I recently visited the Kirby drive store and I must say it was a disappointing experience. The salesman was incredibly rude and not the least bit helpful. He treated me like I was a stupid female who wasn’t worth his time. I was offended and told him so and walked out. If he treats everyone like I was treated he won’t be there long. Maybe I just interrupted his lunch. I have no idea if the products there are any good but if they are anything comparable to the customer service– run away. Don’t walk. Luckily Houston is a big city with lots of options

Carpet shopping isn’t the sexiest thing in the world. It’s an expense that most people probably don’t look forward to, but fear not — Roberts Carpet in Humble makes the experience completely bearable. Houston’s only Stainmaster Flooring Center, Roberts has a ginormous selection of carpets and has a longer warranty than any other place in the city. They are Houston’s oldest and largest Karastan carpet dealer(which is seriously luxurious if you can afford it). They have carpeting from $ 1.99 sq/ft to $ 20/sq ft. I went with a $ 2.49/sq ft carpet from Shaw and, while I was hesitant at first thinking that it wasn’t going to be comfortable to walk on, I love it now that it’s installed. If you go to the Humble location, ask for Tim. He seriously rocks! He spent a ton of time with me to pick the perfect carpet for my budget, and drove 60 miles round trip to personally come to measure my house for the carpeting. And, in fact, he shaved 50 sq ft off of what Lowe’s had quoted me, which saved me a few $ 100. He’s been in the business for 30 years and knows his stuff. The installation was excellent and completely professional. They use a higher lb pad than regular dealers, as well. Note: Roberts has a payment plan, but they add 5% to the total carpeting amount for that option.
