We are a family owned and operated business that started out in Round Rock, Tx. Gabe had worked in the air conditioning business for years and finally got tired of businesses charging too much for service, repairs, and replacements; so, in 2008 he started G & S Mechanical, focusing on «good ol’ fashion» service that was honest, affordable, and reliable.

G & S Mechanical is family owned and operated. Gabe has 18 years of HVAC experience and holds our HVAC license with the state. He began building duct in shops, has been a service tech, has done both commercial and residential installations. He worked for several years for the contractor that ran all of the HVAC work at the Tucson Air Force base where he was in charge of building the systems for hospitals, apartments, libraries, pretty much anything the base felt like remodeling… which they liked spending money.

I run the office. I have a BA in business admin from U of A. I was a property manager for apartments for 10 years and just finally 2 years ago came on full time.

G & S opened in 2008. We run our company very differently than the majority of the A/​C companies. Our main goal is to always find the most cost effective solution for our customers for their A/​C needs.

Jesus with G & S came to the rescue for the broken a/​c unit. He found a capacitor which needed replacement along with a wire burned out due to a lizard who got in the unit. He thoroughly cleaned and charged it. Thanks for your speedy service! They do a great job on explaining their findings and getting it done. Highly recommend!!!

I love Austin, but the worst thing about July is the excruciating heat outside.
What’s even WORSE than that is the heat INSIDE, which is what happened to us last night.
We had family over and the air conditioning was working fine most of the day. In the evening, we decided to do some grilling and noticed the temperature inside wasn’t going down. We thought it was because of the cooking inside and me coming in and out of the house, and the family running around. Well, we didn’t realize until later that evening that only warm air was blowing through the vents, not the cold stuff.
Jairo from G&S came out the following morning at 9 am, found the problem within a few minutes. Turned out to be a broken capacitor. He double-​checked our AC system in the attic to make sure everything was good there. In and out in less than an hour!
I was expecting to shell out an arm and a leg for the fast service call and repair. The cost turned out to be very reasonable and fair.
I know HVAC folks are swamped during the summer, so for them to take the time to take care of me, that says a lot about the company!

Jennifer, Jackie and the whole G & S team are Rockstars! I have a client who lives in down by Manchaca, TX (Deep South Austin) who’s AC went out yesterday afternoon. They spent the night in an 80+ degree house completely miserable. When their regular repair guy didn’t show up by this morning, I placed a call into G & S Mechanical, hoping that they could help. Sure enough Jennifer and Jackie were able to get a repairman out their by this afternoon. They took the time to investigate as well as educate the homeowners on what the problem was. They were able to fill up the freon as well as get the house cooler for the night. They will be returning tomorrow to replace the existing coil. I was so please to get periodic updates from the homeowners. G & S went above and beyond for their new customer. Way to go! We will be referring everyone I know to G &S for AC installation and repair. Thank you for taking care of «OUR» Customer’s! So pleased with the service and quick delivery! Thank you!

I had an issue with my AC that was diagnosed by another company and was going to be pretty expensive. I talked with G&S to get a second opinion, and I was super impressed with them. They gave me their straight-​forward, no BS opinions, telling me that the first company I called in was being honest. I was super impressed with their knowledge and candor. Next time I have an issue– I’m calling them first.

The day I left for a week out of town training the AC at our house went out. I told my wife to contact Jackie to see what she could do. The next day her tech, Jesus, came out and fixed it immediately. He discussed the options with my wife and they decided on a reasonably priced universal part fix leaving for further discussion a more permanent fix with a proprietary part.
Perfect service and my wife loved her tech, Jesus.

We’ve used G & S on 2 different occasions, with 2 different on-​call technicians and both times they were able to quickly assess the problem, make the necessary repairs, and test the system to ensure everything was working properly. These guys clearly know what they’re doing, and they don’t tell you a bunch of nonsense to get you to spend more than necessary. In fact, their pricing is very reasonable, always better than expected.
I believe we forget how fortunate we truly are to live in an age with something as wonderful and amazing as air conditioning. That is until it goes out. When that happens, we know we’re toast, literally! So these guys are like heroes to me, helping to restore our magical world of cool comfort.

My entire experience with G&S was Grade A! The cost to replace my entire system beat all other quotes I had received. Gabe and his entire team showed excellent professionalism, superior knowledge, and extraordinary customer service. Don’t use this company! My contractor hired G&S Mechanical to install a full HVAC system at my property. G&S was provided a complete scope of work and agreed to that scope of work via emails that were exchanged between my contractor and G&S. G&S failed to completely install the system as per the scope of work and when my contractor had them go back to finish the work, they charged us $ 1100 extra. Not only was the work in question already covered under the original scope of work, G&S charged exorbitant rates for what they claimed was «extra work». When my contractor refused to pay the additional sums, G&S filed a lien on the property for the $ 1100 which I subsequently had to pay.
Currently, I’m in the process of selling the home. My buyers had an inspection done on the property, and two issues were found with the HVAC system. The first issue had to do with the failure of G&S to properly install a filter over the return air duct. Because of this oversight by G&S, sheet rock dust got into the HVAC system and caused some issues that need to be fixed. The second issue had to do with the failure of G&S to use fire-​rated insulating foam around the furnace exhaust pipe. I contacted G&S to have them come out and repair these two issues which are covered under the 1-​year warranty, but they claimed that neither issue was a warranty issue and said they would not fix either problem.

You cannot go wrong with Gabe and Team!!! My AC went on the fritz the day before July 4th. Gabe came out that day and got it working. He also gave me the truth about the unit, and a month later I had him put in a whole new system! His whole team, from the office to installers to himself, are great! He also had the best pricing in town! He will not try and sell you something you don’t need. Support a local business man, choose G&S!

They just came to our house to check my system for a routine service and turns out i had clogged lines and all kids of mess going on. The tech was super informative, very professional and did a kick ass job for a bargain of a price! The guy didnt try to over sell me or talk to me in super technical terms and he was just great! Highly recommend them to anyone needing AC repair.

I can’t say enough good things about G&S. I’m a property manager, and as such, have frequent run-​ins with tradespeople, good and bad. Gabe (owner) is always at the top of my referral list. He and his techs are very knowledgeable, prices are reasonable, and work is completed promptly.
I even had G&S go all the way to San Antonio to install a new system at my in-law’s house, rather than use another contractor. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my freon ;).
