Food was tasty but the wait time was excellent! I’m going back to try their menudo. I hear weekends get busy but worth the wait for the menudo. Also heard from relatives that the posole is just as tasty, I gotta find out for myself.

Came with my family after going to the movies trying to avoid paying so much at the theater. Ordered two burritos nine tacos, 2 super mulitas 3 large horchatas one medium water and a glass coke. Total was $ 60.00. It would have been worth it if the food was good. Somethings were good like the horchata(how can you mess up on hotchata??) Over all it was a very plain experience for me. I did not leave a tip since the service was terrible. The cashier got upset because I wanted to change my order. She had to erase some of my order so she can fix it so she made a large sigh, stared at me very upset that she had to change the order mid way. After that she realized she made a mistake and tried to be nice again but it was too late for us. For me customer service is key and once you fail to give that it’s a bad experience with tension in the atmosphere.

Hadn’t been to Don Chente’s in probably at least a year or two and let me tell you the cup says El Burro. Everything is different and pricey. Ordered a fish taco plate the fish was bland as can be and it had a sauce that had a kick so needless to say my 5 year old did not like it(we asked and were told it’s not spicy, yeah ok not overly spicy but it has a kick). Ordered a dope and gordita plate my proteins were mixed up but even those were a bit bland and those needed a kick that was not around. Miss the salsa bar. Service is non existent. Will not be back for bland food

Love the Pozole too. Overall this is one of my fav spots to eat for lunch since it’s close to my job lol. Highly recommended this restaurant.

My favorite thing to get here is the Molcajete. I’ve noticed not much difference in the 1 person vs 2 person molcajete. I would recommend.

Ordered some chilaquiles salsa rojo. Mom had 2 sopes al pastor breakfast I’m giving it a 3 star because of the sopes, they where rock hard, drenched in oil.

Service is good and friendly. Chips are stale from yesterday or who knows when. Salsa is reheated. Rashes and carrots and lemons are brown and old and rubbery. Did I not eat them they should be in the trash. Eggs were way over cooked and burned rice was cold and beans ok. I feel like I am in a kitchen nightmares episode. Somebody in management needs to step in and fix all this or they won’t last longer. It’s 10 am I am the only customer in this big restaurant.

My family and I used to visit this location regularly. It was good food for the price, they offered a nice salsa bar, and the staff was great. But the ownership recently changed, and it has gone down hill since then. The last time we came in, they got our order wrong and took forever to bring out our food. When we pointed out the mistake, they were really rude about it. But we dismissed it as a one-time incident and came back yesterday. They not only got our order wrong AGAIN, but when we went up to order a second time after realizing they had also left out one of our ordered food items, they messed that up once more. The quality of the food and the customer service really do not make this place worth the visit. We’ve learned from out mistake and won’t be coming back.

I work really close to this place, and have been coming here for years. However, after the last few trips, I think I might have to move on. They’ve never been real great at consistency, and I’m pretty laid back when it comes to minor issues, but they’ve consistently given me my order wrong lately and I think I’ve reached my saturation point. It used to be that they just couldn’t get my name right(a pet peeve since I’ve been going there forever!), I’d have to explain several times that I don’t eat meat(yes, chicken and pork qualify as meat!), or that I wanted a separate sour cream. Now it’s just all wrong. A lot. They keep the place as clean as they can(I’ve personally seen the clientele be ummm… Less than helpful in this department) and the staff has historically been pretty nice. However, the food quality has gone way down since they were sold, and I guess I’m just tired of getting my food, my name, or my bill right only 1⁄3 of the time. Sorry, Don Chente. :-(

I came here for the first time. The service was horrible and when I asked for a shake with strawberry and banana, they said they did not have bananas. I asked for strawberry and blueberries shake. They said they didn’t have blueberries. The server could not really tell me what type of fruit they had since they had run out of a lot of it. I finally just told the server to give me a strawberry shake and I ordered a fish ceviche tostada. The shake was horrible and the fish ceviche was okay nothing special. I wont come back to this place not good.

After checking out their very nice website(yes they have one). And checking out their caldos. I grabed the car keys and my roommate by the ears and ran out the door, I mean what better for dinner on a cold early evening after the rain than a nice caldo de res and a caldo de albondigas for the roomie. Off we went. We get there and wait!!! I see pozole, I see birria and I see menudo on the menu board. I asked the girl, where is the caldo de res? And the albondigas? She was like oh we don’t sell those. Grrrrrrt blood pressure raising. Pop a lisinopril hector. I said but its on your website, ok never mind. Give me Camarones costa azu… we have no bacon she said with a big smile. Blood pressure raising again. In closing I been here before and it’s ok, but is not ok for them to advertise foods on a website and then not have it in the actual restaurant. This was not a we ran out incident, they just don’t serve those two caldos at all. Off to la barca jalisco…

Oh, man talk about a satisfying experiençe! My husband and I got the«molcajete for two» and it was very spicy, flavorful and filling. Comes with two drinks(no free refills on Aguas fresas, only sodas), two sets of rice and refried beans, two sets of tortillas of choice and two deserts!!! You never finish it lol People there are sweet, it’s very clean. But sometimes the music they play on their televisions can be too loud. But other then that, wow !! Try their green chili.

Great customer service. The food is excellent! No fatty chicken or meat. I don’t like it when the food had fat or super chewy. The burritos mojado are the bomb ! Well mostly everything you will try here will be great becasue it has no msg. The jamaica is delicious. Everyone try this place, it’s worth it.

What a disappointment. I just got back from Don Chentes now with a Pozole and Carne Asada Nachos. I was dying for a Pozole went around town trying to find one, finally did and brought it home. When I take my first bite, it smelled applied and tastes spoiled. I put all the condiments trying to hide the smell. But I kept eating and the small and sour taste wasn’t going away. I asked my mom to taste it and let me know what she thought. She immediately tells me it was spoiled. I called the restaurant and I explained to the girl over the phone what happened. She says«oh really, it’s the same Pozole we have been serving all day and no one else has complain» As is I would gain anything by making the story up. She told me to go back and that they would give me a new Posole. Of course I said no, because it’s going to be the same one. I tell her that I don’t feel like going out anymore because is very cold outside, if I can stop by tomorrow. She puts me on hold to ask the manager. She comes back on the phone and she said that she was sorry but the manager said no, that I couldn’t get a rain check. The carne Asada nachos were good, but that will not be enough for me to go back. It was my first time eating here, and their lack of sensitivity to the costumer completely turned me off. Terrible terrible. Of course I will not go back again. :(

Saturday, March 12014: Horrible customer service! I ordered the beef enchiladas plate but before ordering I asked the cashier if the enchiladas come with onion(I don’t like onion), so I ordered that. 20 minutes later, the plate comes and guess what? Onion! I politely complained to the waitress that these enchiladas come with onion when the cashier confirmed they did not. The waitress offered to replace with chicken enchiladas since onion is mixed in with the beef(the cashier did not mention this after asking her a onion related question). When the replacement came, she said this is the last time we replace a plate, and that the cashier told her I never asked her. My GF was with me and confirmed to the waitress I did ask the cashier. Clearly, the cashier did NOT want to own up to a minor mistake and called us, the customers, liars!
