Not my best experience tonight. Usually the service is on point and fairly quick, but tonight was not the case. They did not appear to be short-staffed, however it took a while for us to receive drinks, appetizers, and food.

My wife and i out in broadripple on a tuesday night and we were starving and good old apple bees is open till midnight or are they ??? Went into the parking lot which was empty and. Pulled on a locked door 30 minutes before closing time. Unacceptable. I am a rest. Manager and i would be terminated instantly if i did this. Called the next day and the manager was just speechless … Uh uhh uhh. I dont know i left at 8? … Fire them all time for new management.

Applebee’s is typically not on the list of places to go eat but Thursday night we were tired of the same places. We hadn’t been to an Applebee’s in a long time but this location tends to have the best service. We sat in the bar area greeted promptly and received our drinks. We ordered mozzarella sticks and chicken quesadilla we had them add bacon like it he to be served. Both dished were really good especially the quesadilla. Entrée I got Lemon pepper chicken with Granny Smith Apple salsa and rice with pecans’ cranberries. It was all good I was surprised by how well the rice tasted with cranberries and stuff in it. I will be doing that at home. My husband got a sandwich with pulled pork bacon and ham. He ate every bite. Our server was a lady you think of as someone’s mom. She was very personable and did a great job. She said a whole new menu came out Friday. We will be back to check it out.

I recently visited on Saturday night. My service was good and no complaints about the food. I ordered the burbon chicken with a salad wedge. My food came out in a timely manner. I have seen some of the older reviews, but based on the experience that I had maybe someone has been paying attention. I felt that I received my money’s worth.

applebee’s is hardly ever my first choice BUT their menu has improved over the years.(you go glen coco!) anyway, we had some bad luck yesterday at another establishment(that i have mentioned far too many times today) LOL so we came here. the host Nick was fantastic and so helpful and nice. i had a group of 7 young Black women and(blah blah blah post-racial comment here) i know that can be ‘intimidating’ for some who work in the service industry. he was great. our server alicia(or alisha) was fantastic too and suggested great options. she was swift and we had everything we needed. even if you’re not a fan of chain restaurants i would suggest giving them a shot. we sat on the patio and it was nice and relaxing. my little sis who is a budding photog took some cute pictures of the trees and waterway. definitely a fun time

My husband wanted a quick snack before work at 4 pm on his birthday. He ordered a full salad which was the size of a side salad at Wendy’s, and we also ordered the Wonton chicken tacos… The food was good. The staff was more concern with socializing… I was not happy with the service. The staff was very nonchalant… suddenly I remembered why Applebees is the very last place I would choose to eat at a «restaurant».

Well here we go… This is my first visit here, and I probably won’t be back. Our waitress Darlene was good but that’s about it. The bartender was horrible, acted like we were such an inconvenience to order drinks. How dare us. It’s 10:30 at night on Thursday and there only people at 8 tables. Yet it still took 30 minutes for simple Appetizer salads. There’s 5 servers here and one is a manger. Why can’t his place et their act together? Wish someone wold read all these so they can get their act together. I hope I get to eat soon.

I went with my husband last Friday night. We picked Applebee’s out of all the places on Broadripple because it wasn’t totally packed. The food was what you would expect from an Applebee’s. Our server was very nice. The only thing they lose a point for is: when we walked and were waiting to be seated, there were about 4 – 5 employees walking around and not one acknowledged us for about 4 minutes. That was a bit awkward. I understand Friday nights are busy, but a quick«Someone will be with you in a minute,» would have been more professional. Overall though, I’d say it was a good dining experience.

Just left Applebee’s in broad ripple with my family. I’m a chef so I don’t get to dine out alot’but I made an exception tonight. Applebee’s was our choice because its close to our residence. While ordering we noticed the atmosphere was quiet and not crowded for a Saturday night. when our appetizer came out, which was onion rings and buffalo wings at a reasonable time the first bite was ice cold. I immediately sent the food back and ask for the manager, I just couldn’t believe it ’ like it hadn’t been cooked. I waited 15 minutes for the manager and my kids food came out before she did but mines and my wife’s didn’t.when I called for the manager again the host personally went to get her, which took another ten minutes but my food came and my wife’s didn’t.I mean we expect to eat at the same time like a family should. this type of service and hospitality makes the industry look bad and by me being a chef(I had on my chef’s coat because I just got off work) I expect to be treated much better for my money Lord knows I work hard for it. I guess this is why I don’t eat out at major chain restaraunts’it shows they are truly not out for the customer. I will not be visiting any Applebee’s and plan on sharing my experience with everyone I know from family and friends to employees. this is truly not eating in my hood

This would be a place to go for lunch if you have plenty of time. If you are just going on your lunch break, where you have a limited amount of time, this is not the place to go.

To be honest… I am never very satisfied going here. I can’t complain about the food because it’s corporate applebees recipe, but the service here is isn’t worth paying for. I’ve gone there repeatedly simply out of convenience, but my boyfriend and I have stopped going completely. We LOVE applebees usually! Who doesn’t enjoy a guilty pleasure once I a while? But everytime we’ve gone here it has been incredibly slow, servers are sitting around chatting, joking, yelling, and there doesn’t seem to be any work being done! I used to work at restaurants as a server and a host and there is never a time to just«chill» in the food industry. The staff work extraordinarily slow and didn’t even seem very pleased to have us as customers. I now drive all the way to the applebees on lafayette road where the service is wonderful and I leave with a full belly and a happy heart!

Service was OK, friendly but slow. Food was very mediocre– it tasted like average leftovers. The small handful of french fries I got with my sandwich were amazing though. We only went for the porch overlooking the white river, which was nice on a Sunday evening to watch the boaters go by. The constant smoke blowing onto the porch from the chainsmoking kitchen staff was disrupting though. For the same price range you can eat at a number of fantastic establishments within a 5 min walking distance: 317 Burger, Flatwater(on the canal), Bazbeaux Pizza, Fire on the Monon, HopCat, Boogie Burger, etc. There really is no reason to go here just to eat. That being said, this is an excellent place to down multiple $ 2.50 ice cold bud light drafts on the back porch while stuffing yourself with mozzarella sticks and fries.

Applebee’s franchise is yet to wow me. Last night I got carry-out and sat at the bar until it was ready. The guy took my order but never bought me a drink I ordered. When my carryout was ready he apologized and gave me a to-go drink. That was a little off-putting. I tried the Signature Sirloin with Garlic Herb Shrimp. My medium rare steak was cooked correctly, but it was a little hard to cut with the knife. There was one tiny potato cut into four pieces and vegetables that looked to be microwaved as my sides. Overall, dissatisfied. Jason Sudeikis sexy voice on the Applebees commercials is the best I can say!

We love this place! Ask for Darlene as your server. She is the friendliest and most helpful server we’ve ever had anywhere. Now we go all the time and always ask for her. Food is great, and after 9pm appetizers are half price!

Totally horrible service, unless you are of an ethnic persuasion. We were seated on the patio and our overweight waitress took forever to get there and sashayed around like she had all day. Everyone around us was getting good service and the couple next to us got their drinks long before we did — and we had ordered our drinks 15 minutes before they did. A total of 25 minutes to get our drinks??? Attitude-filled waitress finally came back and by that time we decided to get out of there, so ordered nothing and waited another 15 minutes for our check. Never again. I can get better service at a McD’s, why should I go be ignored there?

We went to Applebee’s only because we were given a gift certificate. The staff is very friendly. The food left something to be desired. Ordered from the 2 for $ 24.00.I had the ½ rack of ribs, wow they were the smallest portion I’ve ever seen. I talked to the manager and he offered to bring out chicken strips to make up for the portion. I was eating ribs. Husband had steak, is was OK, he didn’t finish it, only 4 oz. If I’m given another gift certificate, I’ll give it away.

My review is in agreement with previous Unilocalers: You ‘do’ know what you’re getting when you go there, but the staff is friendly. The food is definitely«oversalted»(most corporate recipes are), but we love the Broad Ripple location. etc etc But, I give 3.5 to 4.0 stars because of why we occasionly go. OK, White River is not the ocean or Lake Michigan, but — Our only agenda is to get a big salad, sit on the deck, and watch the river boaters go by and show off. There’s always a couple of boat loads going back & forth practicing their water tricks. If they see you watching & you give them a wave, it gets even better. It’s great summer entertainment w/no cover! –don’t think we’ve ever gone in the winter or eaten inside!

Ladies and Gents there’s no need to pass the salt shaker here folks. All of your food comes with plenty of it regardless of whether you can see it or not. And if you can’t taste it believe me it’s there. Yes, yes I know, typical Applebee’s or shall I say typical chain food. They smother their otherwise bland food with salt in order to ‘enhance’ the flavor. Now let me clarify that I’m not saying their food is terrible but let’s just point out that there are tons local restaurants that ‘enhance’ their food with higher quality ingredients and food that stands on it’s own. I myself occasionally fall victim to the chain restaurant but only in times of desperation. Let’s point out what the apple of the bee has going for it shall we? 1. One of the few restaurants, open late past 10 still serving food. 2. Late night half price appetizers 3. Convenient location in Broadripple 4. Beautiful outdoor seating by the river. Applebee’s is good for those late night spontaneous outings where nothing else seems to be open and you want that restaurant atmosphere. Otherwise, I’d definitely favor a local option over Applebee’s any day.

I went there because it is conveniently located in broad ripple and they have a bunch of outdoor seating for my dog. Last time I went there I got the mini taco app. It was the saltiest thing in the world. This time I got the cheese dip for an app and riblets for dinner. They were so salty that I couln’t eat them. I probly should have sent them back, but I am weak. So I ended up taking them home and eating them for lunch the next day mixed with rice to cut the salt a bit. All the reviews of this place were horrible. I should have listened. Now I will. All they have that is good there is beer.
