History

Established in 2000.

Starting off as a full service general contracting company in early 2000, Jim Was Here was heading into the remodeling segment of the construction market. Through the years, we realized that it was the little things in everyday life that need attention. Many people just want a new faucet, not a complete kitchen remodel. And so, with that in mind, the construction company became the handyman service. What makes our handyman service unique, however, is that we are fully licensed and capable of doing that kitchen remodel.

Even though the focus of the business has changed throughout the years, our prime objective has been to better the lives of our customers. To fulfill this desire, we offer our handyman service to everyone willing to give us a shot and hopefully, through several interactions, make that person a loyal customer– a customer who calls for everything, even their remodels, room additions and roof replacements. Because Jim Was Here is more than a handyman service, it is a smile

Meet the Business Owner

Jim V.

Business Owner

Jim has been in the construction industry since he was a small boy helping out in his father’s cabinet shop. He became a skilled wood worker at a young age, and began his construction career in that area. He got his Cabinetry Contractor’s License in 1998, and started a company that built custom kitchen cabinets. Around the same time, he purchased a house that had been built in 1908, and began remodeling it from the ground up. Through that process, he discovered his other construction talents, and subsequently earned his Contractor’s licenses for Electrical, Plumbing, and General Construction.

Over the years, Jim has worked hard to continually improve his skills. He has put in countless ceiling fans and garbage disposers. He has repaired leaky faucets and faulty light switches. He has done complete kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels and room additions.
