I can’t comment on the quality of this company’s work. This review is based solely on my disappointing experience dealing with them trying to schedule a consultation. I called them and the person I talked to was too busy to schedule a consultation at that time, which is fine. I left my phone number with him, and he said he was going to call me. Never did. Not a good way to earn new business.

Eddie came out just give me advise about a problem we had with a recent installed wood floor, by ANOTHER COMPANY. He certainly did not have to come out, to help me analyze a molding issue that the other company could not resolve. But he did. Whether out of kindness or good business, or both. It was very refreshing to see, none the less. Particularly at this Christmas season. Anyway, he gave me some good advise about the floor, and some good advise about cooking and barbecue techniques as well. Thanks Eddie, and Marcel Hughes Hardwood Floors.

We love these guys! About 8 to 10 years ago they put in our living room floor and did an excellent job. They just recently finished putting in hardwood flooring for two bedrooms. They were in and out fast, timely, clean, total perfectionists! I think they are perhaps the best contracted individuals we’ve ever hired and we’ve done a lot to our home from the roof to the windows to the garage doors to the bathrooms, the electrical, plumbing, etc. It says a lot when I would recommend any individual who does contracting work because for the most part all of the contractors but two have fallen very short of what was promised. A definite five star and a recommend!

I began looking for hardwood floors almost a year ago in anticipation of an upcoming kitchen remodel. I went to several different flooring places but ended up going with Marcel Hughes because of the customer service I received from Eddie. He is amazing, so helpful and I never felt pressured. He let me bring samples home (over and over) until I found something my husband and I both agreed upon. The installation by Marcel and his two workers went very smoothly. To our surprise and delight, they even finished installing the whole house a day earlier than anticipated! My mom also had Marcel Hughes Flooring install new wood throughout her condo and she was just as pleased as I was. If you want a great experience from start to finish, hire Eddie & Marcel!

Marcel Hughes just finished installing hardwood floors in our Livingroom and hallway and they’re gorgeous. Eddie bid and coordinated the job and Marcel and his crew did the installation. Eddie also recommended Kurt Olmstead to replace our 40 yr old staircase and bannister and both coordinated the work beautifully. The results look amazing and I’m having the rest of my floors done now! I couldn’t be happier with the whole process. Everyone involved was so professional, conscientious, great communication and they even got along with my dog! I’m so happy I went with Marcel Hughes!

Marcel and Eddie did a great job on repairing a very, very small area of hardwood flooring that we needed to replace. They were not the original hardwood company we used but their professional manner and quick response to our needs was outstanding. Most companies did not want to spend the time to repair such a small area. We will definitely use them again as the hardwood repair came out great! I would highly recommend their company!!!

If you want hardwood flooring, you don’t need to look any further — do yourself a favor and go with these guys now. You will not find a more reasonably-​priced, honest, hardwood flooring contractor that can bring better installation coupled with such extremely high-​quality materials. They stand behind their work — which is the absolute best you can get.
Eddie installed over 700SF of flooring on top of a less-​than-​perfectly-​levelled slab foundation over five years, however he made it come out perfect. He glued a 5-​ply, hand-​scraped, engineered wood by Virginia Vintage which not only looked rich, but was extremely durable and came with a 25 year warranty. He used the best mastics that have fared well over time with abuse and excessive moisture. The floors are beautiful. My neighbor hired him to do his house after he saw how well mine came out. They were clean, professional, courteous and very friendly to work with. (No problem leaving these guys to work alone in your home.)
Years later after a catastrophic event in our living room, we had to replace some damaged flooring; Eddie personally came out several times to make sure we could restore the floor back to the way it was. He obtained all the materials very quickly and economically. He was extremely responsive, despite being inundated with many larger, and I’m sure more lucrative, jobs. Although my recent job was a small one for them, it was a big deal for us and they treated it like it was a top priority. The floor once again looks remarkable.
Eddie is a good, and honest man who will work extremely hard to give you the best floor your money can buy. You should pass on your standard «Walmarts of home improvement» (ie Home Depot/​Lowes) and go with Marcel Hughes Flooring — you will not be disappointed now nor for many years to come. They’re terrific.

One of the best contractors we have ever worked with. We have done extensive remodeling over the past 8 years and have worked with many contractors. Marcel Hughes is one of the best. Their price was very competitive and fair. We have a lot of heavy furniture and they moved them with nominal charge. They took great pride in their work. They were meticulous, careful, and neat on the job. Our wood floor came out beautiful. We are extremely please! We highly recommend them without any hesitation. We worked with Marcel Hughes in 2012 to put hardwood floors throughout our entire house. It was a true pleasure to work with Eddie on floor selection, which, for me, was the most difficult part of the whole process. He was very patient and understanding and finally brought me «the magic sample!» The price was very competitive and Marcel did a fabulous job on the installation — very quick and efficient. My mom used Marcel Hughes in 2010 for her beautiful maple hardwood flooring and recommended them highly. They have remained available to her afterward for questions and care.
Based on her recommendation, I went to Marcel Hughes in early 2012 when I was ready to install hardwood floors throughout my downstairs. The folks there were wonderful — they helped me with the process of selecting the perfect floor — the hardest part of all, since there are so many beautiful woods to choose from.
The installation was efficient and well done and I was (and remain) thrilled with the beauty of my glowing hardwood floors. Both Eddie and Marcel were wonderful to work with and their work is excellent. Originally, I was concerned their prices might be higher than a larger company but I found them to be very competitive in pricing and to be superior in customer service.

My husband and I put hardwood floors in our whole home in 2001. We used Marcel Hughes and were extremely pleased with their work. They were very efficent, and helpful. They were very neat and clean on the job too.
After we had our floors installed we recommended Marcel Hughes Hardwood floors to my husband’s parents. They had Marcel Hughes installed wood floors on their entire first floor. They were extremely pleased with the work.
Now fast forward it is now 2011. We just had an entire second floor with 2-​bedrooms, 2-​bathrooms, living room, laundry room and wet bar area. Yep! We called Marcel Hughes and had them put down wooden floors through out the entire second floor. In addition we had to re-​do our living room and kitchen too. The construction work was very hard in these areas. Once again, we praise this company. Eddie and Marcel are both wonderful and the work is EXCELLENT. I wasn’t even sure I liked hardwood floors but my wife Janis talked me into them, They are amazing with a warm feel .
