I’ve been on a bar-b-q mission, since having come off of a trip to West Texas, passing up hundred’s of restaurants along I-10, not wanting to stop out of fear of being utterly disappointed. Bobby’s didn’t miss my taste buds’ bullseye by a lot(my mind was stuck on my grandmother’s bar-b-q, so I was a tad bit bias). In fact, it is just as good as the more visible bar-b-q places in the area. It is right up there with Spring Creek and Tin Roof, in my book. — I got the link sandwich, with spicy bar-b-q sauce and it was a nice treat. Too bad Bobby’s it isn’t in a spot where more traffic would mean more exposure. When I stopped in this afternoon, the place was empty. After tasting the food, I felt it wasn’t fair that people are missing out on this.

Living in Humble there’s only so many places you can go to lunch nearby when you want to eliminate chain or fast food off the list. So when I noticed a new place in town good or bad I have to try it. Bobby’s is located where Texan Wild Burgers used to be in the same shopping plaza as J Christophers and next to Culvers… Not very crowded but I’ll chalk that up to the fact that it’s new and on Atascocita Road which is somewhat off the beaten path for dining. There’s nothing really different about their menu when it comes to other BBQ places, but the service was very friendly, the price is very affordable, and the food is decent. I had the Friday lunch special which was a BBQ sandwich(choice of sliced or chopped beef or rib meat)… I had the chopped beef. It came with a side and after cashier who turned out to be the owner what she recommended I had the potato salad because it was«grandma’s recipe». The salad wasn’t bad, but it had pickles mixed in and I’m not a pickle fan(though it was interesting that she recommended this after I asked for no pickles with my sandwich). I thought the sandwich however was good. Plenty of meat which was nice and tender plus a ton of bbq sauce(I love drowning my meat in a good sauce). Sauce was mustard based which I also happen to like. Throw the drink in and tax and the total bill was $ 6.48(normal price for this«meal» is $ 7.49 + tax) Another positive for these guys is that they deliver. Never heard of a BBQ joint that delivers but bonus! Add in the frequent dining card that gives you $ 10 off after your 10th visit and they go from A-OK to Yay! I’m a fan 4 star status.
