Banas Package Store

What a great find, this little liquor store is located in Ludlow which has a very large Portuguese community. I had had a great Vinho Verde called Lavradeira, a very young green wine from Portugal, in a Portuguese restaurant in Fall River, MA. Since then, I had looked everywhere trying to buy it locally but had no luck until I stopped by Banas a week ago and there, low and behold, it was on the shelf 3 bottles for $ 10.00. They also have Lavradiera in a 6 bottle case for $ 18.99. This is a clean crisp refreshing wine served cold, it has a slight effervescence with notes of citrine and citrus fruits. If you are looking for a delightful refreshing drinkable summer wine that is reminiscent of a delicate champagne, Lavradeira will seduce you as it has me.
