Our office practices full scope optometry. We use the latest in technology to help diagnose and treat ocular diseases such as cataract, glaucoma, macular degeneration, etc. We also provide urgent care, such as, the treatment of red eyes and the removal of ocular foreign bodies. In addition, we have a dispensary with over 600 frames, including many designer names. We use the latest in lens technology and contact lenses to provide our patients the best possible in vision care. Our staff is friendly and knowledgeable and we look forward to you visting our office. Our office is also a proud member of Vision Source.

History

Established in 1980.

Family Eyecare was established January 1, 1980, when Dr. Host took over the practice of the late, Raymond Lauer, O.D. Dr. Host, a 1977 graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry, and a native of Kokomo, IN, and his wife, Nancy, a native of Bloomington, IN, moved to Huntington after Dr. Host had service two years as an optometrist in the Medical Service Corps of the United States Navy a the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Host is active in the community including: the Optimist Club of Huntington as a past President and two time winner of the Optimist of the year; member and Past President of the board of directors of Junior Achievement in Huntington County; Dr. Host is currently on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Huntington.
