If I could rate them 0 stars I would! I waited 3 hours yesterday with my son for a learners permit! i would never go back! Definitely plan somewhere else! We waited to get a number, then waited again for it to be called. The numbers go in random order (not sequentially) so there’s no way to know when you’ll be called and you have no idea how long your wait will be.

Third day to try to get a title transfer, lines out to the curbs, angry people complaining to the one of two employees working. Yes staff sick off or gone for training. Staff is under INCREDIBLE stress!!! This does not help those taking time off their jobs not once not twice but three times! Drove to Liberty, no lines. but the law claims we have to go to our own county! (But you can go for drivers license –to Dayton or Liberty for drivers licences!?) Call your congressman c/​o transportion regulation 501.023 which forces texans to only go in their area of «domicile». we should not have to wait when government employees are available to help in other counties and others are overburdened. This is a burden to texas citizens who are filing texas forms not county forms!!! I will have to pay a penalty bc i will not have my title transfered in two weeks. The Texas dept of public safety is NOT the county dept!!! Time to call this an EMERGENCY and get help. NOT TELLING US TO DRIVE ALL OVER TOWN AND TRY ANOTHER DPS OFFICE WHICH HAS THE SAME PROBLEM!!!

I’m not one to give out one star reviews. In the case of the Humble location of the Texas DPS, though, I’d give zero stars if I could. This place is simply a disgrace to our state, imho.
To begin, I tried three times to get my drivers license renewed (I just moved back to Texas, so I couldn’t do it online), but the wait was more than 4 hours. Are you freaking kidding me? Four hours+ to get a license? Um, no.
So, I woke up at 5:00am and got to the location at 5:30am for their 8am opening. There were already 7 people ahead of me. When they finally opened at 8:05am, they told us that they were short staffed and that we were going to be waiting a LONG time (insert groan here).
Before I got there, I had gone to the DPS website, printed off everything I needed, and had it all checked off. Apparently, though, this lady didn’t want to help anyone and having my passport, birth certificate, insurance, registration, cash, and completed application form, it still wasn’t enough according to her. When I objected saying that I’d triple-​checked everything on the site, the lady said, «well, the website doesn’t have a lot of things right».
TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR RUDENESS. UNHELPFUL employees getting pensions paid for by the very taxpayers they’re so rude to. RIDICULOUSLY LONG wait times. For shame.
