Java To Go

I was craving an iced mocha so I was happy to find a coffee spot while waiting for AAA to unlock my car. I walked over with my 2.5 year old hoping for some kind of homemade cookie or pastry. The only pastries are muffins loaded with preservatives and artificial ingredients. I couldn’t tell before I bought it (blueberry muffin) because it’s just wrapped in clear wrap without labeling of ingredients. My son shared a bite with me and I realized it was not what it appeared to be.
There are 2 sizes of iced drinks. They are both pretty big but the smaller one I would call medium only comes with ONE SHOT! The large size comes with two. So I ordered the larger one because I didn’t feel good about paying extra to add a shot. So the barista prepares my drink by pressing a button… Being a barista myself I was really turned off about that. She made my drink and I took a sip after paying an extra $ 0.40 to use my debit card. It tasted awful. It tasted watery and the espresso was so stale and old tasting. I think the espresso machine it not calibrated and/​or it needs a real deep cleaning. I’m still trying to suck down the drink because I want the caffeine and because I don’t want to waste my money by dumping it down the drain.
If the business is primarily coffee centered, the coffee should be crafted well with great taste. I got neither. 2 stars for the friendly barista who I believe is just following orders from management on how to prepare and care for the machines. Will I be back? No way.

Stopped by here this morning instead of Starbucks and was pleasantly surprised.
I ordered my usual, iced white chocolate mocha, and the barista was very friendly and there was only 1 car ahead of me. The drink came out very quick and tastes amazing!
It’s a small ‘shack’ that is drive thru only so there is not a place to sit inside but they have small tables outside.
I’ll definitely be coming back here again! They have shaved ice and smoothies! They are steps from the beach. Good, GOOOOD find.

Java alert. This little drive thru spot is located on the corner of PCH and Warner. It is hard to catch the on duty barista– they take alot of breaks.
Nothing outrageously great. No latte art or love. THe have shaved iced and some deli food. A very small questionable establishment for use when desperate.
