Beach Front Cinema

Overpriced for old movies and can’t bring on your own food. Lines are long for vendors and course those prices are out-​of-​control in price. It was a fun experience to try, but I’m not sure we would go back.

Terrible experience! They are terribly disorganized. First it took an hour to get in to park and then walking to the check-​in they said no outside food or drinks (which is not stated anywhere on their site), only to find other workers didn’t know about that rule. They then proceeded to tell us to first go to the picnic area to eat but when we went around to that area another security said we had to check-​in first. Ugh! Very frustrating and disorganized. I did not have a good experience. Why pay so much money (more than other theaters) for a movie that’s already been out, on public property when you can’t even bring in your own food or drink?!? Makes no sense! Even at the drive-​in it’s $ 7 per person for 2 movies and you can bring whatever food or drink you want! I’ll think I’ll stick with the drive-​in. This is a cool concept and all but these money hungry *ssholes make it not such a nice time.

I attended the same event that previous reviewer is talking about. Agree about food 100%. All the food that we purchased was horrible, but 2 people in our party (me and my daughter in law) got long black hair in their food (Mac and cheese that was $ 15 per plate, but inedible even before we discovered hair in it). My daughter in law returned hers, and got her money back. I just threw mine in trash because I didn’t want to walk all the way back to the booth, and stand in line again. But about 30 minutes later I was walking around, and noticed there was no more line. So, I decided to approach the woman that sold us hairy mac and cheese, and just make her aware of the issue. I politely told her about what happened. She literally lashed out on me. Basically told me to go to hell. I was speechless. I asked for a manager. Not sure if the woman that came to me was a manager or not, but she seemed equally rude and unprofessional.
We already have tickets to come see Indiana Jones next months, but will not give a penny to those food vendors. Will definitely eat elsewhere.
Enjoyed the movie despite some technical difficulties. My grandson had a lot of fun with the «Inside Out» characters that came to play with the kids.

Just to be clear this review is only for the «Movie Event».
Got there around 5pm line moved pretty fast, be aware cause they will check your bags like the L.A.P.D but security and staff were very polite everytime i came across one.
We got a nice spot to settle in and relax, play some catch w. the kids enjoy the scenery.
They do you have about 6₇ diff. Vendors which i Highly recommend DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

1.chicken strip meal, which contained about a hand full of fries and 2 average strips cut into pieces! 8.00
1. «jumbo hotdog/​nacho combo @12.00 the hotdog itself was cold, ask the guy charging to please warm it up, it was if i asked him to give me the shirt off his back.
The cheese for the nachos had a weird taste to it and «luke warm» keep in mind all the food comes in small portions and is more like snack!
1.pulled pork combo@ 12.00 again not even hot, with a corn on the cobb, and a hot can of coke apparently they ran out of Ice.
1. Shock top Can! For @8.00 should had stopped at a liquor store 1^st.
If I’m not wrong every showing has diff. Types of Vendors. But these Food vendors had no type of politeness what so ever. And could care less about your Meal they just want your Cash. Trust me Unilocalers!
I would Suggest eating somewhere else outside of the beach before coming here. Or even maybe bringing a pizza and relaxing before going in. Remember you are at a Beach.
In about an ¹¹⁄₂ into the movie it completely shut off
Ppl started to boo and quite a few packed up and left, it took them about a good 5₁₀ min. to fix it by then I was freezing even More (my fault not enough blankets) We stood Only because my son wanted to.
Overall, I wouldn’t waste so much Money in this Event again you could easily just go to the beach and pick a spot around there And watch it for FREE! Have a bonfire and Stay warm.
Over Rated! Expensive! Will not spend on this event again.
But will be returning to this Beach.

Also I think you rent bean bag chairs for $ 20 each so feel free to bring your own seat like an oval hammock chair :)

Me and my family had a great experience! We saw Big Hero 6 and loved it! We went VIP so we got a cool beanbag and headphones. It did take a bit of time for the popcorn as the line was long but think there were having some power issues. We also had a tri tip sandwich which was delicious. Looking forward to other ones in the future!
*Suggestion: Arrive early to get a spot upfront if you don’t buy the VIP package.

So glad we now have movies on the beach in HB! Loved the bean bags and headphones but the line for food was ridiculous. Overall, my little brother and I had a great time so we’ll be back.

Waited forever in line for popcorn and drinks that I missed the beginning of the movie. Luckily I rented the headphones so I could hear the movie clearly from the line… plus they kept my ears warm. Next time I’m getting there early.

Very fun unique experience. I visit Huntington Beach with my family every summer and we are always looking for something different to do. Loved watching a movie on the beach. The bean bags were a great touch. Popcorn line took a long time, but the organizers gave some free concessions and gift cards to make up for it. Looking forward to the next one with the family and seeing how they improved this new event.

What a great time I had with my daughter:) Saw Big Hero 6. Can’t go wrong with a movie on the beach. Very unique, fun experience. Lots of people which made for long lines but there always lines at all events. Looking forward to the next one.

I think I was more excited for this event than my kids but upon arrival we were severely disappointed.
As advertised on the website and photos shown there this event was a bean bag, popcorn, relax and enjoy a night at the beach movie.
Right from the start, as we pulled the parking lot, we new we were going to be in for an adventure. We could a mound of unorganized people that were surrounding the one fold up table called the entrance.
The hired, sub-​contracted «security» checked bags more throughly than the airport. Good to keep us safe??? No merely to make sure no one was sneaking in food. I even had my months old bag of fruit snacks confiscated because I was using my regular beach backpack and they must have been missed after our last beach visit. Not only that, there was absolutely no organization. It didn’t matter if you were first in line or last you never knew when it was your turn. At $ 15 a ticket for regular and $ 25 for VIP you expect some respect.
We witnesses many, many people have to turn away because that had obviously brought their dinner along to only have to repeat the terror of unorganized «lines». Once inside the lines for food were an hour +.
They only offered average hot dogs, hamburgers, and pizza. At a high price. We thought were going to be getting bean bags as advertised on the website to only find out later they were only for VIP tickets or rental. Great at $ 25 a bag why not??? Oh they only had about a dozen or two for rent anyway.
The headphones were for rent at $ 3 each and for some reason it seems the volume most decrease because you can hear announcements for sale items clear across town.
Parking is still at the state beach so it’s a mere $ 15.
It’s really sad that this event use to be run much better by someone else and for free.

This is so lame! Nowhere on the website does it say no outside food! We brought dinner to eat on this State Beach. What right do they have to tell me I can’t have food on a state beach. They even said I could not bring snacks for my grandson! It was also so disorganized, the line to get in way to long and security was a joke as people were walking up behind them and walking in without getting checked. Totally a bush league operation. I want them to refund what I spent for dinner, they can keep my $ 15 for admission. A total ripoff, shame on them.
