Today I took care of my 3^rd ffl transfer with Kathy, great sense of humor always makes the experience great! Cheapest ffl transfers i know of, $ 60 out the door. I will definitely be back

Great experience! Kathy was friendly and very thorough during my guard card training. She’s willing to help if you get stuck on a question or concept and explain the reasoning as to why an answer is correct. I plan on eventually going back to train for my firearms permit.

After I read others’ reviews, I came here to do a live scan. As some reviews suggest, the lady was friendly and service was fast. However, like one review mentioned, her accent was a bit hard to understand. Or actually, I didn’t understand most of what she was saying because when I asked a question (how long does it take?, or what do I do now?, or something I don’t recall), she said, «I am going to kill you if you ask that one more time!» I am glad I got that part, considering what this training center is for… Apparently she had already explained the whole procedure to me.

7÷2014− I went to AKI office to inquire about becoming a guard. Kathy was very helpful, Honest, no Games. Kathy processed the paper works which was less hassle for me. The price was fair for my budget. Kathy is Great, Awesome and Superwoman. Thank you Kathy!!!

I had a very positive experience in training with AKI Security Training Center. I took both the Baton Training and Exposed Weapons courses. My instructor Jim Bowen was terrific. He went the extra mile for me in regards to additional ASP training required by my employer. The Exposed Weapons class was held at the Firing Line in Burbank. The class was not like some of the fast-​food style, take your money and run training that some other schools offer. AKI’s training manuals and videos exceed what the state minimum requires. They offer a more «in depth» style of training and Jim requires a 100% test score. I can’t speak for you but if I am going to be carrying a loaded weapon I want the best training available and Jim will make sure you get it. The fees are totally inline with the industry and include ammo and your choice of in my case a 9 mm pistol. I highly recommend AKI for all of your guard card training, permits, etc!

I wanted to take the CCW class and was told by the company receptionist to just show up at 2PM. So I went there at 2PM. Jim Owens told me to wait 2 hours, because he was teaching a class other than the CCW class. So I waited for 2 hours, but after that he brushed me off, because he wasn’t done teaching an earlier class. It’s really lame that there isn’t a reservation system for the class. I think it’s better off finding an online class, if possible.

She cut out a class because she says that its not in the module, and I believed her, now I have to take it again at another location because she wants me to do a different module that what I need. She lies and cheats all the time.

I just read the two other reviews which I don’t totally agree with, but everybody is free to speek, right? God bless the USA !
I came here (found it online in google) and ok the website was not supermodern, that’s fact but however I was more interested in obtaining a guard card ASAP and
they have a location in Huntington Beach so I called Kathy (not really hard to understand so I don’t agree with the other comment)
She was so much friendly and helped to explain how I get there and where I can park my car. About the costs (really really cheap price, thank you!)
And the most important VERY FAST ! Livescan fingerprint Application. She even submitted all the forms to BSIS while I was waiting andf she explained every single step how long it takes and where I can see when mz temporary guard guard became active. SUPER AND VERY HONEST SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER !

I asked her if she knows some good Security Companies and she gave me telephone number and address so I found a job very fast .
I will come back to get all my other licenses one by one.

i come here b/​c it is cheap. kathy is super friendly but kinda difficult to understand. i’ve met sandwiches that had more personality than jim. i’ve gone in for two ffl xfers and both times i was waiting to the paper work in the office jim took several long phone calls.
when my gun was shipped to their store i never got a phone call when it arrived. worst of all the hours here a pretty bad. i doubt i’ll come back and i’m not sure the money i saved by coming here was worth it.

I was looking for baton certification a while back and ran by them on a Google search.
Big plus was they advertised their rates and classes of instruction. Big bad minus sign was the fact that Kathy was almost impossible to understand over the phone. I’ve been on her side of the phone in a few industries, from A-​paper/​subprime mortgage lending and other sales and support positions, so I can usually understand people with «mush-​mouth» or with heavy accents. Not with her.
I also think there were some sort of other comprehension issue on her end; I told her I wanted the 8-​hour baton training and she replied saying «you need NRA certification.» That would be the case if I wanted to be an NRA-​qualified firearm instructor, but I was just looking for some addtitional training to make myself more attractive to security companies.
They seem to be an OK outfit, but I just had that communication issue with Kathy, so YMMV. You’d think she’d either be a little more patient, but they lost a potential student, so it’s their loss. :shrugs:
