The Waterfront Beach Resort

Didn’t have the best first hour experience here… Came for a birthday weekend and going up in the elevator we got stuck in their for about 40mins. Which was horrible, but honestly this can happen anywhere! And it’s how the business treats their guest when something unexpected happens and their staff definitely stepped it up! We could not be more grateful! They compt our stay for the night and left us some Champagne and cheesecake in our rooms with a hand written letter. We truly appreciated how well they were to us, as their guests. It spoke very highly of them! And we will definitely be staying again. And aside from that all their staff was so nice, every staff member from the hotel we ran into left and right all had a smile on their face and greeting us. Their hotels are clean and roomy too!

What a great hotel. The staff was friendly and very informative. Ramil made us feel welcome and like family. Thank you for all your help and great suggestions. Family friendly pool open til 10pm. My lil daughter enjoyed the complimentary extras they had like the cartoonist and the balloon animal creators. Food by the pool was reasonably priced. 1 complaint they need to add chicken fingers on the menu. We had an ocean front room on the 12^th floor amazing view! Room was nice clean and spacious. The location of the hotel was fantastic … Short walk to the beach shopping the pier and Main St. Anyone with kids looking for a staycation this is your place. I will def be returning. Thank you for a memorable weekend

We had our wedding here on 4÷23÷16. All the staff were amazingly nice to us and catered to all our needs. After searching for a venue for 2 – 3 months and getting discouraged because we didn’t find anything that we loved. We were just in the area on a Saturday and just stopped by check it out since we’ve to about 20 different venues already. As soon as we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted right away. We met with the event planner and had a tour of the ballroom upstairs. We looked out into the beach and fell in love with the location. We went ahead and booked the location immediately and never looked back. All I can say was that all the guest were blown away and had an amazing time. Everyone said that was the best wedding they’ve attended. Also cost about half the price at the Hyatt which was next door. Can’t beat the price or the venue!!!

Trying to celebrate our anniversary, we were booked in another resort, but after a terrible experience with their staff/​room/​grounds, we left and headed to Huntington Beach. We arrived late at the Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, around 8pm. Their valet service was attentive and waited for us to go inside and check if there were any rooms available as we did not have reservations. After just five minutes, our room was booked for a two night stay. The valet parking is very convenient, even thought it is $ 35 a day. We were able to call down anytime we needed the car and the car was always there when we got downstairs. We had a clean, spacious and comfortable room with an awesome view of the pier, pool and sunset. Our luggage was taken from our car and brought to our room quickly and to our surprise, a chilled bottle of champagne was delivered with a nice note from Austin Youngerman wishing us a happy anniversary! Such a nice gesture to end what had been a terrible day.
The pool area is lovely and spacious, with plenty of chairs, towels ready for us and of course, a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean! We did not try the restaurant as we spent a lot of time down on Main St, the beach and the pier, which is just about a 5 – 10 minute walk, so we had our meals down there. There is a nice market that had all the basic needs, specialty items and gifts, and a nice coffee bar with breakfast and lunch items.
We ended up having a lovely Anniversary thanks to Austin and the staff at the Waterfront Beach Resort and can’t wait to return!

I’ve never met a more friendly, welcoming and helpful staff! From the very moment we arrived, we felt like we were on an amazing relaxing vacation! We had a wonderful one night staycation (we’re from LA), and had an amazing Mothers Day brunch! I cannot say enough about the staff, especially Selena and George for our brunch (I really should name everyone, but I’m having a hard time recalling everyone’s names). They really went above and beyond to make my Mother’s Day brunch AMAZING! 5 stars isn’t enough! We’ll definitely be back!

The worst branded hotel in the region. After 6 month living in hotels (mostly westin, st regis and hyatt, all at the same price range) in the OC region this is the worst. Wait time for a meal is 1hr +, the room looks and feels cheap, front desk very unhappy to work in this place.

Huntington Beach is one of my favorite place to spend time with the family. We have a wedding to attend in June and decided to book a room. My experience booking the room was a 5 plus. Michael the front manager was very helpful and answered all my questions. He gave me a 5 star service so I am giving the Waterfront Hilton a five star review.

We just stayed here and had an awesome experience. That takes a lot for me to say because I stay in hotels a lot, I’m SUPER picky with hotels, and I’m a loyal Marriott Rewards member so staying at a Hilton put a halt on me getting my points :)
We drove up for the day and wanted to stay somewhere on the beach and close to Main Street. We considered the Hyatt next door but decided to give the Hilton a chance as it looked like a cool spot and was closer to the pier. They also have a free shuttle to Main Street and bonfires at night.
We checked in late in the afternoon and at first had reserved a partial ocean view room. Upon check-​in I asked the gentleman working at the front desk if by chance he could get us anything with more of an ocean view. To our surprise and gratitude, he upgraded us at no cost to a full ocean view king room. It was stunning. The customer service we received from the moment we walked in was 5-​stars.
The hotel itself is beautiful. Very clean, smells nice, and everyone was friendly. We had drink at the restaurant and sat by the fire before going to Main Street. Service was great there. We also had very smooth experiences with the valet and they catered to anything we needed with transportation and were very professional. The van driver was also extremely friendly, knowledgeable and thanked us for staying at the property.
We also had room service delivered later in the night and the food was excellent and hot, service was very friendly and definitely worth the price of room service.
I saw the other review on here regarding construction. I can’t imagine how that was much of a surprise as the website states it all over when you’re making a reservation, there’s yellow hard hats in the hotel telling people before you even check in that there’s construction from 8 – 4 every day, and furthermore just driving to the hotel it’s surrounded by construction! You can’t go into something fully aware and then dock the place for it in my opinion. And it’s not just a Hilton issue, the construction is across the street from the Hyatt that is next door as well.
The room was very clean, bed was super comfortable and the shower heads had this 4-​way twisty thing as well that changed the water pressure. It was cool. The pool area is very nice as well and there’s also a cool gift shop and deli next to the restaurant as well that sells Starbucks coffee, souvenirs, sunscreen, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, etc.
All around cool place. I will definitely stay here any chance I get.

This place is not great and pretty frustrating. We paid for a king ocean view room, which we technically got, but most of the view was of the ugly construction site next door. They have a free shuttle to and from the pier, but the driver spent a bunch of time telling us how much better the Hyatt is and how the Waterfront Hilton rips off its customers by charging for wifi.
When we got back to our room after dinner, we discovered that the wifi that you pay for doesn’t work anyways! The Internet on my husband’s computer simply would not allow him to load or open anything. That night when we tried to sleep, we realized that the walls are paper thin, dogs bark at 6 a.m. because it’s a pet friendly hotel, and the fridge turns off and on all night, making a horrible buzzing sound! Also, the pillows are tiny and have legitimate lumps in them. Super uncomfortable.
I’m bummed. This was my last birthday before we become parents, and I had hoped for a much nicer experience!

Visited during spring break 2016. On the south side of the hotel they are building another hotel tower and the construction is loud and disruptive. Other than that, the hotel is nice.

This place is gorgeous and RIGHT AT THE BEACH.
Husband had a half marathon to run and I got to enjoy the perks of it! The room is great. We got a balcony room and it faced the ocean. The weather was perfect that time as well.
BED: Soft, lots of pillows. It may had been too soft and I LOVE soft. But it was good.
FOOD: The food served there was good. We had breakfast at the restaurant and I bought coffee from the stand and they were good.
AMENITIES: They were standard Peter Roth shampoos and stuff. But I did love that we got free water in the room. AND A FRIDGE!!!
WALLS: The walls are thin… you could hear everything.
VIEW: The view was gorgeous
OVERALL: This place is just beautiful. Great when you want to be at the beach.

I have to say as a precursor to this review, I want to make clear that it is not a reflection of the staff at the Hilton. The staff themselves are wonderful and very accommodating.
The hotel rooms are outdated and due for an upgrade, the walls are paper thin and I could hear EVERYTHING happening next door.

Could have been 5 but the beach was a bit of a walk for me. But every hotel on he Pacific Highway is that way.
This one stands out for me because you can watch the sunset on the horizon while at the pool or by the fire pit. And for you Starbucks addicts, they have one near the pool!
Convenient location and fast service when you check in /​out and when you valet your car. So that’s a downside as its only valet parking. But if you like that, then it’s an upside!
Good for both business and leisure. Surely worth a try when you’re in the area.

RUN — do not walk from this place.
Stayed reluctantly for two nights last week. Booked on
which I later realized had very misleading pictures and descriptions. I arrive and the room is right on top of the restaurant — not private at all. I ask front desk for a new room with more privacy and they said the only thing available is the waterfront room which was extra money per night. They also said the bathroom would be upgraded which is why we agreed to the extra fee.
We arrive in our room and agree to pay the extra fee for an updated bathroom and beach view. We realize this place robbed us. To my dismay, I see a 1980s style bathroom straight from a Howard Johnson and my view is of an empty smelly construction lot with machinery. The hotel which I thought would have Hilton quality (again the name deceived me) did not budge on the price. I was ready to walk out and grab a new hotel but they were armed with an outlandish fee for cancellation.
My story shows the terrible service and lies.
Additionally, the décor is old. The clientele is older, the bathrobes are stiff. Not to mention they charge over $ 40 for valet.
I don’t see the upside to this place. Stay at Hyatt down the street.

My relax place to go! Yes its a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The rooms are clean and all employees are very attentive.
We left a brand new jacket and a top — the security guard actually made his way to check up in our room. viola! it was still there!!! (THANK YOU!!)
Room services were top notch! MUST TRY: Turkey Breast club sandwich and the 5 cheese platter (w/​grapes!)
The view is AWESOME! Especially in the morning enjoying the cool breeze with a cup of coffee = PERFECTION!
Only down side for valet they do charge per day and no in and outs.
Will def be back!!!

The most amazing hotel experience, PERIOD. As my wife and I arrived, we were greeted by an extremely polite, professional valet host. As the doors to the hotel were opened for us by yet another hotel employee, we entered and were blown away with the Christmas décor, soft music and clean smell. We both immediately felt as if we were on a tropical island on vacation.
The check in was easy and within 5 minutes of walking through the front doors of the hotel, we were in our room.
The clean updated room and amazing views were breathtaking and although our visit was a one night stay cation, we were able to escape the hustle and bustle of reality.
Recommendation: if you’re hungry (late night) order the onion rings and cookie jar chocolate chip cookies and ice cold milk. SENSATIONAL

Our check in was at 4pm but since we spend the day at the beach we ended up checking in at 10pm, so upon checking in:
valet is $ 32 in addition to your rooms cost per vehicle. I’ve never heard of this before!
Once we got checked in the room, there was a smell of wet carpet, and that’s what exactly it was! They offered us a new room but after 2 hours after our check in time! By then we were so exhausted we didn’t even care!
The next morning at around 8am I started hearing construction going on and it went on and on! So freaking loud! I was so upset!
All I wanted to do was to sleep in and enjoy the breeze, but instead I hear trucks backing up and saws going on! That’s pretty much in a nutshell! Stay away till the construction is over with. Customer service is pretty good but the circumstances of the stay made it a real bad experience.

Beautiful… just absolutely beautiful!
I was here on two different occasions…
1. I attended a wedding here a few years ago. It was an outdoor wedding on the side lawn of the resort. The venue was breathtakingly beautiful! For the reception, they prepared a huge tent.
2. The I Love Poke Festival was held here just a few weeks ago. The venue was perfect for the festival. Again, they set up a huge tent.
The valet here is super nice. And the hotel itself is beautiful too.

I am at the hotel right now and beyond pissed off (I normally don’t do a rant in real time… I give them a chance to fix it… but my head is throbbing so hard right now, I’m about to cry. I plan on writing them and depending on how they rectify the situation then I will update my review. I just called the front desk a 2^nd time saying if this wasn’t going on at a hotel I would’ve called the cops an hour ago.
Ummmm, if you’re in a hotel room and you can feel the vibration of the dj music from the 4^th floor and hear all the words of the song while people are screaming, it’s too loud. I feel like I’m at a college frat party! Called front desk and they said «sorry nothing we can do» One more hour of this crap. Not happy. Got an early meeting tomorrow. This is definitely going on my review. Arrrrgh, I specifically requested a quiet room for this very reason. This is frustrating!!!
I went on my balcony and recorded it, it’s so loud. WTF. People are trying to sleep. I’m in my room and the thumping is going on inside our room, that’s how loud it is. I’ve never experienced such a loud and obnoxious level of noise at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at-​EVER!
I’m so mad that I emailed them while I’m still at their hotel. This is obnoxious, I’m tempted to call the cops.
Don’t expect a good night sleep here. Sickening!

This review is not for an overnight stay. I attended the OC Restaurant Launch Party held here.
As you walk through the front door, you will notice that this hotel has a modern and beachy feel with multiple, cozy, seating areas. The hotel is very large and spread out and consists of different yet connected buildings.
The location is so convenient to the beach, as it is on PCH and offers vast ocean views just across the street. Main St and the pier are also within walking distance.
This would be a perfect place for a meeting, and the Launch Party was accommodated very well indoors. It was supposed to be an outdoor event, but the threat of rain did not allow for that. The hotel was able to provide for a seamless event.
parking — valet parking only. For this and some events, it will cost $ 10. But overnight parking for guests is much pricier. If you plan on staying for only a short time, it costs just $ 1.50/hour to park at the meters directly across the street.

Super LAGE. Wenige Schritte zum Strand und zur Main-​Street.
Sehr gepflegtes Hotel. Allerdings fand ich die Preise für das Valet-​Parking und den Internet– Zugang (38 $ für 3 Tage) hoch. Valet Parking kann ich noch nachvollziehen, da es wohl in den USA ein eingeführtes Verfahren ist.
Aber die Kosten für Internet waren schon GRRRR.
Zum Glück gibt es ja eine Kaffeekette um die Ecke und dort gibt es den Internetzugang umsonst.
Mehrere Shoppingcenter in weniger als 30 Minuten Fahrzeit zu erreichen.
Zu den Attraktionen im Norden von LA (Universal Studios/​Hollywood) sollte man auch außerhalb der Rushhour 1,5 Std. Fahrzeit einplanen.
