I’ve always wanted to find some sort of TRULY applicable fighting(self-defense) discipline that both my family and myself could share together. With my youngest daughter being too small for most places when I first started researching, it was hard not to get discouraged. Then, while on my last deployment, my wife noticed that our youngest was old enough to try Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at a local location in Imperial Beach, so she asked if she should give it a try herself. I received a message from my wife as I sat in my room in the middle east, following her first private lesson at Clube do Jiu Jitsu Pitbull. The message was simple… «I’m hooked!» My family started training while I was still gone and I was soon to follow upon my return. With no previous experience in any form of grappling/wrestling, we were all starting from scratch. But I really think that as a husband and wife, it has been a lot more fun to go through similar learning curves around the same time. She comes home from a class I couldn’t attend do to work and she can’t wait to pass on a new(to us) technique that they covered that morning or night. And the same can be said when the roles are reversed. We have even had the pleasure of competing in a couple tournaments as a family. And we are not the only ones here that share this passion as a family. We’ve been on this journey for a year now and I don’t see it losing it’s luster any time soon. Much of that can be attributed to what the«Pitbull family» has provided from day one. We have a variety of higher belts that are constantly putting in time and effort to pass on their knowledge and experience to us. We also have an awesome group of black belts that spend just as much time on the mats with us in addition to running our classes. So there is a good variety of experience to pull from, but not at the expense of consistency. The place(especially the mats) is always clean, everyone is friendly, and there’s never a shortage of a good time when I/we show up to train. Pitbull is where it’s at!

Im a very proud Mom and Grandma, and Pitbull IB is a huge part of it! My son started training over a year ago, and my Grandson shortly after that! They love it ! I love that I’ve watched both of them gain confidence and discipline! The Team at Pitbull are all pretty awesome and very welcoming, making everyone feel like family! Feel very blessed to have Pitbull Jiu Jitsu in I.B.
