I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN A REVIEW BUT BECAUSE I FEEL PEOPLE SHOULD BE AWARE OF THEIR LACK OF CONCERN FOR THEIR PATIENTS. THERE GOAL ONLY SEEMS TO BE FINANCIAL GAIN!
THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! IT HAS TRULY IMPACTED MY LIFE AND SELF ESTEEM !! I went to have a consult and an exam. I had been experiencing pain in one of my teeth. I explained to DR. FARANAK, I was out of work due to the death of my daughter and applied for dental cal. After the X-​rays and exam I was told I needed 6 root canals. I was informed that dentical would no longer provide root canel treatments in the next few months so they strongly recommended I should have all 6 done and all would be covered. I agreed to the treatment but upon my return to finish the now exposed roots they proceeded to tell me I was not covered for caps. I could not afford the amount they were asking so I asked if they could put temporary fillings till I could come up with the money to finish the work. They refused to put the temporary fillings in. I was devastated! They should have told me that there would be an additional cost prior to having all 6 teeth started. A year went by and I finally was able to get dental insurance but because of the refusal from them to put temporary fillings in, I have lost 3 of the 6 teeth that they preformed the root canal treatments on and I am trying to still save up money to have implants for the 3 remaining and a bridge for the teeth that had to be removed. I no longer can smile because my 3 front remaining teeth are turning brown. I can no longer smile because they did not wish to help me when I needed it most.
NOT COMPASSIONATE OR UNDERSTNADING TO PAITENTS NEEDS!
THEY ARE GREEDY!
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR SWEET DEMEANOR! ASK FOR EVERYTHING UPFRONT BEFORE STARTING ANYTHING WITH THEM!

I had a teeth cleaning and two cavity fillings recently and they were very professionally done. Quick and painless. Very highly recommended.

Don’t go here! Drove 45 minutes to try to be sold a $ 150 toothbrush! No cleaning was performed. Said she couldn’t give me basic cleaning even though my insurance covered it and tried to get me to pay for an intermediate deep cleaning? Sorry, had a real deep cleaning from my last dentist 6 months ago! Try to rip someone else off to pay for your next face lift :)

These dentists are a family owned enterprise who treat their patients as family. Run by two sisters, the quality of care and professionalism, is the catalyst for a five star rating.

I’ve been going here for years. They love my family and I take my three kids all the time. The sisters are awesome!

One of the more mundane pleasures of life is picking out your next meal via Unilocal.You can drool at the gooey grilled cheese and eagerly bookmark away. Anticipation is part of the experience.
However, finding a dentist (even on Unilocal) is about as fun as going to the dentist. It’s not like a menu where you can choose what you want and say «oh well there is always dessert» if it disappoints. It’s your teeth and they are much more finicky and subjective than your taste buds. So I have to look at factors beyond my subjective treatments when reviewing this type of establishment.
If you are anything like me (previously avoiding for every and any reason) and were finally compelled to go, Big Dental Group is the best way to do it. First, you are treated like a desired client, not just a patient. The reason this is so important is because you are still spending money (one of those avoidance reasons). You may be there «because you have to be», but Big Dental Group does not make you feel bad for your poor decisions (you have probably done enough of that in your head). All personnel (from reception to the doctor herself) have a positive «bedside» manner.
Equally important is the efficiency; I’m never in the waiting room for long. And thank you for playing relaxing spa music instead of that awkward Jazz station heard in every freakin’ other Dentist office I have been to. What they don’t skimp time on is answering questions and ensuring you understand your plan to recovery. Also, yes I want to be babied and I very much like that throughout my procedures I am asked how I feel.
If you have a hectic schedule, you are limited to the days your doctor is in; however the office is very helpful when I had to reschedule to a later time the day of my appointment.
Cleanings, inlays, and root canals are by no means a day at the spa, but afterwards you feel a little sheepish for waiting so long for nothing.

Seriously unbelievable how lowly this office is rated. I think this is one instance that Unilocal has failed. ALL the filtered reviews seem to be 5 stars.
First of all, three cheers for this all female dental office. So happy my daughter got see awesome women like these.
I am a single mom and having been without health insurance for a very long time. I was terrified to find out the damage I had done to myself by going 5 years without a teeth cleaning or check up. Overwhelmed about finding a dentist for myself, I called 1800 Dentist yesterday morning and they got me an appointment for that same afternoon. I was thrilled and apprehensive.
The receptionist was helpful and thorough. She seemed VERY knowledgable about maximizing my insurance coverage which trumps any and all personality problems described in other reviews (which I did not experience). The dental assistant was sweet and funny and professional. My young daughter came with me and all of the staff had kind things to say to her.
I saw Dr. Faranak Bigdeli, very lovely, professional woman. After a thorough exam she gave me a lengthy list of procedures that she recommended from vital to preventative to cosmetic. The receptionist came in to the exam room and explained all the cost to me and what was covered. I selected the procedures to have that day, paid my bill, and I was on my way.
Yes I did wait, yes the estimate contained procedures and techniques I don’t want to pay for but the Doctor doesn’t know my budget or my overall oral health goals over the rest of my life. Is she supposed to look at my shoes and judge how much money I can pay for my teeth? If one’s main objective is only to prevent one’s teeth from falling out of their head as inexpensively as possible this may be the wrong office for you. She was there with 3 patients at once and only one assistant until after 6 PM. My hairstylist can’t even do that. I think this office belongs in Newport Center not on Beach and Ellis.
Shame on the other reviewers and shame on Unilocal for filtering their reviews.

On my first visit I found the staff to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable and couldn’t be happier. Big Dental Group in HB is my new dentist!

It has been 2 or 3 years since I was here– this review is a little overdue. I was discussing dental practices with someone and this reminded me how horrible my experience was here so I looked them up on Unilocal.
I had never had a cavity in my life, and was told when I came in for a cleaning I needed 4 fillings. It had been a few years since I went to the dentist so I supposed perhaps my teeth had taken a turn for the worse, and went ahead and let them fill them (they refused to clean my teeth without the fillings). Then for my «cleaning» they blew air on my teeth and called it a day (?). They also told me I had many other «small cavities» that I should get filled for «prevention».
I have since found an amazing dentist so go regularly to him— one of those «cavities» they filled had leaked so he had to redo it. That was very frustrating (and expensive since I had to be rebilled for it). In the 2 years I have consistently gotten routine cleanings, no cavities have been found by my current dentist.
Just based on my experience and the other reviews, I do not think this is a coincidence. Seeing the other negative reviews, I had to share my experience as well to save unsuspecting people from being scammed.

It was awesome.
I had root canal appointment without any problem from A to Z with the best price.

Im not sure whats up with the reviews but I guess everyone has their own experience. Big Dental Group has a very nice and clean office with newer dental equipment. Upon arrival I was the only one in the waiting area and they had me fill out some forms and lead me to a dental chair within 10 minutes. Unfortunately Dr. Faranak Bigdeli didn’t see me until about 20 minutes later. I was losing my patience already sitting in a dental chair that long. After a thorough exam she did an excellent job explaining the procedure I needed. She then had me sit there and wait for the receptionist to go over billing and schedule my next visit. I was in that seat waiting for another 30 minutes at least! The entire visit took about 2 hours. I would love to have given 5 stars on this first visit but the waits were extremely long. I will be returning to complete my procedure but I hope by then they will get this waiting thing sorted out. Hopefully I can leave a 5 star review about my next visit!

I Love, Love, Love, Dr. Faranak Bigdeli’s dental office is the bomb, reviews from me are rare but I’ve had such a hard time finding a dentist office that I like and I really, really like this place. I’ve always dreaded going to the dentist, but since I started going here I’ve found it doesn’t bother me anymore at all. It feels more like going to visit friends than going to the dentist, if I would of found this place years ago I would never of let my teeth go to crap and would of went every 6 months like your suppose to. I have once again let my teeth go for way too long about 4 years this time to the point of serious pain, barely able to chew food anymore. and on top of that I’m disabled on S.S.I. so I am broke and the only Ins. I have is to get a basic cavity filled or a tooth pulled. I never realized that the way your treated had such a huge part of why I hated going to the dentist. I’ve been going to the bigger dental offices Nprt Dntl and Bch Dntl for years here in H.B. and you would think since they have so many offices, and customers that they would be the best quality and cheapest route to go. They buy so much dental materials and get such a good deal on it they would be able to pass on the savings, wrong It’s been totally the opposite I’ve found they treat you like just another robot coming in to give them the most money for the most generic dental product they can get away with, I always feel like I’m dealing with some shady person at a used car lot when I go there. I went to all three dentist offices to get x-​rays since I knew I had so much work to get done and was selling everything I practically owned to get my teeth fixed so I had to try and be smart, and I found Dr. Bigdeli’s was way cheaper to get way better quality product. So far I’ve had a couple crowns put in and some cavity’s filled etc. and they have totally worked with me financially. I have been short on cash by a couple hundred bucks and they went ahead and did the work anyway with the better product after they had already completely discounted the procedure in the first place just to help me save my tooth, like they actually cared about me being able to continue chewing food and didn’t just offer to pull my tooth which has happened to me before at N.D., I could of just never came back to pay them and they would have been screwed which of course I didn’t I paid them as soon as I got the money, but it just gave me that much more love, respect for them, oh and on top of everything they already did for me I was in the dental chair when I got a text from my friends were going to have a benefit for a friend of mine with non-​op cancer, that some friends I haven’t seen in 20 years would be at, and when I went back to get my crown finished, I had this big chip, gap in my front teeth from a car accident that my bonding had fell out of which she knew I was totally insecure about, and out of the blue when she was done with the crown told me to sit back cause she was going to fix the gap even though I didn’t have any money to pay for it so I didn’t have to go see all these people I haven’t seen in years looking like «Buck Wheat». I was able to go and smile showing my teeth the first time in like two years I mean who does that what dentist is going to spend 45 min for her and her assistant Evelyn who is also the bomb, super nice and knowledgeable, to do something like that for free when you didn’t even ask them to. There office isn’t huge but I kind of like it that way, they seem to work as a team really well and spend more time focusing on just you, rather than a larger office where there all over the place, I have so far never waited longer than a couple min for anything, I used to sit and wait for an hour or so at a time sometimes at the other bigger places and it sucked. There super knowledgeable and patient to all my back seat driver dental questions I have, maybe I have seen one too many dental Youtube videos. from what I’ve seen they also seem to be really good and patient with kids. I’m not sure if this matters but all the girls seem to be easy on the eyes and Dr. B. is a total «Cougar» LoL no I’m just joking but she is really pretty though, so it helps make getting your butt kicked by a dental drill as enjoyable a getting your butt kicked by a dental drill could possibly be, You can go every 4 years to the dentist and get your butt kicked, or you can go every 6 months and get a tickle, the 6 months thing will save you a small fortune in your lifetime and will also save your teeth. Bottom line whether you go here or your able to find another dentist that you really like please do yourself a favor and stay away from the larger dental offices with all the coupon scams and find a smaller dentist that actually cares about you and will work with you as a human being, your teeth will thank you:) Hopefully the ending of a relationship will be as good as the beginning for once, so this review is to be continued as I get more work done here.

Do not trust this dental office — used to be fair — but now just after the almighty dollar — always trying to up sell you — this is my first Unilocal review because I feel so strongly that this place is a rip off. They lied to me out right — basically called me a bad mom because I wouldn’t accept there high priced options — refused to do the lower priced options outright. Received opinions from other dentist that supported my plan — called there opinion worthless and uninformed — even though that is where they recommended to go for my sons wisdom teeth. LIES, LIES and More Lies — Biggest liar of all — Mary –Office Manager — she should sell used cars!!!

I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. I always got a treatment plan for my kids that never had cavities. Each time I went I got an estimate of $ 400 to $ 500 for miscellaneous things, including things my insurance actually covered.
One time I said I would come back for the sealant ($ 100 a tooth), the hygienist at the time (no longer there by the way) told me in hushed tones I can do the sealant your insurance covers. While I was holding $ 900 in estimates for my twins and a application for care credit the receptionist gave me.
This was after I had paid for sealants in years prior and deep cleanings they said were needed.
My poor kids always felt so bad that we would get this bill after they did what they were suppose to and didn’t have any cavities, Joke!

I purchased a groupon for a cleaning and exam pictures. I usually see my childhood dentist, but it had been three years since my last exam and I was way overdue. Do have insurance so the groupon was close to my house and cheap. I did end up upgrading to a deeper cleaning for about $ 100, since that been the norm for me. They did tell me I needed to have some other work done in which I received a quote. I will be waiting on the work for now due to my finances. They all were very kind to me while I was there, no problems, and even was nice enough to push my appt back since i was running late. I did see the blonde dentist and I thought she was very professional.

Zero stars would be given here if I Unilocal would let me. We got my wife’s Lumineers done here and they made a few mistakes in matching the color or shade of white. After a 2 hour argument and the arrival of Huntington Beach Police, we left with a $ 650 check (the price of one Lumineer that we were unsatisfied with) and never went back!!! I’ve told as many people as I can to never go to here! F#&k them!!!
Oh yeah, they are Big on up sells like the Zoom Whitening that they charged us $ 400 for… What a waste of time and money!!!

Dr. Big Deli and staff are amazing! They are kind and honest. While Dr. was performing a filling she noticed that I did not need a crown that she could save most of my tooth. (the cost was more but she stuck to the original quoted price)
Dr. always stops in to say hello and check on you even if you are just visiting the assistant that day. The office and the exam rooms are clean.
The staff are always happy and pleasant. I would refer them to everyone.

DO NOT go to this dentist! I started coming here last year and they rip you off! I came in for a routine dental exam and at the end of the it she told me that since she did some scaling (scraping your teeth) that she was going to charge me $ 90. I freaked out and told them I wasn’t going to pay it and walked out. This place is never busy because they can’t keep repeat business. TERRIBLE!!!
They don’t even deserve one star!

its been about 8 months since i got fillings done there 2 of them fell out!!! while flossing
they did not do a good job at all!!! i called them to tell them about it very rude over the phone. They said its my fault and i had a big cavity!!! im a single mom and now i have to pay all over… to get the work done for the 2 time. you would THINK a FILLING would last longer than 8 months… do not go there the work is half ass they might be nice but bad work!!! then they wantes 2,500 to fix it !!! NEVER GO THERE IM TELLING YOU BAD WORK YOU WILL PAY AGAIN WAST OF MONEY
