History

Established in 2006.

After a 30-year career in the tire and automotive industry working for his father-in-law, Jay Andrews ventured out with his sons, Jay Jr. and Judd, to open their own store. Starting in Stillwater, MN with virtually no capital and only a single bay in the back of an old Goodyear store, they began building their business while Jay’s wife, Debi, took a job at a furniture store to provide the family with health insurance until they could afford to get their own. The family’s determination surpassed the many road blocks in the way as they built up what is now one of the leaders in tires, wheels, automotive service, and aftermarket accessories in the area. Jay’s customer base that he had previously developed followed him as word-of-mouth passed the news of his move, continually increasing Tire Pros and Wheel Experts’ customer base.

JJ has been working with this company truly since day one, setting up our original tire installation bay in Stillwater, and using his 5 years of previous experience doing all of the installation himself. In fact, ever since he was a kid, JJ has always been mechanically inclined. Now, as Manager of our Hudson store, he uses these skills in his facilitation of workflow. In addition, he specializes in wheels and aftermarket accessories, earning the SEMA Z-5 Custom Tire & Wheel Certification. You can always depend on JJ for straight-forward advice.

Just got a new set of tires. They were expensive compared to competition and when I mentioned this, they dropped the price down to a close match. Service was good. Didn’t want to wait for the other place to order them in or drive to Woodbury.

I have been going to tire pro for about two years for oil changes. They tell me what is also wrong with my car after the oil changes, and sometimes it’s helpful. Sometimes it’s not at all I don’t little bit suspicious. So I always get a second opinion, and sometimes they totally agree. Sometimes they say there’s no need. Also, the waiting area has an overwhelming tire smell, and I can’t wait in there.

Made an appointment to get four new tires-asked for any deals and was sold «purecontact» tires for $ 106/ea. I added a $ 25.99 oil change. When I arrived at Hudson Tire Pros, I was told my estimate was $ 649.00…huh?
I asked why they did not mention the pretty steep additional fees when I called and the employee (Josh?) said his manager did not want them mentioned until they were face to face… not surprising. All this could have been ok but The male customer next to me was quoted $ 206 for two $ 103 tires installed –huh ?? Most of the staff were polite, the tires are probably fine, please watch for the automatic extras –they add strongly suggest you not send your mother or grandmother here.

I have been using Tire Pros for many of my repair needs since replacing my tires and wheels last year. I now use them for other issues, this time brakes. The quote was well explained and service was prompt. They were able to do the work the day I had them diagnose the problem and gave me a ride home to wait for their call. Paperwork is complete when you arrive, just sign and go.

Very disappointed with the service from this shop. They insisted on selling me four tires instead of the two I requested even though I had verified that two was sufficient. They clearly work on commission as four tires cost $ 1,000 and took them NINE hours. When I expressed my frustration the service manager was indifferent and completely unconcerned with losing my business.

Thanks to the guys at Tire Pros, I’ve always had them to count on when I need work on my vehicles, (Volvo Cross Country & GMC van) They are dependable and friendly. It’s nice to walk in or call in and they call me by name. It’s great to be able to get a ride home while my car is serviced, or if I have a busy day, they will usually have a reliable loaner for me. I would highly recommend them. Great job, guys!

Went here today due to them being one of the few places local that seemed to know what I was in need of with a recently lifted vehicle, and in need of an alignment. Was nice that the alignment rate was a flat rate, some places I called wanted more due to the vehicle being lifted.
The shop was clean and had a decent, and not over crowded and crammed together waiting area. Nice big screen with remote on the table so you can watch TV while you wait.
Staff was very friendly, and seemed pretty knowledgeable of what they were selling. My one gripe was that I had an appointment set up, but my vehicle wasn’t brought back until about 40 minutes until after my appointment time. They did explaine to me that there was another vehicle that was on the lift they needed that was taking a bit longer than anticipated, but I was ready to get home and go to bed. On the plus side, they were dog friendly. I had my pup with me due to being gone most the day, and it didn’t bother them at all and stated he was more than welcome in the waiting area with me. I informed them that he was potty trained and their reply was «We had one earlier that wasn’t, and that’s still no big deal.»
Overall, experiance was good. I would definately make an appointment though if you have to go in, most of the wait times I was hearing was about 2 hour for walk-in’s. Sound’s like they do pretty much all automotive work. They also have a pretty good deal on oil change’s if you buy 4 in advance, comes out to a little less than $ 19 bucks each.
I do most of my own automotive work, but if I needed something done, I wouldn’t hesitate to bring it in to this place.
