History

Established in 2010.

I love to shop. The attic in our home resembled a home goods store with dishes, lamps, and décor displayed beautifully. When I decided to turn that space into a bedroom for our oldest daughter, my problem was what to do with my treasures in the attic. A friend introduced me to a multi-​vendor site, and my problem was solved. I took a space and began to sell, it wasn’t long before I sold what I had, and had to buy more. I loved passing the great deals I found onto my customers and finding the unique things they wanted. My husband and I agreed that our own hometown needed a place where local crafters, and buyers could come together, a unique store for gifts: fashion, accessories, jewelery, and décor. We opened in the summer of 2010 in a small space in the Valley Courtyard. By the fall, we moved to a larger space still in the Courtyard, and right on Huntingdon Pike. My children named the store AddicTreasures, since I was addicted to shopping and kept my treasures in the attic.

I graduated from LaSalle with a degree in Management and Finance. After a rather boring career in insurance, I became a wife, and soon after that a mom. A new career in education and a growing family had me juggling. My decision to become a stay at home mom was based upon my husband’s career taking him all over the world, someone had to be there. Throughout the years, shopping was a constant. Shopping to find great deals and then being creative with my purchases since we were working off one salary and the kids were in steps. Combine the past twenty years, and here I am, an active member of our community, managing a family and business, and shopping to find the unique people and products that create AddicTreasures.
