When you drive out to the Webster Barn(and it’s quite the drive) you go through the mountains, up and over hill and dale, and then emerge into a clearing with a gorgeous antique barn in it. There are huge fields, a tractor, a windmill, and a little farm house. The day I shot there, it was a gorgeous day– you couldn’t have asked for better. It was August(and warm) but a light breeze was sweeping across the field keeping both the heat and the bugs at bay. The bride and her gals got ready in the farm house(which is adorable, the only real drawback being that the stairs to the second floor are super-duper steep and once you have your dress and shoes on it’s sort of scary.) The groom and his guys got ready off site and unless you’re going the non-trad route of getting ready together, it’s a must. The ceremony was set up in the field and they ran power out for a keyboard player. The one weird moment was when I went to find the groom and his guys before the ceremony was to start and they were hanging out under the barn standing on the dirt floor in the cobwebs between old beams and lawnmowers. Weird. But then the ceremony started and they emerged and all was well. The barn itself is spacious– enough room to accommodate over 100 guests, a bar, a buffet, and a dance floor. The lighting is rustic and is very dim after dark– but during the day the barn is lit up inside by stained glass windows with a moon and sun(featured on their website). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about area vendors. The website is sort of 1995 looking but the sample wedding is all my pictures, so it’s worth checking out. :)
