Very awesome place. Walked in no appointments got my glasses the same day. dr. Allen is a very cool guy. He relates to the common man, he’s a really great guy to talk to. I really love this place. I recommend anyone who needs glasses to head over right away! they will take care of you.

I just want to start off by saying that this office has new staff. Also the Doctors here are wonderful and very experienced.
Not only am I a customer here at Star Optometry, but I’m also an employee. I’ve been working for this company for 7 years now. Mostly at our Orange County and Long Beach location. Now I am here in Huntington Park along with a whole new staff. I really hope our past and future customers give us a chance to prove that we care about them and we want them to walk out of our office happy. We are not satisfied until our patients are happy with their services here at Star Optometry. If anyone has had a bad experience here, please come see me and we will try our best to make it right

I am giving this office a less than 1 star they take advantage of people. They don’t give you a receipt with the details of what you ordered. Then when it’s wrong they want to charge extra. The office is very unprofessional. I called to complain and he said do whatever you want as if I need permission to let people know that this office is the worst optometrist I have been to ever. Please be careful going there they don’t know where your paperwork is and they assume that your insurance doesn’t cover what you need in order to charge you the max. He thinks he knows it all and is always late or not in office during business hours. You also have to call to check and see if your order ready.
After the providers response thought I’d share they did not give a receipt to my aunt and no explanation was given for her order. When my aunt went back they tried to charge her more money! She already was paying over 300 dollars. It was the doctor’s mistake but he said he would not correct order. I am aware of insurance and copays I work for insurance company they just try to make people pay more than they should. The sad part is my aunt is on a fixed income has Medicare and they still do this to patients. I stand by my less than 1 star this place is horrible in customer service/​satisfaction.

I’m not one to write a review but this place is an exception. I was there a few times before I moved away. It has been positive experiences and I’ve recommended to friends/​families for years. I would definitely stop by if I’m in the area, love the quick service. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and price is very reasonable compares to other places. Jackpot!

I have mixed emotions about Star Optometry, and after visiting them for the last 3 years, I figured it was time for a review. Star Optometry is the type of place where their customer service makes you feel like a telemarketer interrupting their dinner — the moment you walk in, the staff here has a way of making you feel like a schmuck. From being blatantly ignored, to them not ordering my contact lenses for weeks at a time, having to listen to unnecessary conversations about shopping excursions, to waiting for folks to finish eating their bag of potato chips before being acknowledged, I’ve been patient with them simply because as a person who was born with the vision of a bat, I really like the optometrists here. They’re knowledgeable, friendly, take the time to explain just about everything, and leave me feeling like I am in the care of a great doctors. If I was rating simply based on them, I would gladly leave a 5-​star review, but after attempting to order a new set of contact lenses and being met with a few grunts with no mention of price, amount of time it would take to receive them or even what brand I wanted, I realize that I would much rather travel anywhere else than have to deal with the bitchiness that is the staff at this place. It’s simply not worth visiting.
