SeaCliff Country Club

The Grill Room at Seacliff Country Club is the worst. Instead of resembling a Country Club atmosphere it is more like an old dirty greasy spoon. Dark grease spots on the walls entering the kitchen, walls and baseboards are all dinged up and dirty. Dust on baseboards is so thick you can write your name. Chairs are not regularly cleaned. Service is the worst. My last three orders at the Grill have either been incorrect, or I have had to wait an additional 25 to 40 minutes. Ordered pies for Thanksgiving, they found the order, but forgot to order the pies. Seacliff members deserve better. The club is beautiful, the course is beautiful but the Grill Room is the worst. Come on Seacliff you can do better!

Really poor service for members in Dining. It appears they cater to special events and leave the members with far less than adequate service for the members. They cancelled the normal omelette buffet and is taking an hour or more to get breakfast. It’s not the servers so much as it appears the Chef cannot even handle the 4 tables in the room. I can’t imagine what they would do if the place was even nearly full. saw 3 tables leave in frustration with no food. We just had to move out our tee time and now may have to walk out after almost an hour with no food served yet. We just had to ask for our meals in ti go boxes so we don’t miss the rescheduled tee time. This is the worse dining establishment I have ever been to. Nit a good way to start a nice family golf day.

I’ve been here twice for their Saturday breskfast buffet. They have an omelet station where they make your omelet anyway you want it with a variety of vegetable and meats to choose from. Let me add that my omelet always comes put delicious. I’ve also tried the waffle and their pancake station I prefer the pancake I’ve the waffle, last time I ordered the waffle it was over cooked and hard. Service is good, food is good and I enjoy coming here.

I had my wedding here on 11.7.15 and I could not be happier! Jessica was my coordinator and did an amazing job (and kudos to Misha for helping on the day of & keeping me calm before walking down the aisle!). Every vendor we used through SeaCliff was awesome and everything turned out absolutely perfect. My husband and I are still beaming from this magical day. We received numerous compliments about how gorgeous the venue was. I cannot say enough good things about SeaCliff and their staff. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I had my wedding here on October 10, 2015. I signed my contract with a coordinator named Alisha back in July 2014, and promptly never heard from her again. everytime I did try to contact her, she was always out of the office. it wasn’t until 6 months later in March 2015 that I discovered she
longer employed with Seacliff. Obviously I was upset and agitated, but I was then reassigned to Emma Sundstrom. I couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator throughout my entire planning process! She always answered my emails and called me back whenever I left a message, and never got irritated with me even after asking her the same questions a thousand times. She did a fabulous job on the decorations for the ceremony and reception, and all of my guests complimented her for keeping the wedding day on schedule. The only reason I gave them 4 stars was because I heard from several guests the next day that they didn’t get any of the wedding cake. apparently the banquet staff gave cake to half of the guests on one half of the ballroom, but not the other. Besides that, everything else was fantastic. I would definitely recommend Seacliff and Emma for any events. Thank you Emma!

I came here for a wedding and I would have to say the following:
*Beautiful views of the golf course
*Beautiful patio, perfect for ceremony
*Great bartending staff, Kyle the bartender, is a pimp
*Large banquette and common areas for large weddings
*Valet guys were cool, they didn’t kick out all the drunk ass dudes that were fighting and hollering in the roundabout
*They allow caterers for weddings
*Overall beautiful venue
Maybe I’ll play here someday…

My sister had her wedding here and the venue was beautiful.
There was 2 bars, one for the cocktail hour and one in the reception area. They only had 2 bartenders working for 240 guests… As you can tell the bar was pretty packed. One of the bartender was generous and cool, he had blonde long hair, everybody loved him! He made strong drinks and cool flavors like gummy bear drinks whereas the other bartender didn’t really know anything.
The venue misplaced 2 of my sisters wedding favor boxes… Other then that the place was nice. DJ had to stop at 11:15pm… Valet wasn’t an option, they had many valet boys. My sister said the cake, invites, semi wedding planner and decorations came with the venue, and you can have outside catering but it had to be served by their staff. They weren’t too good about saving food or cake (we didn’t get any and they didn’t leave any out). Overall the venue is a nice place to get married. I don’t plan weddings so not sure if t was a good deal.

If I can score lower I would. I never want to say bad things about a place but this was suppose to be a special day for my brother. This was the worst wedding venue. My brother had his wedding here this last Saturday. (1) The table was suppose to be set up 10 per table… instead they set it up 6 — 8 per table. (2) My brother told them there were 5 kids that would eat and a baby. The coordinator told us that they didn’t anticipate for the kids to sit down. Where would the kids eat on the floor??? When we tried to explain the issue to her… the coordinator was rude to us. and (3) A couple of the servers were also rude when we tried to ask them to clear the table because we were running out of room. I was told «I can only do one thing at a time». This was a small wedding compared to what it could have been. The food was served fairly late and the cake was never served to us.
The location itself was nice but I think the organizer should have done a better job making sure that everything was in order per the Bride and Groom’s request prior to opening the doors for the guests.

I read the reviews online prior to scheduling my wedding on July 18, 2015 at SeaCliff and was convinced this would be the perfect venue for my husband and I. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I have to agree that the event directors and coordinators are fantastic. Chelsea an event director at SeaCliff was terrific and Juliann was great in the planning stages and the day of the wedding. As you all know it never rains in California but it did on my wedding day. It rained all day and actually stopped for a couple of hours prior to the wedding. The GM at SeaCliff decided we had to move the ceremony indoors due to the lightning that occured earlier in the day. I understood and agreed. Juliann did everything possible to make it comfortable. Most of my guests had to stand for the ceremony but we understood and I was thankful that she made it work. After the ceremony the chairs were cleared and rose pedals were placed on the dance floor. The floor was incredibly slippery and one of my guests slipped and fell straight on her back in the middle of the cocktail hour. The SeaCliff staff stopped, watched my guest fall on the floor and kept walking. I had to ask the staff to clean up the flowers 3 times until they finally decided to sweep up 20 minutes after my 1^st request. I have planned many events in my day for work that include 300 plus people and I never encountered the issues I faced at SeaCliff with their food and beverage team. It’s great when you return from your honeymoon and you get to hear about all of the problems that occured at your wedding. Usually your friends and family comment on how great your wedding was… not me. That’s what you have to look forward to when you book your event at seacliff. First there were no steak knives for any of our guests. Apparently, most of my guests left there meals because they couldn’t cut there steak and the servers would not stop when flagged. We had a three tier cake that the food and beverage captain decided was to big and only served one layer… the carrot cake. My son’s one big decision in planning our wedding was the marble cake layer. My son asked the server for the marble cake once he was handed carrot cake and the server told my son that they were only serving the carrot cake. After the cake was cut my husband and I did our first dance. At this point the food and beverage captain decided to take all of our party favors and centerpieces off the table and put them in a back room. Our older guests returned to the dining area to find that there drinks were gone and the tables were clear. My older guests that couldn’t dance left the wedding because they had no where to sit! The seats outside were wet and the dining area that should have been available to my guests all night was being cleared by the staff. The bartender told all my guests that he broke his foot and SeaCliff still made him work. He told my guests he doesn’t get paid much and he was in pain making them drinks. Apparently, this worked well for the tips… and my guests didn’t take advantage of the open bar I paid for because they got tired of hearing about the bartenders foot. At the end of the night I saw a huge stack of party favors and centerpieces in the middle of the dining room. I couldn’t understand why my guests didnt take these items home. Did they not like the gifts I purchased? I couldn’t understand but I didn’t have time to figure it out. Our driver was outside ready to take us to LAX to start our honeymoon. When we returned a week later my mom and mother in law informed me that the centerpieces I promised them were no where to be found and the party favors they left on their tables where removed. Oh… and my father in laws jacket was removed from his chair and placed at another table while the servers cleaned. After discovering what had occured at my wedding I went straight to the venue to find my centerpieces on display at the venue!!! One week later slightly wilted at the venue! My party favors are still in a box in my car… as I try to hand deliver them to the guest that are still calling me to inform me that they did not receive their party favor. I sent an email to the GM Jay Carballo explaining what occured. I never received a phone call… just an email stating they encountered some miscommunications and an offer of $ 500 as long as I agreed to sign a nondisclosure agreement. Obviously I passed on the $ 500… Don’t book SeaCliff. Your wedding happens once. You pay country club prices but you don’t receive country club service… keep searching. You’ll find a venue that cares.

Where do I start!!! My husband and I had our wedding here on July 25, 2015… And it was amazing!!! Juliann did the most amazing job and was so helpful! We couldn’t have asked for anything better! She set up all of our décor and I cried when I saw it… She has an amazing eye for setting stuff up! Thank you for making our wedding so memorable and so beautiful!!! Juliann was so attentive to my multiple emails with questions and always assured me I wasn’t bothering her even though I felt like I was! lol ;)

My boyfriend and I came here for a wedding ceremony and reception. First off, they have complimentary valet parking, and that’s a plus! Other than that, the place is spacious and the view is absolutely amazing for those who are interested in getting married with a beautiful scenery.
The reception was held inside and there was a dance floor provided for the party. I was very pleased with this location. Cheers to the wedding couple! =)

Juliann and her team at SeaCliff were amazing. They helped me with a very upscale baby shower and pulled it off without a hitch! They were flexible with special requests and were a complete pleasure to work with. I would come back to host an event there any time! A+ in my book!

My work provided our company holiday party here and I was very impressed with their selection this year! The country club offered free parking, which was a plus. The hall they rented was very nicely decorated with simple yet chic holiday décor. The tables centerpieces were a nice elegant touch. We started with dinner rolls and a Cesar salad. What a great way to start a dinner. The bread rolls were amazing. Our main course was a chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Superb. The waiters were very friendly and attentive to our dining experience. They were constantly refilling our drinks and bussing our dishes. For desert they brought out a tray of different flavor cookies and brownies. It was a really nice experience. I would definately recommend renting their venues for events.

Great location with free parking. The food is excellent and you will not leave full. The golf course is amazing. Loved the open air lighting inside. Great view from the county club with lots of trees.

We held our wedding at SeaCliff Country Club, after exploring an ungodly number of venues across two states. We ended up choosing SeaCliff for a number of reasons. We loved the open, airy, elegant feel of the terrace and Pacific Room — we hate stuffy ballrooms. The price point was extremely reasonable for what was offered — e.g. a (great) professional DJ was included (!!!). I agree with the other review stating that it’s a good bang for your buck — it’s the best bang for your buck in this crazy world of weddings. And we loved Jessica, who crafted a proposal to include what was most important to us rather than forcing us into a higher package just for chiavari chairs.
We worked with Jessica and Alyssa (our Day-​of coordinator) to refine the proposal and map out all the details. We even worked with the chef to craft an appealing ethnic meal for some of our international guests. Everyone was open to our suggestions and very accommodating. They even handled the strong personalities at our rehearsal beautifully. At times, there were some delays in getting back to us, which had us on tenterhooks, but after being persistent, we did get all our questions answered.
There were the inevitable miscommunications, which were corrected prior to the wedding — all except one, which I’m sure was an honest mistake. Our agreement was not to have premium beverages displayed at our open bar but if someone specifically requested one, we would allow that to be served. However, on the day of, a premium bar was displayed and served all night, resulting in a higher bar tab than expected. In the end, we were able to get a breakdown of the drinks served, and SeaCliff adjusted the tab to reflect the lower prices of what we’d agreed on. It was a minor stressor to deal with in the weeks after the wedding, but it all worked out in the end.
Overall, we loved loved loved our wedding! The venue was gorgeous, and while we’d been concerned about the other wedding going on in the ballroom, we didn’t see or hear it at all. The food was great, including all the special requests we’d made. Alyssa was such a sweetheart the whole time, taking care of our every need and gently guiding our wedding party, including my grandparents who don’t speak English, through their roles. I felt like everything was on autopilot, and I could relax and enjoy the best day of my life. I’m so grateful for the care and attention that everyone showed, and we would definitely choose SeaCliff again if we had it to do over again.

Came here for a work event. Very nice venue and spacious. The servers were very nice and they an open bar. (can’t complain there)
They also had a large outside patio with fire pits. Great ambiance and overall great experience.

Got an email to play for a day. I always wanted to play here so I was really excited. They where repairing the tee boxes so on a few holes the tee area was not very good, other than that every other aspect of the course was great. They had some of the slickest greens I have putted on. I’m a bogey golfer and played from the white and shot a decent score. But I could totally see how the course can change from the back tee. Btw staff was very nice.
Would love another chance to play there again.

We held our daughter’s wedding reception here. I must say that there was some confusion in the price (one event coordinator quoted us one price, then weeks later another event coordinator gave us paperwork for a much higher price), but they agreed to the lower price that was orginally quoted. Other than this mix-​up, which was very stressful, everything else went well.
The night of the reception we could not have been more pleased. Although being the mother of the bride I did not get a chance to eat, everyone raved about the food. The groom said it was the best prime rib he had ever tasted and we literally got compliments all night on the food. We also had a chocolate fountain set up by Seacliff which was a big hit.
The setting was gorgeous. We had the reception both inside and outside. Outside we had market lights strung and all the fire pits were on. It was a wonderful night in Huntington Beach and the sunset was absolutely amazing.
We had 3-​foot sparkers for the send-​off. I thought Seacliff may be a little hesitant about this, but they were very accommodating. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful night. A night we will always remember.

I went here as a guest with my friend a few days ago. Took my son to the pool for some fun in the sun. I wasn’t really impressed with the place. My idea of a country club is somewhere super posh and nice. This pool was an average size — Probably one you would have in your backyard. The bathroom has only one stall and it is pretty gross, dingy, and old. Everything seems pretty old to me. The place needs a make-​over. I guess it’s fine for tennis and golf.
I’ve been to one other country club in Manhattan Beach and it was much nicer than this one. It had an olympic size pool AND there was a kiddie pool just for the tots.
I most definitely would NOT pay money to be a member here.

I went there again today, had to take away a star because of the old, cranky, & RUDE lady that demands you to sign in even though you’ve already been signed in!

This is a ;private club, but if I lived near by, I would love to be a member.
I play a annual golf tournament here. And the course is always in top shape, the club house and mens locker rooms are extremely cleaned and well maintained.
Seacliff Country Club, thank you for being a great host.
