This place is HORRIBLE!!! Every time we have been here, we wait at least 2 + hours! It is ridiculous! The staff just ignore you! I WILL NEVER COME BACK and I will not recommend this place to anyone! Stay away!

Dr. Casey McCain is a horrible Doctor. She doesn’t take the time to listen to you. She is very snooty. She obviously does not care about what you have to say about your medical condition. I will never be seen by her again. She looked upset that I scheduled another appointment to get a refill on my prescription. She hinted around that I was abusing my drugs, and I needed help.

I had similar experience with Thalia, Kinsey, and Veronica below. I had an appointment but it took them an hour to call me in for weight and blood pressure. Then another half an hour wait for the doctor to see me. My conversation with the doctor took less than 5 minutes. Then they told me I had abnormality in my test result from LAST YEAR.
So I asked for a follow-​up on it. Blood was drawn, specimen was swabbed. I was told to call and check for the result in a week. For the last 3 days I’ve made several calls each day. Each time, without fail, I got directed to a machine that said the person is not available. I’ve tried different times of the day, too: early morning, late morning, around lunch time, afternoon, late afternoon, and close to closing time. I’ve left messages and my number asking to be called back because of my growing concern regarding my issue. Nothing. NOT A DAMN THING.
At this point, I firmly believe it’s not even a person at the end of of that phone line. It’s no doubt a robot set up to mislead people about the fact that they even have an option for test result.
I thought I better start dealing with real people. I chose the option to «make an appointment» so I could at least talk to someone. I explained my situation and asked for help. All I got was to be directed to the same freaking robot I’ve had to deal with all week! I am fully capable of calling that robot to waste my time on my own. Thank you very much!!!
Please don’t ever refer to yourselves as healthcare professionals. More like healthscare professionals in my opinion.

I don’t ever do reviews but since this office wasted 2 hours of my time in waiting, I thought it might be in order. I set up an appointment at 11:15 and arrived around 30 minutes early knowing that it would take longer since I was a new patient. The front desk ladies started processing all my insurance, license, etc. During this time, people were coming in and out and I was still sitting there. I asked a few times how much longer it would be and they assured me that they were just verifying information and it wouldn’t be too much longer. Fast forward to 12:45, two hours after I arrived, one of the girls calls me up to the desk and has me sign off on some papers and told me that they would call me back in a couple of minutes. I was already extremely frustrated and contemplated leaving a few times, but I was just happy that I would actually be able to see the doctor now. About 10 more minutes passed and the other front desk lady called me back up and informed me that «since it took her so long to verify everything, the doctor was going to lunch and I could wait for another hour» GOING TO LUNCH. I had been there more than 2 hours already and they wanted me to wait another hour so the doctor could go out to lunch?! I understand that everyone needs their lunch break, especially doctors, but that’s the reason why you make appointments. I wasn’t a walk in, I had this appointment set up and did everything right on my part. But because the front desk area was having issues, it screwed me over instead. So whats the point of setting up appoinments? If you like wasted time and frustration then I would suggest this office, otherwise I would probably stay away. I really wanted to like this office but it was just all a big disappointment.

No appointments available so went in as a walk in. The lady told me 45 minutes. Waited and waited. After an hour and a half I asked. There was a different lady and she said a minimum of two hours. If people with appointments keep coming it gets longer and longer. I left. Unfortunately our doctor joined this practice so need another one now.

Nobody listens to you. Nobody cares about you. Try and call to ask about results, you get transfered all the time to a machine. leave a voicemail and they won’t respond. The only way they respond is by yelling and cursing at them. I’m serious. Its like untrained dogs. Have prescribed me medicine before, and when it was on back order, they told me to «try again» Even though I was standing at CVS with them saying they wouldn’t sell it to me. You can get an appt really quickly… because they have no patients because they suck.

«We believe that all patients are entitled to respect and compassion from the physician and staff.» That is on their website, stating their beliefs! What a joke. The front desk literally laughed in my face, while I’m voicing my complaints. Their staff try to tell «you» you are in the wrong, and clearly do NOT want to try and help you! My husband went for an appointment to refill his medication. The medication requires a prior approval and we knew that. 2 weeks later my husband still doesn’t have his RX and NO-​ONE will help. We have called BCBS 4 times and HFP has not Sent the prior auth to the right place nor have they put the correct plan number in the request! But tell me I’m wrong! And laugh! Clearly not the type of place you want to continue to go to for your health care.

It’s all about the money and how many visits you can pay for even even for blood test results. If you appointment is at 2:00PM expect a 45 minute delay before seeing the doctor. It all about the $$$$ at this place and it’s their policy first and foremost. Sad to say but true. The turn-​over in office staff exceeds all others and must have set a world record by now. Every time I visit there’s new faces. I’ve never seen anything like it and has gone on like this for years now. Must be something in the drinking water or just plain poor management at the top.

Eeep. Not a good experience. I wanted to like them. I should have researched for a specific GYN, but when I was searching, Dr. McCain had specific ads that showed her to do well-​woman exams. I thought, it’s routine, so it should be pretty basic.
When I got to my appt, there was confusion because the staff hadn’t confirmed the appt, even though I was «confirmed» when I set it up online. I didn’t worry about it because they said someone else could help me, which again, was fine.
But…they took 1.5 hours to see me. I sat there in the waiting room and watched scores of people come in and out, and not having a clue why i wasn’t called, until I finally asked. After a few moments, I was finally called back. The staff that took me in and did the preliminary intake stuff were nice and friendly. I don’t have any issue with them at all.
The PAP itself was routine; Laura is friendly (the Nurse Practitioner), but after, I never heard anything like «Looks good» or «seems great overall» or «hmm, let’s talk about this that I see here…».
Zero feedback, leaving me to think «am I ok?».
THEN:
— it took a week to get pap results, when i was told I needed an RX for a routine finding. They called the RX in to the wrong place, twice, even after I clarified and they repeated it back to me. Thank goodness for the staff at pharmacy for straightening that out for me.
— I had no interaction with the MD at all… not Dr. McCain, or not the DO that is there also. I asked about some pain in my hands, and no response on how to help that. I asked about osteoarthritis and was told to take calcium.
The overall feel of it was honestly like a «free clinic» type of feeling. I felt that the other clients were there because that might be the only option that they could afford or that Medicare/​Medicaid might cover. (not a reflection on the patients, but a reflection on the overall care provided.)
The clinic is 30 years old, and it seemed well-​established. However, I don’t feel confident at all in their care as I experienced it. It’s a shame because I’m sure that the doctors who’ve run it for 30 years would be saddened at how it’s perceived by new patients like me.
Pro’s:
–you can get in quickly (i scheduled it online a few days before)
–they have 30 years under their belt.
Con’s:
–see all the above. Be sure to ask questions about anything/​everything so that you won’t go home and wonder if you’re going to live. :-)

I’ve seen Dr. McCain for years. She’s been a fantastic clinician. Never waited long for an appointment AND it’s always easy to get an appointment! You don’t have to wait weeks just to get in (which is great when your schedule is always changing).
The exam rooms are really clean. Dr. McCain doesn’t chart while you are in the room, she actually looks at you while you talk and listens to your problems. I appreciate that she lets me get my blood drawn at MHH’s lab so that it doesn’t cost any money to me instead of getting it done in the clinic. She knows her shit and how to treat it.
David, the PA, is very skilled at doing steroid injections for joints. I occasionally get severe joint pain /​bursitis. I had horrific pain for 3 weeks in my shoulder before I saw him. He did a perfect injection, some soreness later but then… relief. His steroid /​long acting numbing medication combo is perfect.
This is not a doc-​in-​a-​box. This is a legit clinic. Take the 3 minutes to make an appointment and you will be seen on time. Doing a walk-​in always has the risk of waiting. Expecting not to wait as a walk in? You gotta be kidding me. This is not a McDonald’s.
And ask to see Dr. McCain! She’s the best! She knows how to treat her patients!

First and last visit! Appt with Dr Snead was a joke. She appeared dazed and completely annoyed when I asked questions. Then she was supposed to call in a prescription and I waited 24 hours and the script was still not called in! Called several times, leaving messages each time and got a call 2 days later! then to make matters worse, meds she gave me didn’t help, so I called and waited another 2 days for a call back. Then I was told I was responsible for $ 90 of my visit, which In paid, then got a bill for an additional $ 175! for what? she didn’t run any test and barely spoke to me for 30 seconds! Then the nightmare begins. Left 8 messages for office manager Maria and 3 months later no one has called me back. WORST MEDICAL OFFICE EVER!

Physician assistant jake and David braumbaugh a nightmare !! Diagnose bronchitus, about 2 weeks prior to jan 27, took cherrytussin and antibiotic and still sick, wheezing, coughing. Went back in saw Laura sneed got Levaquin took 1 had reaction. Calked that night ¹⁄₂₆ left message. Jake calked next day and said dr Jennings would be notified. By 3:30 pm no call to change antibiotic as Laura sneed suspected pneumonia and had given me an order for a chest X-​ray. I still have it as she was concerned about pneumonia. On ¹⁄₂₇ about 3:30 I calked the humble office appt line and got they to Marlena at office asked if jake or manager could help as tge antibiotic needs to be taken till finished! Marlena said no one available she would lv message. I calked back spoke to Ashley told her concerns abd she said I had an attitude and hung up! Oh I was a little angry. Called back by now 4:00 Jacqueline picked up and was told they would give dr Jennings a message. Tge triage closed at 5:00 I was told. I said how will I know if tge prescription was calked in?! I was told tge pharmacy would call! So my fiancé and I went to the office. Arrived about 4:15. Sat there for a while. Jake came to desk and said he would talk to dr Jennings. So he and some gal go back to I guess talk to dr Jennings who I never saw! I did not see anyone sign in to see dr Jennings while I was there. Jake cones back and said dr Jennings said to stay on Levaquin! I said what! My whole body felt hit, my hands were tremoring at home and in office legs started tremoring! I finally got put back with David braumbaugh with my fiancé in room. Told David tge story and I was not doing well at all! He tells me to stop talking! I said can’t you see I am having a problem, he walks out and refuses to treat me! Wow! My fiancé and I walked out spoke with jake as it was now. 6 pm as no one in office as patients. I was very very upset, very very sick, wheezing, coughing and no antibiotics! We went to med spring in kingwood which is urgent care and saw the doctor. She listened to ny lungs as I told her story if tremors, heat with Levaquin and she changed it to doxycycline which I have now taken since jan 27,2015. I am expecting my $ 25.00 I has to pay to be reimbursed from dr caroenters office or I will take David braumbaugh /​dr carpenter to small claims court. Do not go to this office! Dr carpenter may have been good but his physicians assistant of David braumbaugh and jake are questionable. Along with mischarting, not including corrections on summary sheet and then working from only a summary sheet instead if the electronic medical records that the doctors do! Hopefully I can find a decent office with front desk, dr and understanding that a patient needs understanding when going they hell! Not to go to a doctors office to be walked out on with a witness to support this!

Terrible front desk service. Long wait and horrible medical assistant service. The doctor basically just prescribed pain pills after I complained of pain and asked to get an X-​ray or MRI done. I will never go back and I hope people avoid this place at all cost.

Horrible experience. Do not go here if you have anything other than something minor. I went with real concerns and was told to take a blood test. Nobody even called with my results. I received an email stating levels were normal. Not one person called to flow up with results or help figure out problem. I waited too long and was treated insignificant when talking to the staff. I hope I don’t have anything serious wrong with me. No one here would ever know. Go somewhere else!!!

IF you can get an accurate appointment… The awful experience as a new or prospective patient starts with their terrible customer service when you call to make an appointment. They use a call center that schedules for multiple doctor’s offices. Over three phone calls for two appointments, one for myself and one for my wife, the schedulers did not know the offices or their staff and were quite rude.
This last time, we were told that the appointment was for 1230 and to arrive at 1215 for new patient paperwork. We arrived around 1217 and were given the standard set of paperwork, which my wife completed and returned. We waited for about 10 minutes at which time the receptionist called my wife up. She processed the payment via debit card, and when she was handing back the card and receipt (after we’d been there for at least 10 minutes), she then informed my wife that her appointment was at 12:15 and that we were there over ten minutes late and that we she would then be considered a walk-​in patient and have to wait an undetermined amount of time to be seen (again, this was AFTER we were there for over 10 minutes and AFTER we were billed).
I was ready to leave then, but my wife needed to be seen. So we waited for 30 minutes with no communication from the reception staff. My wife re-​approached the counter and was told it would be at least another 30 minutes. We had our 20 month old with us, so I left and went home. And though they said 30 minutes, it was 50 minutes, for a total of 1 hour and 50 minutes waiting
Over both visits to the office, I have found the reception staff to be rude and dismissive. They’re quick to bill you, but very slow in great patient service.
This is Dr. David Carpenter’s practice and, if he knows about this continued style of patient interaction, should be ashamed of it. Patients need more humanizing care before they see a doctor, too. The new building and website look professional and inviting, but where and when the ‘rubber hits the road,’ drive your car somewhere else!
