History
Established in 1906.
Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Homes have been serving Northern Kentuckians since1906 when Scott Chambers started a funeral service company, and by 1937 he had the first funeral home in Boone County. Mr. Chambers had two daughters, Mary & Aleen. Mary decided at a young age to follow in her father’s footsteps as a funeral director. There have been businesses at seven different locations in Boone and Kenton Counties through the years, but three are currently in operation. The original, full-service location is located in Walton at 45 North Main Street. In 1963, Jim and Janice opened the current location in Independence at 11 382 Madison Pike. In 1995 the location at 8461 Dixie Highway in Florence was opened providing a third convenient site to better serve the growing population in southern Boone & Kenton counties.
