Established in 1971.

Leo and Cleo Werner opened Smitty’s 41 years ago. They worked day and night to keep their business thriving. Only the best service and food products was their philosophy.

They serve the best home, comfort food and breakfast items and the selection on the menu is large enough, to please everyone. I love the chili burger and fries and my husband loves the breakfasts items. The staff is super nice and freindly. They were busy one time we were there and the server still did a great job. This place is great for families, my daughter loves the jello with wip cream on top that you can order with the kids meal. This place is a great family restaurant that had been around for a long time, my husband remembers coming here as a kid. It’s not hard to see why it is still around with the freindly service and great comfort food that they provide.

Horrible service, horrible food. The interior can definitely use a remodel as it smells old and musty and it just felt dirty where we were seated by the windows.

The food was excellent (especially the hash browns) and the portions are massive! The service was very friendly and they gave us a beverage refill in to go cups as we were leaving! Couldn’t have asked for a better Idaho Falls breakfast experience. Derek was amazing!

Great family breakfast. We tried the potato pancakes, biscuit and gravy, waffle, and pancakes. The only miss was the waffle. Not crispy or flavorful. Everything else was great. Service was fast, friendly and attentive.

I have always loved smitty’s! Mostly because they are the only place that serves both German Pancakes and Dutch Babies! They are pretty much the same but both so good!

Consistently great food, hit or miss service (although, the service has been much better in our last several visits). A lot of breakfast items are a la carte, but still reasonably priced and that means I get exactly what I want. Lunch and dinner menu doesn’t have this issue.

My husband chose to take us to this pancake house… not my first choice… BUT I WAS WRONG to doubt this place! Excellent quality traditional breakfast food. And we both got our full for $ 20 total!
I loved the Dutch Baby so much! It was perfect just with lemon and powdered sugar (but I also tried it with all the syrups: maple, strawberry, boysenberry, & apricot)
Super friendly service and homey ambiance. We will be back.

Excellent breakfast every time. One of the few remaining diners that make genuine German pancakes. Portions are excellent and never leave you hungry when you leave. I recommend to anyone looking for a great diner. Also breakfast is served all day!

Perfect pancakes. Crisp on the outside, and fluffy in the middle. Don’t really need any syrup, and the fruit syrups on the table tend to be a too sweet addition. (Shhhh, I put butter and salt on my pancakes) The chicken fried steak was seasoned well, but the batter was glossy and a bit overcooked. Next time I will order the eggs, pancakes and a side of gravy.

Quite a wait, but wonderful service, a lot of food, and constant coffee refills. Well satisfied! Delicious omelettes, I had the one with everything in it next to the garbage pale kid, and a side salad. Forward thinking for this prt of the country, and they offer ever add-​on or substitution you could want. Thank you for the great service!

I LOVE places like this. I knew I was going to like it even more when I saw their «People Love us On Unilocal!» Sticker! Winning!
We were cruising thru on our way to Great Falls and stopped here for breakfast. It has a old country/​antique feeling & the wait staff made us feel right at home. I ordered the biscuits & gravy & it was a HUGE plate, I couldn’t even eat the hash browns that came with it. The other people at the table ordered omelettes & said they were great, too. If we travel this way again I would def. make a point to stop here!

I can’t comment on the food because I was never seated. I saw at least 4 employees… One was messing with the curtains. Another one was facing away and never turned around. One came from the back and waited on a table, looked at me but never so much as nodded in my direction. And the 4th came out and waited on a different table and also looked at me and then looked the away. All they had to do was indicate that they new I was there…
I was there for approximately 5 minutes. It’s not as though it was packed. At 4:30 on a Sunday there were only 3 – 4 tables. I travel through here at least once a month… but will never set foot in there again. Apparently, they already had all the business they needed!
