I am surprised this place doesn’t have better reviews! There aren’t any awesome Chinese restaurants around us, but this is our favorite of all those near our house, in the North Indy/Carmel area. They seem to always be open, they’re friendly, and the food is consistently good. One thing that bugs me with a mediocre Chinese place is when they give you a dish full of meat and sauce with a few paltry strips of julienne carrots on top. China Inn doesn’t do that; each dish has a wide variety of quality veggies in it. They also give you a free order of crab rangoon when your order hits $ 20!

Was out of town for business and had a taste for Chinese the hotel gave me the menu to this restaurant. Customer service was amazing very friendly people. I got delivery which came fast and hot! Driver was nice as well he even drove back when I requested a receipt. I didn’t give them a 5 star because unfortunately the food is very very bland which sucks I really had high hopes the people are amazing if they add more seasoning this place would be a 5 star

Eastern China is only a short walk from my office building, which makes it a great option when I’m in a pinch and tired of sandwich delivery. In all honesty, the menu is the same standard for all small Chinese joints around Indy that are primarily take-out/delivery establishments. You know the ones I’m talking about. You walk in, there are only a handful of tables, a dozen pictures of dishes posted high on the wall, and a tri-fold menu waiting for you at the counter. All the dishes are assigned a letter/number combo. Yeah, we all know what I’m talking about. Although the menus may be the same, the quality of the various establishments varies. Eastern China does not. It’s consistent, decent quality, Americanized Chinese take-out. And a great on-the-go option. The service could be smiley-er, but never misses on efficiency. I feel lucky to have this little place so close to the office!

This place is disgusting and dirty. Same menu that is at every single Chinese food joint in the United States. Nothing special about this food and I thought that the prices were high compared to the portions you received. I would not bother.

I’ve been coming here since I was in 3rd grade since I live right down the street. Best Chinese food in the area! Get the General Tso’s chicken with chicken lo mein.

Best Chinese around. I have tried several Chinese fast food places in the surrounding area and they were OK … edible for lack of better word… but this place??? AMAZING! Loved it! HOTANDDELICIOUS! I would not order from any other place. My orders are specific as I am a VERY picky eater and to have it done right was the extra plus! two thumbs up from me… BTW I have ordered about 6 time from this place before I finally decided to give them this review! WELLDONE! ;)

This is a standard Chinese food dive with standard shrimp and pork egg rolls. An order of crab rangoon is free if you spend more than $ 20, just make sure to ask for it. The chow mei fun is a family favorite(thin rice noodles with bok choy, other veggies, and choice of protein). We love the chicken with mushrooms which is packed with white chicken and button mushrooms in a brown sauce. The crunch from the celery, carrots, and nuts in the chicken almond ding offers texture that you normally don’t get with Chinese food. The sweet and sour shrimp are jumbo sized so only five pieces fit into a pint, but their fluffy and crispy texture leave me wanting more. If it’s close to your work or home, stop by and try it. Don’t expect the curry or kung pao chicken to be spicy though. Request heat if you want some. They offer delivery, but I’ve never had success with them being able to take down my address. Their website provides a menu and prices.

I was pretty underwhelmed here. I wanted to believe in it, because it’s just a block from where I work, and it’d be great to have a good Chinese joint in walking distance, but it just wasn’t really. It wasn’t terrible, and could maybe do for a fix, but if I’m craving Chinese, I know better to be had around home or work.

Sure, this place looks really shady, but the food is excellent. After hearing good things about this place from several of my friends, I decided to finally try it out. I was not disappointed. I had the General Tso’s Chicken lunch special with egg drop soup and fried rice. The fried was so-so, but I usually don’t eat a whole lot of the rice at Chinese places anyways. The egg drop soup wasn’t anything too out of the ordinary, but it was delicious. The General Tso’s was excellent. For the price, you can tell they definitely use higher quality ingredients than most Chinese restaurants. The sauce was outstanding. This may be my new favorite General Tso’s chicken around, edging out my previous favorite from Beijing City in Carmel. Highly recommended! .
