AAA Party Rentals

I have dealt with Brittany on several occasions, and she is awesome. Very professional, courteous, and accommodating. Although I sometimes pick up and deliver back to the Virginia location, I like dealing with Brittany so much, that she’s the only one I contact and trust to deliver!

We have used AAA for over 10years now and the service is superb, this past weeks rental was crazy hectic, but the staff help me switch out tables and tables cloths before out event. Brittanie and Ms Simmons have stellar customer service skills and went over and beyond to help me during my last minute changes, I even had to talk to Ms Simmons on Saturday about a deliery we needed for Monday and she helped me every step of the way to make sure our event would be a huge success. I would reccomend AAA Party rental for all your rental needs.

I have used AAA Party Rentals (Alexandria Location) extensively over the last two springs/​summers. While I often use all of the major rental companies in Northern VA, AAA stands out for its customer service. I found AAA’s prices to be competitive and better than many others in the area. I guess that you get what you pay for. While they fielded my many calls to change my order without complaint and were very nice over the phone, the day of delivery things got dicey. I Had requested a pm delivery SEVERAL TIMES. I called three times to check that we had the PM delivery slot and anytime they called me, I would ask again. I’m persistent but wanted to make sure my boyfriend was there when they set up the tent because I wasn’t sure exactly where to have them place it. Anyway, they called at 9:00 am and said they were on the way. I said «but I specifically requested PM delivery.» The driver said «well, i’m on my way now and I have other things to do.» To which I said «So do I! I’m hosting a party for over 6o people.» He just sat there silently so I said okay, thanks and hung up. I called my boyfriend and asked him to contact them because he’s more forceful. He called the company, they apologized, said it was a mistake, and sent them back in the afternoon.
Setup was fine, they were efficient. Nothing out of the ordinary — we even tipped them for their hard work. I should mention at this point that we were expecting a HUGE rainstorm just in time for this party. Thunderstorms and rainshowers were about to hit us hard so we were especially relieved that we had planned to have a tent. So, Friday, while we are setting up tables and putting up lights I suddenly notice small holes in the ceiling of the tent. ALL OVER. ALL OVER. Should I repeat? ALL OVER. Tiny holes to fingertip size holes and up. I started panicking. My boyfriend joked that we could tell people it was a planetarium tent. (just to show you how bad it was). We quickly drove to a hardware store, bought white duct tape, and he tried to track down a ladder tall enough. My boyfriend spent approximately 3 – 3.5 hours taping holes in that tent. HOURS. He probably covered 300 holes. In one corner, there were 23 holes. Yes, he counted. That tent was covered in duct tape, luckily it blended. The sidewalls were also torn and covered in holes but we weren’t as concerned (we were hoping the wind wouldn’t be so bad to blow rain through the sides). Anyway, we called repeatedly to complain and ask for some money back. They initially said they would try to bring another tent out. Called back and said they didn’t have another they could bring, and offered $ 150.00 off. My boyfriend told them that a tent costing $ 550.00 with 300 holes was unacceptable. We wanted at least half. So, the manager gave us the runaround. She said she needed to talk to her boss (although I give her credit for calling him back in a timely manner and trying to keep in touch on Friday and saturday). She still said she wasn’t waiting on an authorization on Saturday and he decided to follow up on Monday. They played phone tag Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday when he tried to reach Mrs. Johnson again she didn’t call back. She never called us back again. So, my bf drove out to Landover! He showed up at their warehouse, insisted on a refund, and they gave us $ 200.00 back. While it wasn’t exactly as much as we deserved or wanted (truthfully, it should have been free), we were content. I feel certain they will not trash this tent (as they should) but will send it out to other unsuspecting people’s events. (I noticed later that another complaint was posted on angie’s list saying they were rented a tent with lots of holes so either this is an ongoing issue or we got the same tent). I would NEVER use this company again. NEVER. They were less expensive but time is money. We have spent so much time rectifying the issues caused by their bad products.
Lastly, we missed some holes and people still got dripped on during our dinner party. So frustrating. I hope I can help steer someone else towards another company with my story!
