Thank you for an awesome parental workshop and very useful assessment.

While I understand and can appreciate the measures used for their assessment methods, there are much error variance not accounted for. First and foremost, the people appeared to be in a rush to get through the assessment with the kids bc the line was rather long. Also, seeing that they were rushing through, it made me question whether they made the concerted efforts to properly assess the kids. Truth of the matter, 25 mins to assess a child is flawed in my opinion. Another major error not accounted for is the kid’s personality. After going through our son’s evaluations, we realized that he masters the majority of skills he was tested on yet received scores far lower than his capabilities. For example, he was lower than average on gross motor skills when in fact this is one of his greatest strengths. However, he is quite shy when in a different environment and with people he does not know – especially when they are just rushing through, therefore he tends not to respond as he usually in does in his natural environment. We know our son and how incredibly active he is, it was apparent that the staff hired by this company are folks just looking to make each work day easier by not trying to help the kid become comfortable enough to demonstrate their true skills and abilities. Beyond that, at the parent meeting conducted to go over the evaluations, the staff members suggested that a bilingual family should defocus on speaking both languages in the household until the child has advanced to completely reading in English. Once this was suggested, I no longer took this co. seriously bc again, they have clearly not vetted the people they hired. For other parents out there, do not let this co. stress you out regarding your kids. You know your kids best and what’s best for them. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

I would be very careful with the outcomes of this company’s assessments. Please, read my attachment. How can any four year old’s kindergarten readiness be understood in 25 minutes? So many professionals disagree with this kind of use of testing. This company has a hand in keeping children in preschool. What is their motive and what is your preschool’s? You know your child! Make the best choose for YOUR child! It is reckless to push parents to make a lifetime choose that is not balanced. After further and more professional testing I found their assessment to be incorrect. If I could save another mom this kind of stress — I will be happy.

Bonnie Bruce has assessed two of our children and her assessments were thorough and accurate. She has gone above and beyond for our children and even attended one of our daughter’s IEP meetings. She has made herself available to us several times to answer each of our questions and concerns. Bonnie is an expert in the field of children and education and her knowledge and professionalism exceeded our expectations. We are grateful for her services!

Not convinced that this facility can give an accurate assessment with a 25 minute test. The testing is done back to back and after I took my child to two other places for a second & third opinion it was determined that the majority of the Chancy Bruce testing results were disagreed with.
