thought it would look better darker but I was very clear that I wanted the exact color Shawna had used. Somehow when Shawna did it, even though it was only one color it came out looking natural with some strands slightly lighter and some slightly darker — maybe it was the way she put it on or the amount of time left on? I also explained exactly what I wanted in my cut — again, very simple! She didn’t ask any questions or even really engage me in conversation! I should explain that I am very nearsighted so while Alyssa was working on me I couldn’t see anything so I kind of had to trust her. My first doubts occurred at the sink where she was washing out the color — she was putting on glaze, which Shawna had never done. I wondered if she was trying to cover up some kind of mistake. I was pretty horrified at the end result when Alyssa finished blow drying and I put my glasses on! The color was way too dark, ugly! and that flat kind of color you see in people who use cheap boxed color. The highlights on the sides of my face were not blonde but more like grey and way too wide (like big chunky stripes — looked like skunk stripes!). And totally uneven! Yuck!!! The cut was lousy and not what I had asked for. When I told her I didn’t like it she offered to get rid of the highlights with a toner and then quickly turned me over to an «assistant» named Taylor (I had to ask her name; she didn’t even bother to introduce herself). After putting toner on the «highlights,» Alyssa quickly left to attend to her next customer, without even apologizing for the fact that I was so unhappy with what she had done to my hair! The assistant took me over to the sink where she roughly rinsed the toner out, using water that alternated between too hot and too cold. Then she couldn’t find my part. I asked for a comb — she handed me a brush and I had to ask again for a comb! She handed me the brush again. (This whole thing would almost be funny if the results had not been so bad and my weekend plans had not been ruined!) She finally located a comb in a drawer and handed it to me — it didn’t look clean to me — aren’t they supposed to sterilize or at least clean things like combs between customers? What if the previous customer had lice or something? Then she proceeded to blow dry my hair in a way that was so rushed and so rough that it really hurt. Maybe I have an extra sensitive scalp but at one point I was ready to just get up and leave with wet hair — I couldn’t stand the discomfort (pain!) and the way I was being treated! I can’t help but wonder if there was an element of ageism here as well… I have never been treated like that in a salon! Two managers (I think they were managers) talked to me and were really nice — they didn’t charge me and told me I should come back and have the owner do some corrective coloring and try to fix things. I gave Alyssa a $ 10 tip for her time. But I will never go back! I was forced to cancel my 4^th of July plans because there was no way I was going out looking like that! I will have to go to another, good place where I’ll pay to have the color corrected. Dying it twice can’t be good for the hair and mine is already damaged. My time was wasted and I was not treated well. It was a really bad experience and a really bad result! If you go to Tease you might be lucky and have a good experience with a good result but, in my opinion, you are really taking a chance! I would not recommend it, that’s for sure!

I’ve been going to this salon for about 4 years now and NEVER had a bad experience. Jackie is AMAZING and understands curly hair more than anyone I’ve ever had cut my hair. Seriously, CURLY HAIR people — get to this salon! Everyone there is so nice and accommodating. They are constantly upgrading the salon and it is a very comfortable setting. I also had my hair done there for a wedding and it was absolutely gorgeous. They really take the time to make sure they understand what you want done and do it right. Love Tease! I recently decided to donate my hair. This was a big decision, one I did not take lightly! It was a huge change, and I was very skeptical about whether or not I could actually pull off short hair. I reached out to Marie A. at Tease, and set up an appointment for a cut and color.
On the big day, I got there a few minutes early and Marie sat with me for a while to help me decide on a style. She was open and honest about what she thought would work best for my hair type and the shape of my face. I needed something that would be low maintenance and easy to work with in the morning. Once we decided on a style… it was time. Marie put my hair into pig tails and asked if I was ready. She wouldn’t touch my hair with the scissors until I said it was ok to do so.
Long story short, (see what I did there? LONG story SHORT) I am THRILLED with my new hair style!!! Marie picked a color that was subtle and, more importantly, covered the grey! She totally transformed me. I look like a different person, and feel like a new woman. I love, love, love, my new hair, my new look, my new me! Thank you, Marie! You are the BEST!!!

My 2 daughters and I get our brows waxed by Marie. She’s fabulous and very professional. My youngest used to get nervous because the last place we went was a painful experience, but Marie is great with her and she doesn’t actually mind it now. The Salon is always buzzing with a lot of energy, it’s always busy yet the staff is always very pleasant and courteous.
Marie is very accommodating as well. It’s so easy to make an appointment with her. They accept all forms of payment and email the receipt to you!

Love this place. I had seen Marie’s haircuts on a number of women and was really impressed so when they ran a special for Brazilian blowouts, I had her do one plus cut and color. I can honestly say it’s the best cut and color I’ve ever had and the BB is amazing! Life changing. Thank you so much Marie. You’re the BEST.

Tease is a great local spot for an affordable, stylish cut. The staff is great and the space is amazing!

advance all I said was I wanted to do some coloring. I brought some pics of a younger me, and said I wanted to do some blond and some ‘refreshing’ of my natural red which has faded. Melissa listened to me, made some suggestions, and after some more discussion, she came up with a fabulous color combo. The haircut was also fantastic. All day today I have had women and men both tell me my hair looks great, they love the cut and color both. I love it!!! I feel like it makes me look younger! I can see myself coming here for years to come. Keep up the great work! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. They have a coupon on their website for first time customers as well. Definitely check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

Just had my second appointment with Melissa B. Many stylists will tell you they know how to cut long, curly hair, but I have learned the hard way that they do not. Melissa, however, absolutely does understand how to cut curly hair to maintain beautiful curls. I love my hair again. The bonus is the price. After spending years in the city, paying ridiculously high prices– I love this place even more.
If you have curly hair and need a stylist who truly knows your hair– ask for Melissa! You won’t be disappointed.

i love Tease! I’ve been going here since I moved to Hudson a year ago. Melissa takes care of me when I go in for my appointments. I typically get my hair cut and dyed here. I really challenge her since I change my color constantly… highlights, red, blonde, etc. She has always done a great job.
The salon has a great atmosphere, I love their color bar out back and that they provide a lot of products as well with a loyalty program!
I’ll continue to go here for my hair.

Absolutely love tease. I’ve had long hair for a very long time, but in the past year, my hair has become dry and damaged. I pulled clumps of hair out and it was constantly tangled to the point where I dreaded brushing it. It was time for a change and I was extremely nervous to get my hair cut short because I have friends that have had really bad cuts that looked like bowl cuts. I colored my hair with monique a few months ago and she did amazing. Everyone compliments the color and it looks great on me. But I was still nervous about how good the stylists were at tease. I booked an appointment online (very convenient if you always forget during the day and remember to book after they’ve already closed for the day). I asked for melissa because i’ve heard good things. When I arrived 5 minutes early she took me right away, I sat down and she was very open to my idea of a bob cut and gave me lots of interesting ideas. What I loved was that she understood my fear of short hair and she kept reassuring me that I would look amazing. She talked to me the whole time and made me feel very comfortable. She was very professional yet made an effort to get to know me more which I loved. I am absolutely coming back for another hair cut and color in a few months and I recommend tease to everyone! My hair came out soft, shiny and well above my standards.

This salon has gone through a lot of management change and they lost the friendly family touch, including customer service.
Really sad!

Adorable, classy and so vibrant and fun. Great stylists, great ambiance. Living Social got me there and that will be my back up plan when my regular salon is too booked for me! They definitely know what they are doing, the place is super clean, and the staff is wonderful! A gem! $ 35 for cut and blowdry? A STEAL!
