The kitchen and waitress were so considerate — we ordered everything for share, they even plated one main dish in separate plates when serving.
Scallop and seared tuna were pretty good.

Good atmosphere but not modern, like a good ol’ boys club atmosphere and older crowd. I eat out a lot so I decided to come here because reviews from two people who said they were Foodies and eat out a lot. It wasn’t bad but not sure if I would come back. The bread was great, seasoned with butter and garlic. The shrimp cocktail was good, shrimp cooked well and the cocktail sauce was tasty. I got the ribeye and it wasn’t seasoned enough so wasn’t very tasty. I was pretty disappointed. Also, some parts of the ribeye were over cooked. The wine list was nice just wish they had more handcrafted cocktails. Maybe other entrees are tastier but I would not recommend getting a steak there.

This is a pleasant surprise. Great atmosphere very quaint very classy. The staff was very well read and spoken. A great understanding of their menu. I would recommend this to everyone looking for a quality meal. Great place for a date or romantic outing. Pleasantly surprised about the quality of this place and the outstanding food. Recommend to everyone looking for dining experience found in large cities.

Party of 8 — Dinner
+Very historic feel. A great atmosphere to have dinner.
+Owner greeted us — Very nice guy. Waiter was attentive.
+We were placed in a private room.
+The menu was upscale, with a nice selection.
+The wine selection and pricing was fantastic: Caymus and Cakebread Cab Sav, both priced in the low $ 80’s/bottle. Nice! Two of my favs.
+Caesar salad was crisp and fresh.
+Mac & Cheese is a MUST! You won’t want to share.
–Parking is tough. It’s downtown.
–Steak was slightly over-​cooked. Med-​rare was ordered, Medium+ was the result. Other steaks were under-​cooked, from what was ordered.
–Bartender was less than enthusiastic and not attentive, unless the owner walked in. We would’ve had another round of pre-​dinner drinks, but we decided he was too much trouble. Lost profit on 8 drinks, plus tip. A different bartender is needed.
Overall Grade: 90% out of 100%

Great place for dinner, been here multiple times and it never disappoints. Typically go with the steaks and what ever the special is for the on the appetizer. Five stars for one one of the best restaurants in Huntington.

Great place for dinner! Started with the mussels and then the pork chop for entrée. The mussels were great and the pork chop was amazing!

In my opinion, 21 is the best place to eat in Huntington. The Rib eye steak is delicious. The atmosphere is formal yet relaxing. I have never had a bad meal there. It is on the high end of the price scale for West Virginia, but it is worth every penny. If you are looking for a place for a special occasion, try 21. You will not be disappointed. Be sure to make a reservation.

The cream of caramelized onion soup is awesome.
The creamed spinach and the roasted brussel sprouts are delicious.
The ribeye is dynamite.
I would say from a consistence standpoint this is one of the top 2 restaurants in town.

Overall enjoyable. Wine service needs work. The wait staff are not well trained, however. The dishes varied. The beet salad was quite nice. The garlic mashed potatoes not so much. The crab cakes disappointing. On the positive side the salmon was delicious. Shows room for improvement.

All of the reviews except Tyler S. (11÷3÷2014) are on the mark. Absolutely great food. Wine by the bottle, filet, creamed spinach, brussels sprouts, and soufflé for desert. All were perfectly prepared and served. Service was really a cut above, prompt, attentive, no «good choice», and handled a delicate intruder situation very well. No problem with splitting a dinner. It was all seamless.
One final thought is we had a party of eight including kids. The kids were also very complimentary of their food.
When everyone has a great experience it is a true five stars.

Where do I begin? The incredible atmosphere? The stellar bar? The delicious food from start to finish? I crave the scallops from 21. The best I’ve ever had. Their specials never disappoint. Great, romantic spot tucked away in a historic building.

I love how classy this place is! The atmosphere is perfect for a night out with your significant other, very romantic! The food was fantastic, some of the best creamed spinach I’ve ever had. The wine selection was great and the prices were good enough to buy by the bottle!

We love the knowledgeable staff and bartenders — this is a hidden gym in the City of Huntington. Whether it is a Valentine’s Dinner or some drinks with friends you desire, it is the place to be!

I have only been here for drinks, so I cannot speak to the food.
This place seems to appeal primarily to a crowd of a certain age. I came in for drinks with some coworkers and we were easily the youngest patrons there by at least a decade. Also, there were no specials, so it’s not really a great happy hour place.
But the décor and ambiance are worth checking out at least once. The lobby of the Frederick building is beautiful and (dare I say) fairly opulent. It looks like it’s been frozen in a time when Huntington had considerably more wealth and grandeur. The bar itself is also nice, dark and cozy.

I travel all over the country for work and consider myself a foodie and a guy who is into food culture.
I missed my flight out of Huntington for the evening and my local rep recommended this place. At first site I could tell it was going to be a great place. The food was of the highest quality. The steak would rival any 5 star steakhouse in the country. The conversation was even better. The bartender and the chef were very friendly and informative.
Overall this was a wonderful experience and made me wish I got to Huntington more often. This is hand’s down the best steakhouse/​restaurant in all of West Virginia.

My favorite restaurant in the Huntington area. The food is very high quality and always made fresh, which is why it is always so delicious no matter what you get! (the seafood is exceptional). The service is great, which makes dining there quite an experience. The building décor is elegant and classic — no other place like it in Huntington.

Came here for after-​dinner drinks on a Saturday night. Since we came near closing time, the place was pretty empty, which may be why our server was a bit overattentive.
The drinks here are good and very reasonably priced. The décor is classy and reflects the heritage of the building and the space, with gilt elephants all around the border of the small dining room and other rich, dark surfaces and materials.

We attended a reception here today and the food and service were very good. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous and the hors d’oeuvres were tasty. I was a big fan of the bacon wrapped beef-​stuffed dates, caprese skewers, and the spinach and cheese stuffed puff pastries. The ambiance was classy yet semi-​retro.
