Great local bar, good burgers, the UBU beer sucks, why this beer when so much better out there. I recommend the place

Very nice place to get delicious bar food, warm service and relax in Hunter mountain area. The French fries are unusually crispy and delicious, and highly recommended. Probably best for small groups… not a huge place but a nice pool table helps.

Crappy bar with no real ambiance besides the wanna be bikers outside. Burger was moist and crunchy from being raw and burnt, and fries soggy. Only tasty thing was a pickle. The local bar people were rude to me, but I believe that is the way they treat non-locals. Seemed to have potential, but missed the mark. Not a place to revisit anytime soon.

Definitely satisfying after a long day on the mountain. Right below hunter, so perfect location. Got the chicken sandwich, pretty good. Great beer. They had the Ubu Ale from Lake Placid NY… So awesome! No real complaints as staff was nice, but definitely dive bar type-ish, and some things need to be cleaned(like their salt and pepper shaker lol)

Although it is pub food, a burger should come with lettuce and tomatoes and not just a patty on a roll. Also despite being in the middle of the skiing season on the weekend, they were quite overwhelmed with a group of 8(having only one waitress).

This review is for service only. I just called to see how late they were open(JUNO? It’s a blizzard) and the woman said, «what?» to which I replied, «what time do you close?» She said, «you’ll have to call back after 7 when the bartender is here. I’m busy.» What do you mean? I’m calling because I want to give your establishment money and you’re acting as if I am calling you asking you to groom my dog. Like, what? Who are you!

Great ol’ dive bar! Humungo burger. Very sweet staff. Overall a nice little bar to spend some down time in. Right down by the entrance to Hunter Mountain.

Had a great pub meal. Friendly atmosphere. Wonderful burgers. They did not mind us bringing in our kids at all. Found out a few hours later that my daughter could not find her ipod. I called McGregor’s and they had not seen the ipod. Not much later they called back to say they found the ipod. I had not left a #, the staff went to the trouble of searching for our #; and calling us back. You can’t get warmer than that. Love McGregor’s.

A nice pub on your way out of Hunter Mountain! Good local brews, good burgers, and good sandwiches! Worth stopping by if you’re hungry.

Ok, I just finished a whole day’s skiing and I’m famished. Since I just spent a mint on said skiing, I’m being cheap about paying for my supper. The mountain restos and cafs are ridiculous with their pricing. What’s a girl to do? *Cues Macgregor’s* Literally across the street from Hunter Mountain, Macgregor’s is a good spot to grab some cheap eats on your way home. Pretty standard pub food that hits the spot. I didn’t have great expectations when I walked in since the place is pretty much a dive, but hey, I was hungry. I went out on a limb and got chili. A bit too tomatoey for my taste, but hot food went a long way on that cold Christmas Eve night. Hot sauce gave it a bit more flavor. The burgers were legitimately good, as were the salads. They have good beer on tap too, so I was a happy camper. Plus, they have a pool table and video games for those people in your party with short attention spans. We had a lot of those…
