History

Established in 2009.

After working for almost 17 years in the European auto repair industry and constantly clashing heads with his boss on how to run things, J.P. decided to open his own shop so he could run things the way they needed to be run. He opened his own shop so you the customer could get your car repaired with what was needed, not what the other shops needed to make there monthly profits.

J.P. is the owner and operator of JP’s European Auto and oversees every car that comes into his shop, so be sure to get the quality service you deserve at reasonable prices. Remember, we are your dealership alternative!

JP’S European Auto has been our go to automotive service shop. JP, the shop owner, and Josh, the main mechanic, are very knowledgeable. I recently had my Cayenne serviced by them after the factory plastic cooling tubes leaked. JP’S replaced them with the factory alloy upgraded cooling tubes. The service was performed timely and expertly. I saved a tremendous amount over what the dealer would have charged. I highly recommend JP’S European Auto for all of your automotive repair and maintenance needs. GREAT SERVICE, REPAIR EXPERTISE AND VALUE FROM JP’S EUROPEAN AUTO!!!

JP and his team are the good guys. They are gear heads. They don’t brag about it. They just get it. They take care of your car. These are REAL mechanics. They are harder and harder to find, yes, even in the car mecca that is Southern California. We’ve tried some of the fancy OC shops recommended by enthusiast car clubs like PCA and BMWCCA, and those shops have let us down big time, and we will never go back. (I prefer my car come out better than it went in, not broken) JP and his team are quiet, understated and just do the job right the first time. And THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING! Zero worries when coming here. Been searching for someone you can trust with your European car without paying dealer prices? (or having the dealer dent your car because they can’t drive a manual =-) This is the one. Thanks JP and team.

J.P. is knowledgeable, conscientious, skilled and fair. My boyfriend has a 2005 Jaguar which is a beautiful car, but he was nervous about the possible expense of ownership. J.P. evaluated the car and helped to make the original purchase decision. He warned about the fact that the previous repair had been with an aftermarket water pump. He said that it would only last 2 – 3 years. Two and a half years later we used the Auto Club tow to bring the car in to replace the water pump. Unfortunately, on the way the tow company used the 91 freeway which was under construction and was quite rough. They had chained the vehicle to the bed hooked over the rack and pinion steering which was now bent.
J.P. discovered this fact on the post repair test drive. He explained what had likely happened. After we contacted the tow company he handled the primary contact, talked to the tow owner and sent detailed pictures and explained how he could tell that the damage was in fact FRESH. Since our repair was only $ 600 compared with the $ 1,200 in new damage we were quite grateful that he was able to get that charge fully covered. We brought the vehicle in on Monday, Tuesday the water pump was fixed, Wednesday we talked with the tow people and received covered repair authorization. Thursday the steering was repaired and Friday I returned the rental car in Huntington Beach and drove the 70 miles back home. J.P. is our «go to» guy. I only hope that this honest review doesn’t make him too busy and popular to have time for us in the future!

A trusted Mechanic is hard to find, JP is by far the best mechanic I’ve ever had work on my vehicle. He explains exactly what’s going on and Has restored my faith in this industry. JP’s European Auto is amazing. Take everything you know about auto mechanics and throw it out the window. JP is honest, reliable, and will never try do do you wrong. He is on top of his game, runs a quality shop with experienced employees, and genuinely cares about his customers and their vehicles. My sister kept on recommending JP for auto repairs on my Audi, and I kept brushing it off because he is in Huntington Beach, 30 miles away from me. When I needed to change my timing belt, replace brakes, and a few other repairs, I decided to make the trip and see if he could save me money over the dealer.
Well, not only did he save me $ 1000 over what the dealer was going to charge, but he gave my car a mini tune up as he discovered a few things that needed replacing as he was doing the repair. I was truly affected by his thoroughness, care and professionalism. He and his team are extremely friendly, accommodating and trustworthy. Since the initial repair I have brought my car in several times and wouldn’t even consider going anywhere else. My car is old, and although I need to replace it, I am grateful that I have JP and his team to see me through until I do.

These guys are on it! I live nearby and chose them based on the reviews. Talked to JP, gave him the symptoms and he and one of the guys actually came to my house, checked it out quickly to insure it was safe to limp away and took it back to the shop for me. A few hours later they had great news that they were able to re-​program the Rover computer (very few shops have the appropriate equipment other then the dealer), and I was safe and ready to go!

JP’S EUROPEAN as done it again pulled me out of the s _​_​t my jaguar was acting up and I’m taking a road trip this Easter weekend and thought I was going to have to rent a car I called Jp and he said bring it in and he or Josh would take a look so I got there Jp took a look and all it was, was a wire that the upholsterer had put the headliner back in and run a screw into a wire and kept blowing a fuse once he found the fuse that shorted out he went straight to the problem. So thanks to jp I’m still going on my Easter weekend road trip Thanks to jp and josh

Im pretty good at fixing mst things on a BMW but it needed a major repair and JP and his staff were great. Labor quote was very fair and upfront for the work involved and they even looked over and made a list of things I may want to fix down the road. Even gave me a ride down the road to rental car place. Definitely recommend if you own a German brand and avoid the dealer at all costs

JP, Josh and team are the BEST! They are perfectionist, honest and compassionate. Their prices are very fair and they use official Land Rover and Jaguar parts.
I have a Land Rover Discovery and we found out you can’t break into them… I took my cat to the vet and left him in the car for 5 minutes, when I came back I couldn’t get into the car as the lock on the front door was broken so all the other doors were affected. AAA tried for an hour then towed me to JP’s as he told me they could take care of it. When I got there JP put his arm around me and said don’t worry we will get him out. JP, Josh and 1 other technician spent 2 hrs trying to get into the car until Josh had to take a sledge hammer to the window. it still did not break! Finally JP drilled a hole in the window and then hit it and glass went everywhere. he got my cat out and actually lent me his car to take the cat back to the vet while they replaced my window, fixed the door and cleaned up all the glass.
When I returned he did not charge me as he had a used window and they had worked on that door before. He wouldn’t even let me give him gas money for the use of his car.
Another reviewer said JP is honorable and I agree! He and his team are also compassionate as they saved my cat! I now know that no one else can get into a Discovery! Thanks so much guys!!!

Expert customer service and workmanship! I have taken my (3) Jags to JP for over 12 years — followed him from Newport to HB — he’s that good! He always knows what the problem is over the phone. Never heard an excuse for anything… always gives upfront information and pricing. JP has rebuilt an 87 engine — kept my 95 XJS running impeccably and helped me decide on a recent purchase by doing a thorough check first. Recently I sent him a video of a noise from my phone… he knew what the problem was from the noise only. He always has some beautiful fancy cars in the drive, Rolls, Rover, Maserati, Jags or anything British. I love this guy, plus he is a super nice person in all ways.

I drive a Mini Cooper and I needed to get the computer reprogrammed because my windows wouldn’t stay rolled up. I kept putting this repair off because I was told I’d need to take it to the dealership and I wasn’t prepared to pay whatever exorbitant amount of money they would probably charge. I decided to call some European shops in HB just to see if maybe they could do the work and JP’s was the first shop I called. Lucky me! They said I could bring it in that moment and wait for the work to be done, and to absolutely make my day, Josh did NOT charge me a cent! I am so appreciative of this gesture. He said when I need more work to call him and he can be sure of that!

I recently moved down to southern california from the bay area. Prior to moving down here I had a great mechanic that I knew for 12 years. I always took my cars to him. Knowing that I had to move down to southern california finding a good honest mechanic was going to be extremely difficult.
Luckily thanks to my buddy that lives in Huntington beach he told me about this shop that does good work. I had noticed a leak under my car I was hoping was just water from the ac. I took it to JP’s and was quickly diagnosed with a bad water pump. JP replaced the electronic water pump and hoses which would have cost an arm and leg at the bmw dealership. He gave me a good price for parts and labor.
Since then I have been taking both my cars to JP’s for regular maintenance. People ask me why do I drive 71 miles to take my car in for service when there’s many places around here in San Marcos area that can do the same thing. Simple it’s hard to find a good honest mechanic that does good work.

I typically feel underserved and broke after leaving an auto shop, but that was not the case with JP… I was blown away at their friendliness, efficiency, communication and reasonable prices. My first impression of the shop was how clean and organized it is! There are chairs and also peanuts for waiting customers. Even noticed there was a fresh aroma scent — extra brownie points for that!
My boyfriend took his Volvo here to get diagnosed, JP was able to take his car in on a Friday afternoon and called us 2 hours later to tell us the problem. He was very thorough and also gave us a fair quote.
JP and his tech boys are very friendly and knowledgeable. I am very comfortable with their service and they will get down and dirty to get your car in excellent condition.
We all know European cars are expensive to get serviced. JP Auto is defiantly the place to go for a trustworthy mechanic. Highly recommended!

JP’s European Autohas is a great place to take your wheels! Prices are reasonable, staff is warm & friendly, and most importantly, he is an honest, reputable mechanic!!! I was referred to him by a friend that has had all of her vehicles serviced there for a considerable number of years. Wow and people said there are no more honest shops. Jp’s European is an example of what a real shop should be like. Honest, knowledgable, extremely reasonable and willing to go above and beyond. Just look at how many cars these guys have in the lot and their great mechanics are always busy. I just had a terrible experience with another shop where I was lied to and taken advantage of. Tow truck driver reffered me over to Jp and I am really glad to have met him. From now on I am taking my cars to Jp’s and I live 2 miles away from him which is helpful.
They took great care of me and my car and fixed what other shop couldnt. People, this is exactly where you want to be.
