There aren’t many stores at all. I almost never shop here and if I do, it is only because it’s nearby. It is a clean mall, but I would rather go to Roosevelt Field Mall, Broadway Mall, or Tanger’s Outlets…

Love the mall! However, there is one store I will not visit ever again. Saks! The saleswoman in the shoe department was not helpful at all. She could care less when my daughter was looking for shoes for her wedding. She had no time for us and argued about the color «blue» and she was clearly incorrect.
Also, I planned on trying on MOB the dresses and the saleswoman in the dress department acted as if we did not exist. So, I plan on looking at Neiman Marcus instead.

I love this mall. From the location to the mix of stores and nice selection of restaurants. It’s easily walkable, not an endless maze of hallways like other malls. It has a nice upscale feel. Lots of parking too. This is my mall of choice!

The first enclosed mall on Long Island. 1964.
New incarnation is a big shiny cluster-f**k of glitzy shops geared mainly towards women.
With all the discount outlets (Tanger) and online discounts I cannot believe anyone with a clear head would shop here.

I got my 1st bracelet from Pandora for my birthday. I had to do the exchange because it was too small. Once they got the right size bracelet in the store I went in and did the exchange and was happy. A week later I noticed one of my charms was missing and went back to the store to see what they could do about it. The sales women told me I had to call corporate office and once I did they send my a replacement charm. So I was happy they stood behind me and did the right thing.

this mall has become an unrecognizable shiny marble — riff raff –less mega dollar experience. I can’t afford anything here, but I can dream.
Mall cops on Segways and absolutely no fast food chains that would allow kids to dwell.
Clean, well lit and regal, it is a pleasure to walk around the corridors or visit one of the great restaurants like Brio, Zin Burger or of course The Cheesecake Factory. Bring a pocket full of dough.

This is the mall I went to as a kid and still frequent today so I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years. I remember when the Cheesecake Factory used to be a rundown movie theater. Yup, those were the days. It used to be a place where punk kids hung out with their bikes and skateboards and now it’s a lot more sophisticated and upscale. The layout is super simple — just one long strip up and down from Bloomingdale’s to Macy’s. Unlike other malls, it’s impossible to get lost. Just over the past several years, the upgrades have been tremendous. Adding more stores and restaurants to the exterior makes it look a lot more bustling. True it doesn’t have a food court but there’s definitely no shortage of places to eat. Regarding the shopping experience itself, I can’t really comment on that because I actually hate shopping! My wife loves it though so my favorite thing to do is to let her do her thing while my kids and I hang out in front of the Microsoft store playing the Kinect games :).

Walt Whiteman Mall. Never was a fan of this place before or after the renovations.
The first and last time I stepped foot into this mall was June 2010, I went to Macys to buy a pair of flats. The guy came back with a pair of simple black flats for $ 50 and I asked him if he had anything cheaper, he then came back with a $ 30 pair of plain simple black flats and said, «These are the cheapest ones we have» in a condescending voice.
Everything here is over priced and you can probably find the items cheaper at an outlet.
One thing I do like is the Apple Store, I have nothing but apple products. If I ever need to buy something for my Macbook or iPad I will go there.
But all in all I despise this place, filled with the snobby people I went to high school with.

Like others said, this mall used to be pretty boring; not a lot to look at, very bland. Although there still is no food court, there are ample places to eat outside the mall (cant enter from inside), an abundance of stores, very clean, some sitting areas even have charging stations when your phone is dying.
The caveat is that its pretty expensive, so if you’re young/​making minimum wage, theres not a lot you can afford except Forever 21. Even a candy bar at the snack kiosk costs $ 1.50, too much imo. In general it is not really a mall for younger people/​teens/​families, since the stores are very fancy/​expensive.

Pretty sweet mall. Has tons of stores including the fancy ones that my girl likes to go to. Nice setu pwhere you mostly walk down one large corrddor. Lots of cool food places like zinburger. a little overall pricey and maybe a bit too ritzy but i think thats north shore long island for you.

This mall used to be dive. About 5 years ago they renovated it & bought in high end stores & restaurants. Saks, Bloomingdales, Michael Kors, & Macy’s to name a few. They recently added forever 21. Pretty much all the major stores you need are here like jcrew, Williams Sonoma, gap, express, lululemon, banana republic, Starbucks & Teavana. Just lacking on shoe stores overall. Lots of food options mostly outside of the mall. Zinburger, California pizza kitchen, of changs, Panera bread & brio are here. It’s a nice small mall with just what you need.

I don’t know if I am the right person to rate this mall as this is the only mall I have been in for the past 10 years or so and I only come here about twice a year. This mall is not too crowded and has great parking in the back so you can drive down the road behind the mall slip in the parking lot and not have to dal with the crazies driving in from 110. Every store I have ever heard of and some I’ve never hard of are represented here plus a not bad Starbucks. If you love crowds come here on a weekend.

This mall just does it for me… I always leave with something… firstly, it is extremely practical in its set up unlike Roosevelt field which is a complete shit show or Broadway/​south shore/​sunrise mall which are all disjointed flea market types… This mall is classy and meets just about everyone’s needs from the best pick of dept stores. Macy’s, lord and Taylor, Saks and Bloomingdales I mean you are def walking out with something… Plus they just added this awesome strip of shops plus eateries like zinburger and brio Tuscan grille which are delish. Or you can eat in Saks at cirellas or even the cellar in Bloomingdales which also has an awesome menu …
The possibilities are endless at this mall from food to shops… Also, tech stores such as apple, Sony and Microsoft decorate this mall… Anyway, bottom line is this place does not disappoint… You can spend your day shopping or run in for a quick top either way it’s convenient and there is something for everyone!

Great location — I know shoppers are often intimidated by higher end malls (and that’s great for the rest of us because you don’t bring your scuffle) but there’s a Gap just like everywhere else.
Clean and comfortable, you don’t feel packed like sardines on a Friday night.
Food options could be improved upon nearby.

last time we were here it was like ehhhh… now I cannot believe this mall. we kept joking it was like we were back at a fancy mall in LA.
West Elm is the best store ever and about time it came to long island. really try driving to the one in Brooklyn… plus as Roosevelt field is a big train wreck right now it was nice to walk in a clean elegant mall. and it isn’t as crowded so it was 5 minutes in a store compared to Roosevelt field you’d be in there like 30 just to buy 1 thing. anyway this will be the new mall for us for now. and I cannot wait to try zinburger or any of the fancy places. yes there is no food court but we aren’t teenagers so what do we care lol.
p. s. get a crate & barrel next and you’ll be one of my favorite malls in the country

For most of my life, I’ve been going to Roosevelt Field Mall. However, lately, my boyfriend and I have been frequently Walt Whitman. Although Roosevelt definitely has a better selection of stores, Walt Whitman has all my necessities (many department stores plus smaller boutiques). They also have more unique dining options and it’s typically less crowded.
It also recently underwent renovations so everything is clean and the layout is well done.

The Walt Whitman Mall has come a long way. It used to be just another LI mall full of basic stores where you would go if you needed a gift for the person who has everything. After a recent makeover, this mall has made a huge turnaround. The exterior is now full of various stores, as well as restaurants (including a burger & wine bar!).
The inside is stunning and feels clean. A lot of higher-​end stores have setup shop here now including Bebe, Kate Spade, Coach, and BCBG. The typical flagship stores are also still there (Bloomie’s, Macy’s, and Lord & Taylor). Overall, it’s a lovely mall to visit if you want something a bit more high end. Just don’t come here expecting a food court, there isn’t one. But they do have quite a few restaurants (and Panera) to choose from.

This is a pretty kick ass mall for 2014. In 1989? It sucked nads.
My wife is a Huntington girl and we dated in the 20th Century (It sounds messed up when you think of it)
We’d come here to shop at Macy’s, get hair product at McCrory’s (A five and dime stores, what ever happened to them?) Olivia Newton John had a cute clothing store line here, they had a hair stylist cut my hair, this was my hang out area!
When Rocky 4 came out, Rocky had this leather jacket with a fur collar. I’m in the mall with my brother and see a similar jacket. Oh snap, I’m getting it! He says, get me one too. Ok, but I’m gonna charge it on AmEx, you have to give me the cash when the bill comes.
No problem! (He didn’t.)
We even watched the Mall on fire one year?
This mall to me was always one note, it goes to from left to right. That’s it. Its packed with great stores:

Sony, Apple & Microsoft with an XBOX game center outside the store!
There are upscale mall restaurants like Legal Sea Food and The Cheesecake Factory as well as Auntie Anne’s.
This is a nice mall, it will always be my 20’s date mall hangout.
