The Little Gym is an experiential learning and physical development center offering children’s physical activities in Hunt Valley. We offer gymnastics, dance and sports skills classes for ages 4 months — 12 years. We also have camps, birthday parties and Parents’ Survival Nights.

History

Established in 2007.

In the mid-​1970s, The Little Gym concept sprang from the heart and mind of founder Robin Wes. An innovative educator, musician and kinesiologist, Robin envisioned a nurturing place where children could explore their physical development, while also growing socially, emotionally and intellectually. Although teaching physical education in a competitive setting was the accepted norm at the time, Robin believed there was a better approach. Instead, he created an environment filled with the spirit to achieve rather than the pressure to win.

Robin opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington. Since then, weve honed the teaching methods he set into motion, structuring them into an expanded curriculum, with each class building on lessons learned in previous ones. In 1992 the concept was franchised, spreading The Little Gyms methods and results across the globe. Today, children in more than 300 gyms worldwide experience the positive benefits of The Little Gym.

Business Owner

Lia and Phil A. are the proud owners of The Little Gym of Hunt Valley. Both have always been passionate about children and have wanted to do something that really makes a difference in children’s lives. After dreaming about owning a business for many years, Lia and Phil finally decided to put their dream into motion, and in October 2007 they opened The Little Gym of Hunt Valley. They fell in love with the philosophy and curriculum of The Little Gym and knew almost immediately that they had found the «right thing.» Of course their daughter Emily and son AJ couldn’t be happier about this and are excited to work in the family business!
