Another person with no idea why this place has mediocre reviews. Great meal, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Prices a little higher but worth it

Will not be back… ordered schrod baked with cracker crumbs, got some kind of cheese sauce, baked potato tasted like it had been steamed to keep it warm, wet on the inside couldn’t eat it, vegetables were soaked in ransid tasting butter. when I asked for a plate someone came over and gave me a hard time about getting me a clean plate so I could take the fish out of the unwanted sauce, later I found he was the owner. Bottom line, mediocre food and subpar service … no one offered to get me a different meal or adjust the bill… enough said.

Overpriced and sucky food! Ordered the lobster ball and the rack of lamb which were both substandard for the astronomical price they charge. Definitely not going back and most definitely NOT recommending this place.

I have no idea why this place got maybe average reviews. Came in from Boston and I took my two sons there(9&7) for their first steamed lobster cracking/eating lesson. Sat outside on the sidewalk patio. First off, the steamers were plenty and sweet and plump, steamed in beer, butter, and garlic. So good. Our lobsters were big and meaty. Service was amazing and very accommodating, and helpful with two curious and excited boys.

My boyfriend and I were walking the strip at 2:30 when he complains that he’s hungry. I warned him that having lunch at 12:30 was going to be too early for him, but I was happy to have a coctail and an appetizer if we could find a place that sells a decent sangria. Well, we had a horrifying experience with flies at the outdoor bar at Torino Restaurant, so we fled across the street to Schooner’s where we noticed an advertisement for a pitcher of sangria on the patio. Although we ended up ordering the Dublin Mule and Mexican Mule instead(one with Jameson the other with Jose Cuervo), we had a great time. The fried calamari was good, but the portion was a little small for the price. It comes with a sweet asian salsa which we got on the side. Anne, the bartender, was very sweet and attentive. It seems she was waiting on the tables inside while the others were waiting on the patio, but since it was an off time it was a little slow anyway. We were certainly not neglected. Next time we are in Hyannis around dinner, we will definitely give their meals a try.

We had a perfect meal! Lazy Man’s Lobster was fantastic. They substituted pasta for potato without blinking an eye(or upcharging). Lani, our server was attentive and informative. Can’t recommend it more.

We had the Lazy Man’s Lobster. The food was not fresh. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery. The ice cold baked potato came on a small plate with some squash falling off the side. The wait staff was running around in every direction but did not seem to be doing anything considering there was very few people eating. The resteraunt was nicely decorated however it was lit up like a Hospital emergency room. We found the resteraunt manager on the way out sitting at the bar talking with a couple of waitresses. The energy at this place is like eating at a Diner at breakfast, caotic, noisy and hurried. Save your money.

Stopped in for a late lunch without checking reviews. Regretted it when a turkey sandwich took strangely long to produce(the place was near empty)… and then when it arrived, it turns out I’ve had better turkey sandwiches from convenience store delis. True story. This restaurant is seriously ho-hum, and while it’s not expensive, it’s not worth the money. The best thing I can say about it is that it wasn’t actively awful. But I recommend you walk on by… that’s what I’ll do next time.

Scallops and lazy man lobster were good but steak tips were burnt and kids pasta was disgusting. Very disappointing. Waitress didn’t offer to rectify anything when brought to her attention. Not worth the $&

Excellent food and service reasonably priced. A bit off the beaten path on Main Street but that makes it less crowded. Highly recommended.

I dont think I will ever come back here, The waiter got our order wrong, brought the wrong salad and recommended we had the clam chowder and the mussels marinara one after the other and not together to keep the mussels warm(makes sense) but brought them at the same time… The food was overall okay, nothing extraordinary. The coffee machine was broken and the waiter never offered the dessert list! I’m sure there are much better places in Hyannis!

We arrived here tired and exhausted after showing up at 2 restaurants locals told us to visit who were BOTH closed at or around 9pm ! Anyhow, the staff was warm and greeted us nicely and w/in minutes we had wine & some bread. By mistake i ordered the wrong wine & the waitress replaced it w/no problem. The bread was really excellent. We shared an app(i can’t remember if it was mussels or clams but it was really solid). For entrees we both had specials, i had the Shrimp Fra Diavlo & it was really good with a nice kick. We also had the steamed lobster which was just really excellent & flavorful. Yes it was quiet there but it was also a wed. night & while most of the local restaurants seem to close early Schooner’s had no problem keeping the lights on(so late !) and serving us.

We walked in without reading a review. It deserves more than 2 and a half stars. Steamed clams were meaty, delicious and fresh. Mussels Bianco had a delicious broth. Salads were fresh. Scallop Casino was very good. Loved their bread. Best of all, the dishes were not salty. As I get older, salty food bothers me.

Stopped here to watch the wold cup game and eat something while watching the game, and waiting for the ferry. The staff couldn’t have made us feel more welcome if they tried. The owner sat at the bar with us. Just a lovely man, who is a perfectionist when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. The waitress was a real star! We were going to order calamari, but she recommend we share the local soft shelled clams, or steamers. They were AMAZING! So fresh, sweet, and tasty. We had to catch our ferry to Nantucket, but now know that we’ll be stopping at this lovely gem whenever we are in Hyannis. I know this is a long review, but this little restaurant, which also has outside dining, really deserves 5 stars on every level!

This place is awesome. My friends and I were only in Hyannis for two days but we made sure we went to this place twice. The owner is very friendly and treated us like we were his best buds. He told us all the cool bars to check out and which ones to avoid. He was spot on because we had a great time. There’s a really cool patio in the back which is very secluded so it would be great if you have a big party, or if you are on a date. Atmosphere is awesome, staff is great, foods top notch, and it is very clean. Definitely check out this place.

I like this place a lot, its really cute and the waitresses are amazing. I ordered the pan seared sesame seed chicken with veggies and it was ok but not what I was expecting… I thought it would be a full breasted chicken with a wonderful display, not so much. And the owner wasn’t the nicest at all.

Food was good very filling meal. Took a gamble with this spot. The service was on point. The quality of the food was very good. Had the crab cake appetizer, grilled salmon, and the seafood pasta carbonara. Would go back again anytime!

I also wish we’d checked Unilocal before eating here… it should be a telltale sign that they are empty with waiters urging passersby to come in for lunch. There was one other couple at a nearby table eating. I don’t know if our waitress was new or didn’t speak English well, but she didn’t know the menu and we had to ask for refills of water and ice tea. We got the fried ravioli, it took forever to come out and the sauce was watery and she never brought us plates. Ordered the scallop roll they had clearly come from a frozen bucket, there were 5 scallops on the roll that cost 17.99! RIPOFF. Two other people at my table got the«large» ceaser. Their version of large must off, it was maybe a tad bigger than a dinner salad and they both said the dressing was weird. Slow service Barley edible overpriced food Bathrooms were clean Keep walking there is something better on this street! We WON’T be back.

Not sure why the other reviewers hate this so much but we were seated and served right away. The food was good and they have a nice variety of cuisines. The stuffed filet of sole was especially good. I must say some things are weird since we had to explicitly ask for pita bread with the hummus since the server was surprised that anyone might want to eat their hummus with pita. Also, unlike the previous reviews, we were told the days specials rightat the start so the restaurant does seem to be reading these reviews and making an effort.

Avoid this place at all costs. we were seated right away then sat there for 20 mins, waitress came over and was very sorry, «I forgot about you» really. Placed our order, ice tea for me and water for the wife, when waitress refilled my glass, coke not ice tea, I hate coke. Had a stuffed clam for an app, it was horriable, no flavor, no taste just nothing but filler. I also had the lobster roll, worst I ever had. Then come the bill, only 2 people were there me and my wife, they had the nerve to add 18% tip to the bill. I almost always leave a 20% tip if not more, today I was only going to leave a 10% tip because of the bad service and they slip a 18% tip in.
