We ended up here Christmas night because they were open. They weren’t our usual. We have been so happily surprised with everything we have tried. Yes, they’re a carryout. Which is too bad, because it would be nice to have a nice sit-down Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood, and this one is the only one with food that fits the bill. The only thing I’ve found that’s been less than wonderful has been the egg roll, which is a typical egg roll. Not bad, just not the caliber of everything else. The wonton soup — broth is really good.(I don’t actually eat the wontons.) I wish the noodles were homemade, but small sacrifice. The hot and sour is standout. First, it has excellent flavor. Second, it’s got no meat. None. No pork, no old chicken. Third, the veggies are fresh. Everything is fresh. The veggie lo mein is fabulous. They use real mushrooms. Fresh ones. Not canned. They put together bok choy and shrimp as a dish for me, and I get it every time. The shrimp is always wonderfully cooked. Huge and plenty and tasty. They use garlic. Spices. The veggies are fresh! The people who work there, the woman especially, are super nice and patient with working with you and answering your questions. As everyone else said — they don’t deliver. That, and the fact that they don’t have a regular restaurant, are their only deficiencies in my opinion.(And yes — it’s been 19 days since we tried this place. We have been there six times, for lunch or dinner.) Did I say they weren’t our usual? They are now.

Hole in the wall serving up some tasty Chinese food. They DONOT deliver so call ahead and pick up. I saw all the rave reviews about the wings so I had to give them a try. They were pretty damn good. I tried the General Tso wings and they were crispy and delicious. Beef and broccoli with fried rice was also really solid. Staff was friendly and polite. This is a big win for Hyattsville. I’m a fan.

The chicken wings at this Chinese restaurant are amazing. Their always very hot and properly cooked. All of the dishes that I have tried here Are well seasoned and well cooked. Prices are good and their pretty fast. The cooks seems to be properly trained and the restaurant is always clean and you always see them cleaning in the back and not just sitting around. I saw one person peeling fresh shrimp one day which is great that it’s not frozen shrimp so they care about their food quality. This is the best carry out Chinese in the area and after visiting some on of the better places this side of Maryland to get Chinese period.

I’ve been coming to this carry out since it first opened up and I’ve always been met by the friendly smiles of the owners. The food has always been the BEST quality chinese in the area imho. I moved to Takoma Park a few years ago and I have no qualms making the 10 – 15 min drive to pick up food from here. 5 stars from a happy & satisfied long term customer.

This Chinese restaurant is wonderful. The service provided is great and the food is amazing. I ordered no.1, which is beef with broccoli and it was great. Although the flavor is a little bit heavier than what I am used to, it’s forgivable probably because this is Fujian Cuisine. The only setback is that there’s no air-conditioning in this restaurant. Carrying out would be a great idea.

So far so good. Food is always hot when I pick it up. The staff seems friendly, but I’ve only been here a few times.

I happened to stop by this place for the first time while walking home. I really wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I’m happy to say that this was really good food. They have a lot of tofu/vegetarian options which I really appreciated. The quality of food was basically what you would expect at a more formal and established type of restaurant.

It’s another neighborhood Chinese carryout. We got them all over the place and I cannot say this one truly stands out like others have mentioned. It’s better than many of them but it is what it is so a high rating doesn’t mean a lot just better than average. It was a busy evening there the last time I went and it seemed like they mixed up a few orders but corrected them quickly. The food is good, the fries were not overcooked. I will return if I am in the area but wouldn’t make an special trip just to go there.

My husband and I visited MD a few times before we eventually moved to the area. We wanted some good Chinese food during one of our visits, so I went to Unilocal, looked up Chinese food, and New Century was one of the places that popped up. There were seemingly good reviews, and it was nearby to where we were staying during our visit, so my husband placed an order and picked it up. I went with the shrimp and broccoli; can’t remember what he had. When I tried it for the first time, it was AWESOME. Broccoli was perfectly steamed and crisp; shrimp tender, juicy, and the sauce(perhaps garlic sauce?) makes all the flavors come together quite nicely. Since moving here, it is the only place my husband and I will eat Chinese from. I work in Hyattsville, and when I get off work and in the mood for Chinese food, we pop right over to New Century every time. However, there have been a couple of times outside of my work schedule where we just drove from Laurel to Hyattsville just to go to New Century if we had a hefty hankerin’ for some Chinese. The staff is friendly, and they give free soda and egg rolls with a $ 15 purchase. I recommend the shrimp and broccoli, shrimp fried rice, the sesame chicken and spring rolls. In my opinion, they offer some of the BEST Chinese takeout I’ve had in a long time! You WON’T be disappointed! :)

My family, and I have been going here for over 20 years. We do not plan on going anywhere else. I have been to several places in Chinatown, and this beats them all. The Curry Shrimp is amazing. The portions are great on most every meal. I love the Hot & Sour Soup, and when I feel like something fried the Sweet & Sour Chicken, and Lomein is always a great combo that you can’t go wrong with. They do give a free Shrimp Roll when you spend more then 15.00, but you do have to remind them when they are busy. The food is always ready in 15 min, or less I should know I go once a week when I don’t want to cook.

This has been my favorite Chinese place for a very long time. And you know it’s been a long time when the workers remember not only your voice, but your exact order over the phone whenever you call! I always get either the beef and broccoli or the shrimp and broccoli and their food is always on point! Good prices, good service, great place to order from. I only wish they’d deliver!

This place is within walking distance from my house — which I appreciate, because not much else is. My husband and I were hungry the other night but couldn’t decide what we wanted. Go into the city to get pizza? Make something like ramen at home? Order pizza? Finally I suggested the Chinese place up the street. Having been in the area for just a year, I still don’t really get the Chinese/fried chicken restaurant combo. Having fries and pizza rolls — not to mention the fried chicken — is not what I’m used to. And honestly, who came up with that? Were they high? Pothead: You know what would be awesome?! A cheap, fast-food place that’s generally open late that serves Chinese food, pizza rolls, fried chicken, burgers, sub sandwiches, cheese sticks and apple turnovers! Sheesh. About the only thing missing is tacos. Anyway, hubby and I decided to go the Chinese route. We ordered the fried dumplings, kung pao chicken and chicken with black bean sauce. For some reason, they also threw in an egg roll(which, by the way, they only have shrimp egg rolls. I find that odd and annoying). We waited about 15 minutes, got our food, paid and headed home. The dumplings were yummy, the egg roll(despite the shrimp) was good — but I would have preferred a plain one, the kung pao was good(and plentiful — that was a massive portion) but the chicken with black bean sauce was just so-so, I thought. The fortune cookies were good(hey — they aren’t all the same!) and the fortunes were great. Especially my husbands: It’s nice to be remembered, but it’s far cheaper to be forgotten. I’m not quite sure what that even means, but we found it hilarious. Honestly, I’d say it’s a fairly typical Chinese take-out place. Good when you’re in the mood for that kind of thing, but nothing spectacular.

Hands Down. Best Wings & Fries in the DMV! Yes, I know that’s not actual Chinese food, but everyone knows on the east coast Wings & Fries and Wings & Fried Rice are the #1 sellers at chinese carry outs. But don’t get me wrong, their Chinese food is very delish as well! They have have a black belt in making spring rolls. Corny, I know, but I can eat a handful of them at a time. Only down fall is they don’t deliver, so if you’re fiending for their wings & fries like I was on Sunday, you have to get your butt out of bed and drive over there.
