In Color Salons

This is our second time at this salon. My daughter has long brown hair and wanted color for the summer. So…
Last year we were here and my daughter ended up getting a strip of neon red on her hair (originally she wanted the whole hair red). She liked it, but by mid summer it was more in the pink side.
This summer, we went back and even emailed what we were looking for (really dramatic colors… blue, purple, pink). We ended up with a rose gold (again looked pretty for a conservative look), hubby said it looked like a lighter version of her brown hair with pink tints to it.
We ended up going back to get a touch up, daughter is now happy with her magenta hair. Colors are fading, but we knew that would happen.

I had a great experience with Hayley. She did a really thorough job! Cut and styled my hair exactly how I wanted. I booked online for a last minute appointment which was super convenient! I had to bring my newborn baby in and I felt super awkward about it so it wasn’t the most family friendly place. Haha and I get that but I’m a stay at home mom and we have only been here for two months so I had to bring her. I’d go back though. Prices are reasonable. And everyone there seemed to have about the same amount of experience.

Haley is awesome!!! I originally went in a couple days ago for cut and highlights. Haley did an awesome job! However because of my indecisiveness as to how I wanted my hair, I went back in yesterday to request a change. She was so kind, patient and worked with me until I got the result I was looking for! All the staff here are great and very hospitable! I will definitely continue to return for myself and my daughter!

I found this place due to Unilocal and let’s just say that I made a great choice in going. I went today to transform my hair into something different. I normally have dark brown hair but I had a bayalage done previously. Brittney was great and really took the challenge of working with my thick hair. My hair looks beautiful and I love it!

My hair color was a mess! I just moved to Atascocita and needed a new hair salon. I found In Color using Unilocal and made an appointment with Kirsten. Kirsten worked an absolute miracle and made my hair beautiful again!
I highly recommend this salon! Everything from start to finish was a wonderful experience.

I’ve been to In Color at least three times now and I leave satisfied every time. I use the last minute appointment tool on their website to save a few bucks and while I have had a different stylist each visit, they have all been friendly and made sure I was happy with my cut before leaving. At one appointment, the stylist got through the entire cut when we both agreed she hadn’t cut it as short as I wanted it, so she spent at least twenty extra minutes so I would leave happy. Stylists suggest products but are never pushy or aggressive, which I appreciate. I love their late hours so I can get a cut during the week after work, too!

First time coming here. Megan was my hair stylist and she did a phenomenal job cutting my hair. She explain everything and was very sweet. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Amazing stylist, great color, very very good products the best Paul Mitchell salon I have ever been to

It took me 7 years to find this salon, and once I saw what a fantastic job they did on my friend’s color, I had to check it out. I started with a trim and style for a company holiday party, then came back and met Megan! Megan pulled off a miracle and took the time to discuss all the pros and cons of different color options for my hair type. She was so helpful, and said she would take the time to get it right, even if we had to stay after closing. Luckily, that wasn’t necessary and not only did she get it just right, but she didn’t damage my hair like all my past salons have, AND she cut and colored my hair in half the time it has ever taken me before. I didn’t know about the Unilocal check-​in offer when I was there, but it didn’t matter, because the cost of the service, plus 2 products, was less than half of what I’m accustomed to spending. I highly recommend In Color and Megan, specifically. I have unmanageable hair and she handled it like the pro she is.

I still think Gabby is great with cuts and I have thick hair that’s not super easy to deal with. I really wanted color services this time and that part didn’t work out. For some reason Gabby had to consult with the owner to figure out what to do with my color. I currently have an old auburn on my hair from about a year ago. I have been trying to grow it out but I wanted to just put a product over it to remove the warm shade. The owner decided I needed to fill out a release form which would provide the information for the color that was put on my hair a year ago. I decided after all that it was more trouble than it was worth. I am a busy mom and can barely remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, much less what brand/​color was put on my hair a year ago. I just wanted a level 7 cool brunette color. It’s hair color, not brain surgery. The owner made it very clear she wasn’t interested in my business. I still think Gabby is great with cuts but I can’t imagine coming back. I get my hair done to relax and pamper myself. This was not the relaxing experience I was looking for.

Great work by Wendi! My daughter had her hair colored and cut then the next day was my turn. I would highly recommend her work and the salon itself was very professional and welcoming. We will definitely be back

This is the most bizarre salon I’ve ever been to. I’ve never felt more unwelcome and uncomfortable. BUT i left with some pretty solid highlights and always get a great cut… so I keep going back. If you want to be offered water or even get a Hi don’t go here, but they do good work.

Michelle did a phenomenal job on my hair about 6 months ago… I moved and I’ve had 4 hair cuts since then that went horribly wrong. Guess who’s driving back from Austin to have Michelle do her hair?

I LOVE this place! I have been to countless salons in search of the perfect highlights and cut. Because I have natural hair, it has been a real challenge. The salon is located in the same building as my dentist, so I searched the reviews. They were mostly positive (you can’t please everyone, right?). I called and asked, specifically, if they had someone who was familiar with natural hair. I was told that Brittany was the expert. I made an appointment 2 months ago and I am hooked! My highlights are flawless and the cut has gotten me more compliments and requests for referral than I can count. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean and inviting (and 2 miles from my house), and Brittany is an awesome stylist/​colorist. I highly recommend Brittany’s work and look forward to a long relationship :-).

I have not been going anymore because the girl that usually cuts my hair is no longer there, and the girl that acted confident that she could do just as well gave me the worst haircut ever. I asked here to add a taper at the bottom to all the hair she just cut to finger length on the sides, and she, without saying a word, just buzzed the back of my head. She also did a very poor job blending my hair. It was just a mess and I had to get someone else to fix it. I was upset but it was obviously one the first times for her to cut hair. I think the issue is that In Color needs to vet their stylists better. I know they have a lot of great girls working there, but this was bad and I’m not gonna spend another $ 35 here again just to get burned. I wish they would just tell me where my old stylist went because she was excellent.

My first time coming here was This past Friday. I wanted to go blonde, but I wasn’t sure about it so I consulted with Martin first. I told him what I wanted & he listened and told me what he thought would be best for my hair because it’s really dry/​coarse. Then he started with a hair cut (first time coloring you get a free hair cut) and he did my layers super well!

Today was my second appt with Michelle and she is absolutely amazing! Every time I come in I usually bring a picture of how I want my hair to look and walk out looking better than the picture. From color to cut she is a true artist who perfects and excels in the art of hair. Always look forward to my hair appts and would recommend Michelle 200%.

My mom and I are so fond of this salon, we drive in 45 minutes just to go here. Michelle does my hair and her younger sister Jackie does my mom’s. Every time we go, we are warmly greeted and have such a relaxing time.
Michelle ombré’d my hair over three months ago in a style that assured me would grow out well and it has! I teach and coach at a jr high and and consistently receiving compliments and kids do not lie! She is open to new ideas and is so great at letting her creative mind work with what you want that even if you have a crazy idea, she isn’t afraid to go there. BUT she also goes over how you would work styling it into your usual daly schedule and so on which I really appreciated when I wanted bangs on a tight schedule with thick curly hair. I can’t wait to go back to her next month with my fall ideas and let her do my hair for the next season!
As for Jackie, she has done WONDERS on my mom’s hair. My mom had a keratin treatment about two months ago and Jackie has colored and cut it two times since then and it looks better each time! She is sweet and so creative that she has visioned both hair cuts and colors in her mind and they have turned out beautifully.
I am young and my mom is older and we both feel comfortable at this salon. Everybody is super nice there, the music selection is great, and you leave looking fabulous. Every time!

My sugarpie dropped by In Color, a new salon that recently opened on Will Clayton Parkway during our vacation trip back to our hometown. The interior of the business had an open, vibrant feel with high ceilings, many individual hair stations with large mirrors, a color bar where they mix a custom hair color you choose and a back washbar where they shampoo and condition. So what really differentiates this location from the others? The staff showed genuine interest in what your needs are using a friendly, experienced approach and they exclusively use high quality Paul Mitchell products to enhance your hair.
Michelle, the assigned hair stylist, worked on my boo’s hair — cutting, coloring and styling. The result… exactly the style that she wanted. As far as I am concerned, as long as she is happy, life is happy. By the way, her hair looks fabulous.
Jackie P, my hair care person, trimmed, colored and styled my doo. She took her time and provided an excellent style that’s professional. I received many positive comments from family and friends. Nice job!
We come back here everytime we are back in the North Houston area.
