Allen Baylis really came through for us with a minor traffic ticket out of Westminster Court House (over an hour away) our case was a loser right out of the gate and we knew it but we were hoping the officers wouldn’t appear and the case would be dismissed.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case but having the peace of mind that Mr. Baylis would be there to represent us and file for traffic school so that nothing would fall through the cracks and $ 300 civil assessments be tacked on was really a godsend.

Some people buy radar or laser detectors which is a good preventive measure if you live in the middle of nowhere. However, for those of us in large cities (urban and suburban areas) where they rarely work and the police and highway patrol officers catch you by pacing you or estimating your speed, you usually get caught. And when you want to fight that citation, a public figure like a judge, will never take your word over a fellow public figure, like the officer. Believe me, I know and have tried.
I first hired Allen Baylis in February 2011 at the recommendation of a friend. I got two speeding tickets within 45 minutes of one another at 99 mph and 102 mph on the 15 freeway through San Bernardino on my way to Las Vegas in 1 AM. One ticket was dismissed and the other reduced enough to go to traffic school.
That’s two wins.
Since then, I have had the unfortunate luck to need his services three more times. He is on speed dial in my phone now. Sadly.
I don’t know what his record is for any of his other clients, but he is batting 100% for me.
I am not a bad driver, just have a heavy foot.

I would highly recommend Attorney Allen Baylis. He is widely known among his peers as the authority on California traffic law. He has personally handled and gained dismissals on several traffic citations for myself and many of my clients. After using several different traffic ticket attorneys, I’ve found Allen to be the most competent and dedicated attorney around. Where others just appear at trial and plea guilty if the officer shows up, Mr. Baylis always goes the extra mile to win the case and gain the advantage. Hands down, Baylis is as good as it gets!

As of late January (8 months after we hired him), Allen Baylis’ office had not corrected the court error which resulted in and/​or showed that my licensed was suspended. All of that paperwork should have been put through LAST SUMMER with the Red Light ticket dismissal and the below referenced civil assessment reversal. This error (all parties responsible) has cost me at least $ 200 in lost good driver rate premium over the last seven months AND many hours of follow-​up emails. Last week after I followed up with him again, Allen found out the paperwork he FINALLY filed was incorrect and he is having to refile … and NOW calls it FAVOR (after stringing me along for over FIVE months saying he would do the right paperwork). He says he will file a DL107 to wipe out the suspension ‘at his convenience’. NOTE: AS OF ²⁄₂₇ HE HAS CHANGED THE NAME OF The FORM to a DL 157 an says the JUDGE must put it through and that I don’t know who things work! He has refused to tell me what court, judge, clerk has put through the paperwork for I can get the DMV to properly follow up (takes 3 weeks!). It appears he is being deliberately difficult and jerking me around.

FOR A TRAFFIC TICKET ISSUE … by a trusted friend, an insurance agent, who said Allen had helped many of his clients with traffic or small civil tickets. Baylis and his wife Collen who runs office, knew UP FRONT that I needed an old photo red light ticket cleared (easy) and the ensuing suspension AND FTA wiped off the record (I could not go to court and court should have simply dismissed), in order to get my GOOD DRIVER RATE BACK (I wrote Baylis immediately with that request LAST JULY — so that was not a surprise). In fairness Allen gave my family a good rate — only 200-​$ 300. All paperwork should have been done last summer. Instead, he JSUT got the red light dismissed (no fine) but failed to put through the other paperwork and vacate what the court called a CIVIL ASSESSMENT (an additional fine for the FTA). He ALSO failed to put through paperwork which would wipe out the reference to the old suspension (which keeps me from placing my insurance with the best carriers), and never told me he wanted more monies OR that this would take 3 steps. In mid-​October, Allen promised IN WRITING VIA EMAIL to straighten things out because it was a court error (told me to be patient and that is was a favor). I thanked him profusely AND even gave him the name, email and phone number of DMV contact to make sure paperwork was sent to the right department by the Judge. In January, Allen said he has put through the notification to DMV from the court to clear these issues. DMV had no information on this as of last week. AND the SUSPENSION still showed on my history. During the last 6 months I heard Baylis being interviewed on KNX newsradio (CBS-​LA), as an expert attorney in the DMV areas. YET, my good driver rate is still GONE. In addition, my family who paid for his ticket-​services also used his a referral to another Attorney TOM GRUENBECK. Allen has never confirmed or denied that referral, but you can read my review of Gruenbeck & Vogeler under separate cover. AGAIN, I am STILL WAITING FOR old license SUSPENSION information to be erased (as if it never happened).

This was my second time dealing with Mr. Allen Baylis and I also referred a close motorcycle friend, Kevin. In both cases Allan got dismissals! I can tell you that Allen did not pussy foot around when he confronted the officer at the trail. He read this poor guy the riot act… honestly I felt sorry for the officer, he struggled and squirmed for answers. Allen knows his stuff… I was impressed.
So lately, a few years later, I find myself with not only one (1) speeding violation but two (2) w/​in a few months. Of course, I go back to Allen thinking these will be tough to beat. Maybe he can win one and probably I’ll have to go to Traffic School (giving up my one get out of jail free card for the next 18months hehehe!!) on the other.
Well… you guessed it. he was able to dismiss both cases AND I didn’t even have to go to court. His team always gave me a heads up with trail dates and final status. As you can imagine, I’m a happy motorcyclist!

I am an attorney myself but don’t have the time to deal with my traffic tickets. Anyway, I had a red light camera ticket in OC. I was infomred that this is what Baylis specializes in, so I engaged him for representation. He provided periodic updates about my case, and his office was always responsive to my emails. This morning I was informed that after a year and half my case was dismissed!

These Guys rock! The court slapped me with a 2000 fine and Allen got it reduced to $ 140. I called another office for a quote, mr ticket I believe, and they wanted 1,500! What a joke. Thank you guys! Will recommend you to anyone needing help.

He’s good for traffic tickets but for anything else, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

You can do a lot better elsewhere. Engaging Mr. Baylis is a rapid descent into the cone of silence. Any and all interaction ceases after money has been exchanged.
After he’s collected your fees up front, his office doesn’t respond to e-​mails or voicemails. Court dates come and go without notification of postponements.
When my case finally did come to court, there was zero verbal or written communication concerning outcome. Sad

I was looking at a point on my license and a rather large fine. Which is probably to be expected when causing an accident by pulling a U-​Turn in the middle of the block. Allen Baylis got me a plea deal. My wallet was very happy.

Let’s start this review off with the good news. 104 mph speeding ticket, dismissed. Woohoo!
Now, let’s go back the beginning where I explain why I choose Mr. Baylis to represent me.
Mr. Baylis was my first and only call while shopping around for an attorney. Upon reading many other sites regarding my current misfortune, happened to come across Mr. Baylis via Unilocal and give him a call.
I was very warmly greeted by his office manager and passed over to Mr. Baylis. At the time he did a very brief consult with me and honestly told me he didnt work in the courthouse I would be seeing trial in. He also went on to tell me how the Judge normally presiding there was kind of an asshole. This initially worried me, but he asserted that he would try to move it to another courthouse/​judge to get me a more fair trial. Feeling assured, I paid, what I now really think is a great price to have him represent me. Payment was made over the phone very quickly and then the waiting game…
Thrice my court date was pushed back. Thrice I got a courteous call notify me of the changes. I was honestly very impressed by this.
End result, Mr. Baylis did exactly what he promised, got my case moved to another courthouse and ultimately dismissed. Can’t thank him and his helpful staff enough.
