APA’s Mission is to:

Provide an intensive educational program which cultivates in students the discipline, dedication, and commitment necessary to achieve excellence in the arts and to inspire our youth to become the artists and audiences of the future through academic, artistic, and aesthetic education.

We strive to create a scholarly atmosphere for talented young performers, writers, composers and technicians alike. We offer pre-professional arts education in a comprehensive high school setting.

History

Established in 1993.

How are we important to education?

Research suggests a direct correlation between involvement in the arts or arts education and heightened mathematical, reading, critical thinking and organizational skills in addition to better self-concept, tolerance and empathy for others.

APA provides artistic and technical outlets for young artists and arts enthusiasts in grades 9 — 12 on Huntington Beach High School’s campus. We train our students to focus on both their academic and artistic education simultaneously.

APA’s visual/performing arts courses fulfill the admission requirements for colleges and universities including those of the University of California and the California State University systems.
