Best tacos in Orange County for the price! As a plus the owner is such a great guy and will give you free pineapple juice if you ask! You won’t be disappointed.

UNDISPUTEDLYORANGECOUNTY’S BESTTACODEAL! Authentic Mexican street-style tacos for a measly $ 0.50 per taco! Outstanding! The tacos are legitimate too. Full flavored, well seasoned meats — which includes asada(beef steak), al pastor(Shepard style pork), chicharon(fried pork rinds), surtida(assorted pork), buche(pork stomach), cabeza(beef head), pollo(chicken) — generously topped on moist palm-size tortillas. And to sweeten the deal even more, free iced pineapple drink is offered to all customers!(Just remember to ask for some after ordering a menu item.) Other menu items include burritos and tortas. The tacos are a bit small but do not fall short on taste. Every meat option had a real savoriness, subtle sweetness and an herbal essence. However my feeling is they do not use top-quality, fatty and juicy meats — the most essential ingredient at all top tier taquerias.(The meats were all slightly dry.) Regardless, taco enthusiasts would be foolish to skip out on this deal. If you are ordering it to go, all plates will be covered with saran wrap to keep the food warm and from spilling over. There is not a better deal to be found!(If you do find a taco under 50 cents, I would exercise real caution.) The tacos taste fantastic and do not forget about the free pineapple drink! CASHONLY

Absolutely love this food truck. If you get there early they offer free juice while you’re waiting for your order(while supplies lasts). The prices can’t be beat! Even though they are small tacos they are really worth it. They also have other items like tortas and such. I always try to go before/after I go to the beach or when I’m in the area. Try it & become a fan just like the rest of us!

I loved this place for a loooong time, I put aside the fact that there is obviously no kind of health department standards and who knows what I’m eating lol, But after spending last night in the bathroom I have to say good bye. :(Thank you for the pinnacle juice, and the cheap tacos.

0.50 cent tacos(30 or more)!! Can’t beat that deal. Order 30 tacos to go as we were heading to a local brewery. These tacos hit the spot with our booze. All the taco meats are flavorful and filling for their size. If you are ever around the area, you definitely need stop and try these delicious tacos.

Food truck that is simple & delicious. When I picture a street taco this is it! Can’t beat the price 2 tacos for $ 1. They are small but full of flavor. Not a long wait, but there isn’t any where to sit, not a problem I ate in my car. I tried the asada, pastor, carnitas, & chicharron. All were delicious, & staff was friendly.

It’s easy to miss this truck, since it’s located in a discreet area. For the price(.50/taco and $ 3/burrito) I can’t complain. Wished they had the pineapple agua fresca, but they ran out. Food is also packaged really well(though, there is really no need to use so much plastic and styrofoam: l). Anyway, check this truck out! Especially if you’re visiting the beach a couple miles down(make sure all the plastic and styrofoam don’t end up in the ocean!)

Gotta give em 5 stars for pretty good tacos at the low low price of 60 cents each. That is outrageous! I mean, they’re small, but not absurdly so. Three tacos, maybe 4 is a respectable number to eat– and if you do the math correctly, that’s under $ 3 for a satisfying meal! What a fiscally sound decision I made to eat here. The lengua(tongue) was my favorite; the meat was really tender. I was not nearly as impressed with the carne asada and carnitas. Order the lengua, and you will have made the best decision of your day.

This is the place to go if you’re on a budget and watch some easy tacos, burritos or a torta! My favorite is the torta asada!

Of El Chavito’s over 290 Unilocal reviews, their 50 cent tacos(which have become Unilocal legend) are sure to be referenced again and again and again. Sooner or later, though(as everything else, anyway), prices climb. And El Chavito’s is no exception. Taco prices have increased… by a dime. A dime! =] So let’s not let that ruin our day or anything.(The world is much bigger than that.) Besides, the 50 cent price is still alive and breathing, actually: when ordering 30 tacos or more – and there’s an extensive list of tacos to choose from – you’ll still get that two-quarter price. Cabeza, asada, and carnitas; al pastor, buche and lengua; chorizo, cesos, and pollo; chicharron(my favorite!) and even surtido: they’re all there! And, matching their tasty price, El Chavito’s tacos are simply delicious! Parked a bit inconspicuously along Morgan Lane(many cars line the street, if you’re arriving later in the day), El Chavito may have a small line, as many customers appear to be taking advantage of the 30-taco special. And why not? When a mere $ 15.00 can easily feed a family, you’d expect a bit of a wait, wouldn’t you? Or maybe you’re bingeing, hoarding all 30 tacos for yourself. Well, you go! Nevertheless, if you’re planning a crawl around the HB area, El Chavito’s should definitely be on your list. Bring cash!

Can’t beat the price! .60 cents tacos and free pineapple juice! Mmmm… All the meats are super flavorful & it’s also super filling! If you don’t like eating two tortilla, you can request to have one tortilla for each taco instead! Lines can be long during lunch hours but it’s worth the wait! I also got this togo before and the packaging was so cute, it was still tasty after an hour!

$ 0.60 tacos, every day. If you order 30 tacos or more, each taco is only $ 0.50. Free pineapple juice(if you ask for it, and until they run out). The tacos are delicious and they have so many different meat options. And, they pack it super neatly for you if you take to go so it isn’t messy. I recommend El Chavito Taco Truck to any of my friends looking for good, cheap tacos in OC.

The fiancé and I attempted to attend the«Total Wine» food truck event they host every Thursday evening and found nothing that we were into… So I Unilocaled«Carnitas Tacos» and this little gem came up. I thought it would be a shot in the dark to find the food truck situated in this little neighborhood at 4:15 on a Thursday, but there it was — nestled on the side of the street with about a billion other cars. We ordered carnitas and al pastor and loved them both! All for the luxurious price of $ 3.50!!! The only thing this hum-bug-taco-stand is missing«son cervezas»!!! Can’t wait to try this place again. Oh and don’t be alarmed if you show up and all you see are perhaps«sketchy» looking individuals standing and waiting for their tacos — in my opinion, this tells you the tacos are legit! Cash only Ask for salsa BYOB if possible Nowhere to sit so eating in your car is VERYLIKELY

I’ve been going here for years now. I’ll keep it short and sweet: +bomb tacos and hamburgers +cheap(who can turn down 60 cent tacos?) +fast service, given how crowded it can be during peak hours +owner will occasionally give our free pineapple juice, depending on supply –neighborhood parking. It can tough to find and you might have to park far during peak hours

Stopped by for a quick bite and bought 4 carne asada tacos. Pretty random location next to a neighborhood. The menu item is pretty simply: mostly just tacos, tortas, and drinks. The tacos are 60 cents each. Still a pretty good deal. Quick service. The carne asada tacos are BOMB. Lots of flavor! I would highly recommend.

Chavito’s is the bomb! I’ve been eating tacos, burritos and tortas from this truck since high school. The high quality over the past 6 years is still the same! This taco truck is nestled in a residential neighborhood on Slater between Beach & Gothard. Tortas & Burritos: $ 3 each Tacos: 60 cents each(or 50 cents each when you buy 30) My favorite meats are al pastor, cabeza, lengua and asada. They also offer pollo, chorizo, jamon and a lot more options. The tacos are served in 2 tortillas with cilantro and onion. No frills here! The burritos consist of rice, beans, cilantro, onion and the protein of your choice. Last but not least, the torta is made with the meat of your choice, beans, mayo, and lettuce. Yum! You guessed it! We always order 30 tacos whenever we visit Chavito’s. I can eat 8 of then easily! Remember to ask for hot sauce and pineapple juice! Order, THEN pay when you pick up your food.

Cheap tacos and free pineapple juice! What more can you ask for? This taco truck is located down a small street where parking is limited. Don’t let the area fool you, these tacos are legit in terms of flavor. Pineapple juice is limited to a first come first serve basis. When they run out, they run out. Don’t hesitate to get 10+ tacos for yourself!
