So disappointed – I expect more from Doubletree. On the same evening I checked in, I sat down to work at the desk only to feel ground meat(I’m guessing from a previous resident’s pizza) under my bare feet. The next morning I left a tip for housekeeping along with a note asking them to carefully vacuum the suite. That evening when I sat down to work at the desk – you guessed it – my bare feet ended up on more ground meat. The next morning I left another tip and a note asking housekeeping asking them to vacuum the suite – even left the ground meat on a tissue next to the note. The backsplash behind the bathroom sink had at least a months worth of dust in it and the full length mirror on the bathroom door had water spots across it – neither were touched over the 4 nights I stayed there. To give credit, I mentioned my concern to the night manager(the same morning I left the second note to housekeeping). The next morning he left free breakfast coupons under my door. As I left the hotel that morning he asked if the suite had been cleaned. I mentioned the less than clean bathroom. Finally, a card that was in the table of the suite when I checked in states that sheets would be changed every 3 days. Well, its my 4th night and the sheets have not been changed. Needless to say, I won’t be staying at the Doubletree Suites in Huntsville again…

Mediocre at best. Okay, so when someone said clean rooms, it must be an anomaly(timing or clean compared to Motel 6 or something). Here’s what I observed last stay… dust bunnies all over the fan and vents. AC would kick on and bed would be covered with them. They could use spackle on the ceilings as drywall hangs down and nails are exposed; couple rooms like this. Found hair usually all over bathroom area. Doors squeak. AC in some rooms are really loud or vibrate the bathroom. But at least the milk in my fridge is cold… oh wait, the thermostat was preset at frozen so my milk is too. Construction on Memorial ain’t helping with noise either. Oh, if it rains, some rooms may sound like a waterfall because some gutters have rusted through. Let’s steer to service. I don’t eat breakfast anymore because 2 instances the waitress didn’t acknowledge presence, thus no water, juice, or coffee in the morning. I had a bottle water on me that was free though to help wash down the food. Bartenders and front service are good and at least I feel okay(it’s not Motel 6) staying here. 1 star for the cookie plus 1 star for some, but not all, good peeps. **Correction on fridge… it wasn’t preset to frozen, the thermostat is broken. Bring ice cream, makes for a good freezer.

I’m impressed with this hotel. Adorable and clean! Friendly service as well. The room was very quiet too. I’m pretty picky and hate staying in hotels, so it’s hard to impress me with most places. I would return if in Huntsville again.

Big rooms with multiple TV’s. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. While the location is not great I think the rooms are well appointed. Parking is wrapped around the compound and I always seem to have a short walk to my room. The rooms I have stayed in have all been 2 separate rooms with 2 big screen TV’s. Bed is comfortable couch is not. My office chair had a broken wheel this time. Service has been great! Room service for breakfast has always been on time. Check in is usually swift.

There are a few things I look for when traveling for business that contribute to my rating of a hotel: Lobby — The lobby at this DoubleTree is very modern which contributes to the ambiance upon entering. At the front desk they are generous with their cookies. It has been too cold the last few times I’ve stayed here but they also have what looks to be a nice patio area to enjoy in the summer. Parking — None of the high parking fees or valet nonsense that are common at the mainline Hiltons or even some other DoubleTrees. Parking is free. Internet — Plus one star for their the internet here. Internet is free and fast — I could stream HD video from Vimeo at 9PM. No tiered(i.e. pay for speed) access required! Outlet access — Check! You won’t be moving furniture to plug your iPhone in here. Outlets are readily available at the base of the lamps on the desks and night stands. TV — Channel guide under each remote and no LodgeNet menu that is impossible to escape from after turning on the TV. These things combined with the classic DoubleTree breakfast make this a 5 star establishment!

Had a three night stay booked here. Called to cancel the first night only and got confirmation from the auditor, but somehow he forgot to write it down. Therefore the first night came and went and it was booked as a «no-show,» so the rest of the reservation was canceled. Showed up the next day around 5pm and they’re all booked, and no they can’t boot someone else who a) isn’t there yet, and b) isn’t a Diamond member to make up for their mistake. Stayed at another Hilton property that night instead and will use them next times too, sorry. The best part is that, although at the time they admitted their mistake, they left it booked as a no-show as if we didn’t show up for our reservations, and charged our credit card for it, WHENTHEWHOLEHOTELWASBOOKED. So basically the hotel made money they weren’t entitled to due to their own«mistake.» In the legal world this is known as «unjust enrichment,» and it’s actionable.(Hilton Corporate is paying us back — what do you want to bet it doesn’t get charged against the franchisee?)

This DoubleTree is a gem within the City of Huntsville. As you enter through the sliding doors the aroma of pleasant clean citrus along with the design almost makes you think you’ve walked into a resort in South Florida. During my stay from 8÷9−8÷11÷13, the staff was very accommodating. We stayed as a weekend getaway for fishing, NASA Space Museum and Huntsville Botanical Gardens. The location of this hotel is close to most attractions. Its also within minutes drive to a Robert Trent Jones Short 18 hole golf course. We stayed in a King Suite with a Sofa bed that was separated by french glass doors. Those doors actually does drain out the noise from the TV unit in the front room. Which is very convenient if you’re traveling with young children. The suite also comes with a microwave and a small apartment refrigerator. Which I would recommend buying your own water and soft drinks, otherwise the charge at the hotel is not a surprising 2.00 per bottle. The breakfast buffet was great and was included in our weekend getaway. Its pricey if you have to pay for a family of four. However, its a standard DoubleTree buffet and eggs are cooked to order. All drinks, coffee, tea and juices are included in the buffet price. If you can afford the additional 20.00 per day to the room price its well worth the price for Breakfast. Happy Hour is from 5pm — 7pm and selection is limited to beer and wines for 2.00−5.00. The shrimp tempura, crab cakes are 50 percent off and are worth the 4.50 per order. There was a small downside, the whirlpool was not working.

Newly remodeled hotel from the old Radisson which was absolutely disgusting. Hilton did good job updating the property and making it a fairly good place to stay. The rooms are suites, the bathrooms are nice… so overall I would recommend staying here. There are two other Hilton properties along the same street.

New version and brand of an existing facility. Only open for 3 – 4 weeks they were still going through growing pains. Room was very nice, spacious with two rooms, 2 flat screen tv’s, roomy shower but smallish bathroom. Nicely equipped fitness center. Breakfast buffet was not very good with a poor selection and quality even for the $ 10.95 price. Similar to what you get for free at the Hampton next door. Wasn’t interested in eating dinner there since breakfast was so disappointing. Internet a bit of a pain to sign on to but it is free for Honors’ members.
