Scats Gymnastics

My daughter has been at Mighty Mites at SCATS for about 10 months and loves it! She loves Coach Joel, and I think the class has really helped her strength and control of her body. She likes it so much that she even had her birthday party there. All the kids had a great time. She has also switched the days of her classes to work around other activities, and they have been very accommodating.

My daughter is 15 and is taking classes in an effort to boost her skills enough to become a varsity cheerleader. We have been to another gym, Newhope, before and we thought it was large. Boy, were we wrong. Scats is ginormous by comparison. In the few months she has been coming here, I have been impressed by their organization and efficiency. It is overwhelming for parents and kids alike being in such a big place. If your kid can handle being in a place like this, handle being away from their parents and not being the center of attention, this place can be a lot of fun and rewarding. The classes I observe from my 2^nd floor viewing loft are fast paced. This is not a private one-​on-​one studio, although that may be offered here and I have not seen it. If you follow the rules, from parking, to observing, to being a low maintenance participant, this place is great.

Coach Cindy has disappointed my 3 year old on more than one occasion. She should not be teaching the toddler class. I really wish our experience here was a good one bc I like everyone but the way she has belittled us and her lack of communication is not what I pay for. I am not happy with the outcome of this experience bc of the teacher! Everyone in the establishment is very nice and understanding but ms. Cindy is not the teacher for the toddler class. Also if they cancel class don’t expect a call, just for your child to be disappointed.

And they do birthday parties. My 4 year old had a great day. Sarah and the staff went so much beyond what I expected. It was full of jumping and sliding and swinging over and into the foam blocks.
Our room was a little small, but it fit us perfectly for about 10 little one and a handful of adults. They have bigger rooms for larger groups.
The main part that made it so great was how much attention and service that Sarah provided. She was more that a helpful coach for the kids. She was hands on all the way to sliding down the big slide with the littlest guests to serving all of them cake and goodies, and down veggies too, in the party room.
We are very pleased with our decision to celebrate 4 at SCATS!!!

Had my son in the tumbling class for over a year. When he first started, he couldn’t even jump with both feet. I truly believe the class helped with his coordination and balance.
Recently, we had his birthday party there. The staff was courteous and helpful, and wrangled 30 or so kids with confidence.
The prices are fair, the facility is clean, and the staff is great. Coach Cindy was very nice and patient with us, and i would recommend her or any of the staff for helping children.

I am so excited that I found this place! I have been looking forever for a place that is affordable, clean, and that has an appropriate class size so that my daughter will actually learn. SCATS offers one free class to try out their program and my daughter fell in love. The price is great, the class size allows for each child to have time with the instructors, and the class is 90 minutes and VERY affordable. All the instructors have been very nice and helpful, the enrollment was very simple and fast, and their are so many classes available with different times and days that I don’t have a problem getting her to class with my busy schedule. I would definitely recommend SCATS if you are looking to get your son or daughter into gymnastics. I have already referred several people to check it out. So happy with SCATS!

The gym is great! But the Staff was enough to make us go somewhere else.
Our 4 yr old Daughter went here for a Summer camp. We talked to the Staff to alert them about our Daughter’s food allergy since she would be there all day and there were serving a snack. We were assured that nothing that she was allergic to was being given to them. When we came to pick her up, we found out that they DID give her items that she was allergic too! Luckily for us, and our Daughter, she did not eat it.
When we talked to the Manager about it, her response was so incredibly rude and shocking, and she basically said she can’t be responsible for kids allergies. We are so thankful nothing happen to our Daughter, and we could never take her there again with rude Staff that have a complete disregard for the well being of there clients.
Horrible! Shocking! Rude! Disrespectful!
We have been going to another place, and the Staff is so nice, and actually care about the people coming into their gym.

My daughter is on the competitive girls team at SCATS and not enough is written about how successful the gym is in this arena. SCATS girls have numerous State Championship titles and that is a testament to the coaching staff as well as the large pool of talent they are able to pick from. We are so thankful for the expertise and dedication from Coach Ashley David on the compulsory level and the addition of Coach Ivan has brought the gym to the next level. His knowledge has been a huge factor in our daughter’s continuing success. We can’t wait to see what this next season brings. We know with Coach Ivan and Coach Shannon our daughter will receive the best and safest training available. Thank you coaches for making this sport which requires so much hard work so much fun for the girls!

I would definitely recommend this place to any family who wants their child to be active and/​or to get involved in the sport of gymnastics.
The entire crew here is great. They handle the good and bad kids the exact same way. Positive remarks and quick verbal directions to those wild kids with lots of energy.
Lastly, I’m always amazed how this place handles the hundreds of kids on a daily basis. I sit and watch my daughter and look around at all the happy yet exhausted kids enjoying their workout and routine.

These coaches are by far the best my daughter has ever had. She comes from another gym where she was treated to be more like a soldier and not a child. After many years with them, we decided to take her out and we went to SCATS and can not believe the genuine love and appreciation for the sport and my child. It’s a longer commute for us but we do it for the joy for gymnastics my daughter regained. She has her love of the sport back and for that, we are very thankful.

I am writing this review on the gym itself and Coach Sara. Scats is a wonderful gym, I went there as a upper level gymnast, and now both of my daughters attend scats. One thing I love about the gym is the friendly desk staff that is always there to answer any questions, the cleanliness of the gym, and the professionalism of coaches. I absolutely «Sara» which is my 5 year old’s JR Academy instructor. She focuses on technique and pays close attention to the needs of each individual student. When I had an issue with a previous coach, Scats was very helpful in selecting an alternative class/​Coach for my daughter. Thank you Scats!

We have been coming for three years here and love it. First we did mommy and me with ms Cindy when my daughter was 2. We have had private lessons with ms Cindy ever since. When I read some of the critical reviews I was taken aback. We found the opposite to be true. In fact for us, Kidnastics in Los Al was a nightmare and too sensory stimulating with too many classes and younger instructors. My daughter was diagnosed with autism at 2. My Cindy helped her with crawling, climbing a rock wall and becoming aware of her body. She has now been able to take even ballet classes with typical peers. Huge progress thanks to ms Cindy. Parents need to keep in mind that each child develops at a different rate. Often others who see hundreds of kids in a class may pick up on signs that your child is just not ready. Maybe next week your child will be ready … After you work on prepping them, helping them get through crying or other behaviors or it’s just a better week all the way around.
As for us, we find this place valuable and a true learning environment. Which is what it is meant to be! Check it out!

I am shocked by the negative reviews! I have been coming to SCATS with my family for almost 7 years. My family loves SCATS Gymnastics! I have never had a problem here. To the contrary, when I was having problems with my younger son not focusing not only in gymnastics, but in school as well, SCATS came to the rescue knowing the value of my son. They have provided options for him that are beyond the realm of business only.
I have my 2 sons enrolled at SCATS and soon will have my daughter enrolled. My guess is that none of them will ever be Olympians or even have the God given talent to be on team, however what they learn at SCATS is priceless. My kids do other activities, but their favorite by far is SCATS.
I read a review about someone complaining about the smell… Please… SCATS does not smell. I think the only thing that stinks is the attitude of these whinny parents looking to gripe over a bruised ego.

Great gym! My daughter learned alot. The instructors are wonderful and they offer a variety of classes and programs!

Parents beware. My son was at the Summer day camp. I got there early to pick him up. After a few minutes upstairs with the other campers, he disappeared. I personally searched as much as I could & then informed the staff, if they could him me locate him. The staff took a real lazy approach to this. They search for a couple of minutes & informed me that he wasn’t around. The staff then just went about there regular duties. I was blown away. No Code Adam. Nothing. The staff knew I was his father but where did he go? A Eastern European guy (manager/owner?)then tells me that he’s not around. I tell him that I’ll have to call the HB police because I’m getting very concerned. How could the SCAT’s staff allow a 9yo just to leave without any sign out? HB policed located my son way outside of SCAT facility with an unauthorized person. Very disgusted with the nonchalant approach of the staff.

What a wonderful place this is!

Now she can’t wait to go to her classes and loves her coach, Sara, who has helped her gain her confidence back!
The staff is great and kids always look happy there!!!
We will be going there for the long run!

I went to SCATS from 4 – 13 and I loved it. I was a mighty mite and them I went up to special programs and stayed there the rest of the time. I started working there almost 8 months ago and I don’t think I could love SCATS anymore. I’m writing this review as a former gymnast and not a coach when I say that you could not find coaches that care more. The best part of my day is seeing the smiling happy faces when I kid finally gets a new skill. That is why all of the coaches are coaches, because they want to make kids smile and that’s why from gymnast to coach I couldn’t love SCATS more. SCATS is my home and I’m so very grateful to my family who introduced me to this amazing sport and gym that will be in my life forever! If you’re looking for coaches who care go to SCATS and if you find a coach you don’t like there’s a dozen more to choose from! The perfect fit for all level and ages of gymnasts.

I signed my 3 year old daughter up for a free trial class year to see if it was something she would like to do. She had been sooo excited about the class and told all her friends and family that she was going to gymnastics. We got there at 8:45am this morning for their «Mighty Mite» class (for 3 years olds). When I walked upstairs I was blown away by the size of this place. There were a lot of classes going on and I knew daughter was very visually stimulated yet still very excited. The instructor came and took the kids downstairs to the class and my daughter looked so happy. It was kind of hard to watch her the whole time because of all the other classes going on. I found myself watching all the other gymnast because there was so much to watch. My daughter did trampoline, jumped into a foam pit, and some somersault/​handstand routines. It looked like she was having fun and considering she has never done anything like this I felt that she was doing a pretty good job. I GUESS I WAS WRONG! At 9:45 an instructor walked my daughter upstairs to tell me that she was kicking my daughter out of class!?! She said that my daughter seemed to «distracted» and wanted to look at all the other classes going on. Uhh yeah, hello me too! The class was only supposed to be an hour long and they were seriously kicking us out 15 min before it ended. My daughter was extremely upset and confused and kept asking why she couldn’t go back to the class. I was in complete shock by how rude and unprofessional this company is. My 3 year old was looking for fun and instead left crying. Funny part is that I was planning on buying a membership after the class since it looked like she was having so much fun. Pretty glad now that I know how they treat their potential clients. I’ll go take my business elsewhere. Unless your 3 year plans on becoming an Olympic I would not recommend this place. I never expected to by kicked out for her having FUN. I won’t be returning and I will make sure that I tell all my local mommy friends.

while they did refund our tuition and fees for the CAP program it was only after they read this «scathing review», and they required me to prove with a screen shot from my bank that we had indeed paid, even just the poor accounting practice is a little worrisome. and now I see that they are inferring that my issues were «unfounded» and presented in … oh what was it he said. Anyway we are quite happy this all happened. We were lukewarm about them before all this and we would never have made the switch to this much better (for us) gym in Los Alamitos called Kidnastics.

My daughter just started here last month after a friend recommended it to us and she adores it! She’s in the Jr. Academy and I have to say that the ENTIRE staff is super cool! They have been willing to work with my schedule on occasion and let me switch class times with no extra charge and they always make sure to check with us and see that we are satisfied with our lessons and the instructors.
They have also done an awesome job at making my little girl comfortable! A lot of people have gone on to becoming Olympic gymnasts from this place! Now if that isn’t a sure sign that we are in great hands then what is? We are so delighted to have found SCATs! I only wish that MY parents had known about this place when i was little! I would have been in TUMBLING HEAVEN!
