Not a huge selection today, but we managed to find some excellent items at this indoor farmers market. Located inside the gym of the Elementary school, there’s a decent selection of local goods. Today, there was only 1 produce table with a small selection of produce. We came late(12:00), so there wasn’t much left. Prices were steep. We stopped by pickle table(because who can turn down a garlic sour pickle?) They had a great variety of pickles and olives at reasonable prices. The real star here was the Ridgewood Pork Store table which was brimming with amazing looking meats. We sampled some and left with a chunk of pancetta and a lovely chorizo. I can’t wait to make something with them! Prices were excellent. Check out the pics from Joe N. He took some quality pics of their amazing selection. There were also tables with soups, jams, breads, and coffee. Overall, I was impressed. I’ve never been here before, but we will certainly make this a regular stop on our Sunday errands! The Market is open Sunday’s from 9 – 1.

Will definitely go back, I love supporting local businesses! When I went I bought some really nice artisan multi-grain bread, it was very good. Also purchased some apples, and various vegetables, the leeks were monstrous! Such a difference in quality and the apples looked like real apples not covered in wax and chemicals. I also bought some really nice handmade soap as well. I love buying local and will be back for sure! Really hope they keep this up in the summer too when there is more as the fruit pickin’s were slim but that’s to be expected in winter. Stop buy and support local and buy healthier too! =)

When ever I see a farmer’s market open for business, I get excited. It’s better then the circus coming to town. I love being able to buy locally grown vegetables and fruits. To hear someone say«I planted them, watched them grow and picked them» is awesome. We need to re-connect with the food we eat. Picked up some NY state organic apples and some awesome pickles from the guys at horman’s.(best pickles ever) All I can say is, get there when the doors open, the good stuff sells fast.

Get here early before all the good stuff is gone. Today there was fresh Italian type breads, scones, winter veggies(greens), cheese, eggs, Empanada, pasta & sauces, pet treats, coffee(brewed & beans), the apple orchard stuff(donuts, juice, apples, cookies), stocks, hot sauce, pickles, jams and Im sure I forgot a few– sorry. there was some lovely background music by a twosome singing with guitars. Chairs were set up if you wanted to snack. I like it much better the the ones last year– better vibe. Not nearly as big as the summer one but still a cool place to head on Sunday morning. PS. It was wonderful to see Tara at the Unilocal table with some sweet swag!
