Broad Ripple Canine Design

Overall good experience with this place. I take my dog there regularly to get his nails trimmed. After a recent trip I was told by the groomer about how good a groom with the antishedding treatment would be to help with his shedding. After some thought I decided a couple weeks later to give it a try. I have always bathed him myself and brush him with a furminator brush weekly. My pup looked good, and was so soft and smelled good! My only disappointment is that the «antishedding» treatment kinda was a gimmick. It really didn’t work and I honestly feel like he is shedding more (I have a white comforter that i washed while he was being groomed and he is black… pretty easy to see) I’ll still go back for his trimmings. And maybe between times I bathe him I’ll take him for a regular groom there, but honestly the $ 20 add on for the shedding treatment was a waste of money.

I have taken my Wheaton and Mini-​goldendoodle to several other groomers before finding Broad Ripple Canine Design as a result of a recommendation. My dogs are always trimmed consistently — just as we discuss and they look great. Shelley does an amazing job and I will continue to make the drive to have my dogs groomed here. Thanks!

This place is awesome! I have brought my Pitbull there numerous times and every-​time he is treated amazingly! He is always treated well and looked at as another dog and not his breed which I love! Highly recommend this place to anyone I know that needs any kind of grooming services!

Let me start by saying I used to be very happy with Canine Design. I have been taking my Bernese Mountain Dog, Cleo, here for over two years.
The past two visits have been less than exemplary, however. Two visits ago I don’t think they clipped her toenails or if they did it was barely done. Plus, she did not get her usual bow put on her as a nice finishing touch. Small things, I know, but you come to expect a certain service standard when paying $ 80 – 85 for a grooming.
Our last visit, and now it will be our literal last visit, our treatment was deplorable. Long story short: I had dropped her off at about 9:00 and they told me they wanted to close early, around 2:00, and would that work for me to pick her up by then? Sure, no problem. So around 1:30 I get a call from them telling me that Cleo had been having diarrhea and they were having a terrible time finishing her up (by 2:00, that is). Let me say here, she most certainly had not been sick prior to her appointment. I would never have taken her in like that had I known. I finished up what I was doing and was there to pick her up a little before 2:00. The girl came out just frazzled and I asked her what was going on. She started into this long rant about how Cleo had diarrhea in her cage and then again one the table and they just weren’t going to be able to get her cleaned up, certainly weren’t going to give her another bath, by 2:00. I was disappointed and a bit irritated and told her so. I asked what the charge would be and she told me $ 80! Excuse me? Full price for an incomplete grooming? I don’t think so. She argued back that they had taken all of this time trying to get her cleaned up from the diarrhea and just weren’t going to get her completely done by 2:00. I’m not sure who had the hot date that warranted closing up shop 3 hours early but it was starting to really piss me off. I said just give her to me and we’ll go. She knew I was upset and started back pedaling at that point; as I said we had been excellent customers for years. I said nothing more and paid them their $ 80, sans my usual excellent tip.
I feel their service has slipped in the past six months and I will be finding another groomer.

The best place to get your dog groomed! I use to take my dog to petsmart but after all the bad experiences I switched. So glad I did. My dog always looks great after getting groomed here!

I thought that you take your pets to a groomer to help do things you cant do. We have a newly 1 yr old old english sheepdog with a mane that is hard to manage. We groom her at home as often as possible but she only lasts oh so long before she gets antsy and wants to play. Understandable for a baby.
We just went in to drop her off –called yesterday and explained we just wanted a bath and help with dematting– and when we arrived they refused to take her. They basically said in front of others that we are bad dog owners and that we should be grooming everyday and that she is in pain and they will not take her in. Okay– whoa. First off I’m aware that we should brush her often… come on over lady and you try it. This is why we are going to pay you money as a professional to help us on what we cant do alone! She basically said it would cost to much money to get the job done… did I ever say how much I wanted to spend? I appreciate the heads up but once again came to you looking for a service.
I get it if my dog was going to be a difficult project but have better manners when you speak to someone. I have nothing nice to say about this women and her actions and I wish I could give them 0 stars

They were to wash and do a summer cut on our golden retriever… the dog was returned with what looked like a hole in her side… they cut all the way to her skin and made her bleed. We did not notice it when we picked her up and they should have mentioned it.
My partner brought the dog in because she thought they should see what was done. The manager was arrogant… dispassionate…and denied everything.
The skin got infected and needed antibiotic cream.

BR Canine Design did a great job on our pups, a Yorkie and a Maltese. Prices are very reasonable, the people are nice, and best of all the dogs didn’t seem traumatized like they were clinging to me for dear life to get them out of the groomer when I picked them up.

My husband and I take Maxwell and Riley, our two Shih Tzu mixes and they always do a wonderful job! Maxwell just loves Shelly and he always looks great. Riley hates getting groomed but they never make us feel bad, instead have helped us find ways to make it easier. I appreciate that!
Only reason not 5 stars is because they don’t take credit or debit and it can be a pain to get cash before we go, but not so much of a pain that we don’t keep going back! Love them!

I dabbled with a few other places, but I love Broad Ripple Canine Design! They’re kind, love the animals, and meticulous. The pricing is within reason especially with the quality of the cuts. Penny (my pup) loves it and always looks so great afterward. I trust them and in the end that’s the most important thing.

They do an amazing job. Friendly people who know what they’re doing. They really care for the dogs and it shows. Our poodle doesn’t even mind going because she’s taken care of well.

They did a great job with Khloe, and they are reasonably priced… I will definitely be taking her back to Canine Design! Two thumbs up from me!

This is the best groomer ever! They listened to my needs for my Cairn Terrier and did an excellent job of grooming. My little doggie didn’t even want to leave when I came to collect her!
